In this way, the difficulty caused by measuring indirectly weld nugget size can be decreased in spot welding quality control, and the stability of spot welding quality can be improved. According to this method, two-dimensional fuzzy controllers are designed with the information fusion result as input and the thyristor control signal as output. The spot welding experimental results indicate that the spot welding quality intelligent control method based on multiscnsor information fusion technology can compensate the influence caused by variable factors in welding process and ensure the stability of welding quality.展开更多

In general, single sensor system can only provide partial information about environment while multi-sensor system provides a synergistic effect, which improves the quality and availability of information. Data fusion techniques can effectively combine this environmental information from similar and/or dissimilar sensors. Sensor management, aiming at improving data fusion performance by controlling sensor behavior, plays an important role in a data fusion process. This paper presents a method using fisher information gain based sensor effectiveness metric for sensor assignment in multi-sensor and multi-target tracking applications. The fisher information gain is computed for every sensor-target pairing on each scan. The advantage for this metric over other ones is that the fisher information gain for the target obtained by multi-sensors is equal to the sum of ones obtained by the individual sensor, so standard transportation problem formulation can be used to solve this problem without importing the concept of pseudo sensor. Based on these atomic services, different sensor nodes can cooperate and compose with each other to complete more complicated tasks for user. However, because of the regional characteristic of sensor nodes, merging data with different sensitivities become a primary requirement to the composite services, and information flow security should be intensively considered during service composition. In order to mitigate the great cost caused by the complexity of modeling and the heavy load of single-node verification to the energy-limited sensor node, in this paper, we propose a new distributed verification framework to enforce information flow security on composite services of smart sensor network. We analyze the information flows in composite services and specify security constraints for each service participant. Then we propose an algorithm over the distributed verification framework involving each sensor node to participate in the composite service verification based on the security constraints. The experimental results indicate that our approach can reduce the cost of verification and provide a better load balance.展开更多

In the proposed scheme, location information...This paper proposes a scheme to obtain location and vital health information using ZigBee system. ZigBee systems are wireless communication systems defined by IEEE 802.154. In the proposed scheme, location information is obtained using the Link Quality Indication (LQI) function of a ZigBee system, which represents the received signal strength. And, the vital health information are collected from the electrocardiogram monitor, the pulse and blood pressure device, attached to the patient’s body. This information is then transmitted to an outside network by ZigBee systems. In this way, vital health information can be transmitted as ZigBee sensor data while patients with the ZigBee terminal are moving. In the experiments using actual ZigBee devices, the proposed scheme could obtain accurate location and vital health information from the sensor data. Moreover, to achieve high reliability in the actual service, the collected amount of sensor data was confirmed by the theoretic calculation, when a ZigBee terminal passed through ZigBee routers. These results indicate that the proposed scheme can be used to detect the accurate location of the ZigBee terminal. And over 99% of the sensor data on vital health information was obtained when the ZigBee terminal passed through approximately four ZigBee routers.展开更多
In sensor networks,the adversaries can inject false data reports from compromised nodes.Previous approaches to filter false reports,e.g.,SEF,only verify the correctness of the message authentication code (MACs) carrie...In sensor networks,the adversaries can inject false data reports from compromised nodes.Previous approaches to filter false reports,e.g.,SEF,only verify the correctness of the message authentication code (MACs) carried in each data report on intermediate nodes,thus cannot filter out fake reports that are forged in a collaborative manner by a group of compromised nodes,even if these compromised nodes distribute in different geographical areas.Furthermore,if the adversary obtains keys from enough (e.g.,more than t in SEF) distinct key partitions,it then can successfully forge a data report without being detected en-route.A neighbor information based false report filtering scheme (NFFS) in wireless sensor networks was presented.In NFFS,each node distributes its neighbor information to some other nodes after deployment.When a report is generated for an observed event,it must carry the IDs and the MACs from t detecting nodes.Each forwarding node checks not only the correctness of the MACs carried in the report,but also the legitimacy of the relative position of these detecting nodes.Analysis and simulation results demonstrate that NFFS can resist collaborative false data injection attacks efficiently,and thus can tolerate much more compromised nodes than existing schemes.展开更多

