They were randomly divided as the control group and the therapeutic group, 50 cases each. For control group, Enalapril tablets were administered by mouth for treatment. For therapeutic group, folic acid and vitamin B12 treatment were provided on the basis of treatment for control group. Treatments were continued for 12 weeks. Plasma Hcy levels, inflammatory factors [(interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and hypersensitive C reaction protein (hs-CRP)], blood vessels endothelial function indexes variation in patients before and after treatment were observed and detected. Results:Plasma Hcy, IL-6, IL-8 and hs-CRP levels in two groups of patients after treatment were significantly decreased comparing with the same group before treatment, and the above index levels in therapeutic group after treatment were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05);For comparison of blood vessels endothelial function indexes in the patients, NO levels in two groups after treatment were increased in various degrees, and endothelin-1 (ET-1) were decreased. The differences between levels of the two indexes in therapeutic group before and after treatment were significant, and levels after treatment in therapeutic group were significantly better than in control group (P<0.05). While variations of the differences in control group before and after treatment were not significant (P>0.05);After treatment, diastolic pressure and systolic pressure in the two groups of patients were significantly improved comparing with before treatment (P<0.05). However, after treatment, the differences of levels between therapeutic group and control group were not significant (P>0.05). MMSE score in therapeutic group after treatment was significantly higher than before treatment, and significantly higher than in control group (P<0.05).Conclusions: Combined therapy of folic acid and vitamin B12 for treating vascular dementia with type H hypertension could effectively decrease plasma Hcy and inflammatory factor levels, and improve blood vessels endothelial function and dementia degree on patients. It has certain clinical value which deserves to be promoted.展开更多

Method: 215 cases of patients with hypertension from January 2015 to June 2016 were randomly selected from TianYou Hospital attached to WUST.Blood pressure was monitored 24 hours;according to the results, patients were divided into 81 cases of morning blood pressure surge group (study group) and 134 cases of non-morning blood pressure surge group (control group). Biochemical indicators of the two groups were measured, such as Hcy, Glu, blood lipid (TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C). The ventricular structure index (IVST, LVDD, LVPWT, LVMI) were measured by color doppler ultrasound.Result: 1) The IVST, LVDD, LVPWT and LVMI were significantly higher in study group than in control group (P 0.05), and the incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) (74.1%) was significantly higher in study group than in control group (22.4%) (P 0.05). 2) There was no statistical difference in TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C between the two groups (P > 0.05). The serum levels of Hcy [(16.89 ± 5.84) mmol/L] in study group were significantly higher than those in control group [(10.88 ± 4.07) mmol/L] (P 0.05). 3) Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that morning blood pressure surge and Hcy were the risk factors of left ventricular hypertrophy. Conclusion: In elderly patients with?hypertension, the higher the morning blood pressure surge and Hcy level, the more probability of left ventricular hypertrophy and the more obvious degree.展开更多

The present study was performed to investigate possible relationships among plasma total homocysteine, plasma 8-iso-prostaglandin F2α (8-isoPG F2α: an index of oxidative stress), and membrane fluidity (a reciprocal value of membrane microviscosity) in hypertension. We measured the membrane fluidity of red blood cells (RBCs) in hypertensive and normotensive men using an electron spin resonance (ESR) and spin-labeling method. Membrane fluidity of RBCs was significantly decreased in hypertensive men compared with normotensive men. Plasma total homocysteine levels were significantly higher in hypertensive men than in normotensive men, and correlated with plasma 8-isoPG F2α. In contrast, plasma nitric oxide (NO)-metabolites (an index of endothelial function) were lower in hypertensive men than in normotensive men. The reduced membrane fluidity of RBCs was associated with increased total homocysteine and plasma 8-isoPG F2α levels and decreased plasma NO-metabolite levels. Multivariate regression analysis showed that, after adjusting for general risk factors, plasma total homocysteine and 8-isoPG F2α were significant determinants of membrane fluidity of RBCs, respectively. These results suggest that hyperhomocysteinemia and oxidative stress with endothelial dysfunction might have a close correlation with impaired rheologic behavior of RBCs and circulatory disorders in hypertensive men.展开更多

Patients were divided into two groups according to whether they smoked, and the blood lipids, C-reactive protein, and homocysteine were compared between groups. Results:The proportion of smokers was 41.83%.The levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL), and homocysteine were higher in patients who smoked than in those who did not(P < 0.05). High density lipoprotein (HDL) was lower in the smoking group (P < 0.05). C-reactive protein test results were divided into groups according to whether the levels exceeded the normal range or not, and no correlation was found between C-reactive protein levels and smoking(P>0.05). Conclusion:Total cholesterol, TG, LDL, HDL, and homocysteine were significantly different between stroke patients who smoked and those who did not. We therefore suggest that smoking cessation take place as soon as possible and that it be avoided entirely in order to reduce the incidence of atherosclerosis and stroke.展开更多

Methods:80 patients with acute cerebral infarction treated in our hospital between January 2013 and January 2013 were selected as the research subjects and divided into observation group (n = 40) and control group (n = 40) according to the random number table. Control group received conventional therapy and observation group received fasudil combined with conventional therapy. After 14 d of treatment, the levels of cerebral blood perfusion parameters, nerve function indexes, platelet function indexes and homocysteine (Hcy) of two groups of patients were determined. Results:After 14 d of treatment, middle cerebral artery and basilar artery peak systolic flow velocity (Vs), low diastolic flow velocity (Vd) and mean flow velocity (Vm) levels of observation group were higher than those of control group (P<0.05);serum nerve function indexes brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) content were higher than those of control group (P<0.05) while phosphatidic acid (PA), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), S100β protein (S100β), and substantia nigra divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) content were lower than those of control group (P<0.05);serum platelet function indexes platelet activation-dependent granule membrane protein-140 (GMP-140), fibrinogen receptor-1 (PAC-1), platelet activating factor (PAF) and platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) content were lower than those of control group (P<0.05);serum Hcy content was lower than that of control group (P<0.05).Conclusions:Fasudil combined with conventional therapy can optimize the nerve function and blood coagulation function in patients with acute cerebral infarction, and also plays a positive role in reducing Hcy levels.展开更多