Consequently, it is predictable that opportunities and...In accordance with the requirements of expanding Machine-To-Machine communication (M2M), the network overlay is in progress in several domains such as Smart Grid. Consequently, it is predictable that opportunities and cases of integrating yielded data from devices such as sensors will increase more. Accordingly, the importance of Ontology and Information Models (IM) which normalize the semantics including sensor expressions, have increased, and the standards of these definitions have been more important as well. So far, there have been multiple initiatives for standardizing the Ontology and IM in regards to the sensors expression such as Sensor Standards Harmonization by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), W3C Semantic Sensor Network (SSN) and the recent W3C IoT-Lite Ontology. However, there is still room to improve the current level of the Ontology and IM on the viewpoint of the implementing structure. This paper presents a set of IMs on abstract sensors and contexts in regards to the phenomenon around these sensors from the point of view of a structure implementing these specified sensors. As several previous studies have pointed out, multiple aspects on the sensors should be modeled. Accordingly, multiple sets of Ontology and IM on these sensors should be defined. Our study has intended to clarify the relationship between configurations and physical measured quantities of the structures implementing a set of sensors. Up to present, they have not been generalized and have remained unformulated. Consequently, due to the result of this analysis, it is expected to implement a more generalized translator module easily, which aggregates the measured data from the sensors on the middleware level managing these Ontology and IM, instead of the layer of user application programs.展开更多

The resulting filter is called the square-root cubature Information filter (SCIF). The SCIF propagates the square-root information matrices derived from numerically stable matrix operations and is therefore numerically robust. The SCIF is applied to a highly maneuvering target tracking problem in a distributed sensor network with feedback. The SCIF’s performance is finally compared with the regular cubature information filter and the traditional extended information filter. The results, presented herein, indicate that the SCIF is the most reliable of all three filters and yields a more accurate estimate than the extended information filter.展开更多

Based on the spatial and temporal correlation of water regime monitoring information, this paper addresses this issue and proposes an information fusion method to implement data rectification. An improved Back Propagation (BP) neural network is used to perform data fusion on the hardware platform of a stantion unit, which takes Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as the core component. In order to verify the effectiveness, five measurements including water level, discharge and velocity are selected from three different points in a water regime monitoring station. The simulation results show that this method can recitify random errors as well as gross errors significantly.展开更多

In this algorithm, the sensor selection scheme based on the information utility measure is used. To update the estimation in each selected node, a neighborhood radius equal to the communication range of the sensor nodes is defined and all sensors located in the neighborhood circle, whose radius is equal to the neighborhood radius and the selected node is its centre, collaborate their information. To decrease the energy consumption, the neighborhood radius is reduced gradually based on the error covariance value of the estimation. In addition, this paper includes a new method for the initial point calculation which is important in the recursive methods used for distributed algorithms in wireless sensor networks. Numerical examples are used to study the performance of the algorithms. Simulation results show the accuracy of the new algorithm becomes better while its energy consumption is low enough.展开更多

Therefore, this paper proposes a comprehensive correlation discriminant method to obtain a more reliable and comprehensive emitters-ship assignment, and then uses information entropy method to identify the type of the target ship on the basis of this association and assign the credibility. In this way, vital health information can be transmitted as ZigBee sensor data while patients with the ZigBee terminal are moving. In the experiments using actual ZigBee devices, the proposed scheme could obtain accurate location and vital health information from the sensor data. Moreover, to achieve high reliability in the actual service, the collected amount of sensor data was confirmed by the theoretic calculation, when a ZigBee terminal passed through ZigBee routers. These results indicate that the proposed scheme can be used to detect the accurate location of the ZigBee terminal. And over 99% of the sensor data on vital health information was obtained when the ZigBee terminal passed through approximately four ZigBee routers.

文摘In sensor networks,the adversaries can inject false data reports from compromised nodes.Previous approaches to filter false reports,e.g.,SEF,only verify the correctness of the message authentication code (MACs) carried in each data report on intermediate nodes,thus cannot filter out fake reports that are forged in a collaborative manner by a group of compromised nodes,even if these compromised nodes distribute in different geographical areas.Furthermore,if the adversary obtains keys from enough (e.g.,more than t in SEF) distinct key partitions,it then can successfully forge a data report without being detected en-route.A neighbor information based false report filtering scheme (NFFS) in wireless sensor networks was presented.In NFFS,each node distributes its neighbor information to some other nodes after deployment.When a report is generated for an observed event,it must carry the IDs and the MACs from t detecting nodes.Each forwarding node checks not only the correctness of the MACs carried in the report,but also the legitimacy of the relative position of these detecting nodes.Analysis and simulation results demonstrate that NFFS can resist collaborative false data injection attacks efficiently,and thus can tolerate much more compromised nodes than existing schemes.
文摘In accordance with the requirements of expanding Machine-To-Machine communication (M2M), the network overlay is in progress in several domains such as Smart Grid. Consequently, it is predictable that opportunities and cases of integrating yielded data from devices such as sensors will increase more. Accordingly, the importance of Ontology and Information Models (IM) which normalize the semantics including sensor expressions, have increased, and the standards of these definitions have been more important as well. So far, there have been multiple initiatives for standardizing the Ontology and IM in regards to the sensors expression such as Sensor Standards Harmonization by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), W3C Semantic Sensor Network (SSN) and the recent W3C IoT-Lite Ontology. However, there is still room to improve the current level of the Ontology and IM on the viewpoint of the implementing structure. This paper presents a set of IMs on abstract sensors and contexts in regards to the phenomenon around these sensors from the point of view of a structure implementing these specified sensors. As several previous studies have pointed out, multiple aspects on the sensors should be modeled. Accordingly, multiple sets of Ontology and IM on these sensors should be defined. Our study has intended to clarify the relationship between configurations and physical measured quantities of the structures implementing a set of sensors. Up to present, they have not been generalized and have remained unformulated. Consequently, due to the result of this analysis, it is expected to implement a more generalized translator module easily, which aggregates the measured data from the sensors on the middleware level managing these Ontology and IM, instead of the layer of user application programs.
文摘This paper derives a square-root information-type filtering algorithm for nonlinear multi-sensor fusion problems using the cubature Kalman filter theory. The resulting filter is called the square-root cubature Information filter (SCIF). The SCIF propagates the square-root information matrices derived from numerically stable matrix operations and is therefore numerically robust. The SCIF is applied to a highly maneuvering target tracking problem in a distributed sensor network with feedback. The SCIF’s performance is finally compared with the regular cubature information filter and the traditional extended information filter. The results, presented herein, indicate that the SCIF is the most reliable of all three filters and yields a more accurate estimate than the extended information filter.

文摘In the applications of water regime monitoring, incompleteness, and inaccuracy of sensor data may directly affect the reliability of acquired monitoring information. Based on the spatial and temporal correlation of water regime monitoring information, this paper addresses this issue and proposes an information fusion method to implement data rectification. An improved Back Propagation (BP) neural network is used to perform data fusion on the hardware platform of a stantion unit, which takes Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as the core component. In order to verify the effectiveness, five measurements including water level, discharge and velocity are selected from three different points in a water regime monitoring station. The simulation results show that this method can recitify random errors as well as gross errors significantly.
文摘We developed L3SN, a scalable, longevous, adaptive, and internet accessible wireless sensor network system for agriculture information monitoring, which is meticulously designed to meet the requirement of thousands hectares coverage, years of time monitoring and the adverse environment. The system architecture, the agriculture sensor device, the mesh protocol, and the web-based information processing platform are introduced. We also presented some implementation experience. The mesh protocol (LayerMesh) is highlighted, in which “stair scheduling” and “distributed dynamic load-balancing” are proposed to response the scalability, longevity and adaptivity requirements. We believe the design of L3SN is useful to many other large-scale, longevous applications such as hydrologic monitoring, geological monitoring etc.
文摘This paper discusses an accurate distributed algorithm for diffusive source localization while maintaining the low energy consumption of sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks. In this algorithm, the sensor selection scheme based on the information utility measure is used. To update the estimation in each selected node, a neighborhood radius equal to the communication range of the sensor nodes is defined and all sensors located in the neighborhood circle, whose radius is equal to the neighborhood radius and the selected node is its centre, collaborate their information. To decrease the energy consumption, the neighborhood radius is reduced gradually based on the error covariance value of the estimation. In addition, this paper includes a new method for the initial point calculation which is important in the recursive methods used for distributed algorithms in wireless sensor networks. Numerical examples are used to study the performance of the algorithms. Simulation results show the accuracy of the new algorithm becomes better while its energy consumption is low enough.

文摘The concepts of information fusion and the basic principles of neural networks are introduced. Neural net-works were introduced as a way of building an information fusion model in a coal mine monitoring system. This assures the accurate transmission of the multi-sensor information that comes from the coal mine monitoring systems. The in-formation fusion mode was analyzed. An algorithm was designed based on this analysis and some simulation results were given. Finally,conclusions that could provide auxiliary decision making information to the coal mine dispatching officers were presented.

文摘With the wide applications of sensor network technology in traffic information acquisition systems,a new measure will be quite necessary to evaluate spatially related properties of traffic information credibility.The heterogeneity of spatial distribution of information credibility from sensor networks is analyzed and a new measure,information credibility function(ICF),is proposed to describe this heterogeneity.Three possible functional forms of sensor ICF and their corresponding expressions are presented.Then,two feasible operations of spatial superposition of sensor ICFs are discussed.Finally,a numerical example is introduced to show the calibration method of sensor ICF and obtain the spatially related properties of expressway in Beijing.The results show that the sensor ICF of expressway in Beijing possesses a negative exponent property.The traffic information is more abundant at or near the locations of sensor,while with the distance away from the sensor increasing,the traffic information credibility will be declined by an exponential trend.The new measure provides theoretical bases for the optimal locations of traffic sensor networks and the mechanism research of spatial distribution of traffic information credibility.
文摘Ship type identification is an important part of electronic reconnaissance. However, in the existing methods, such as statistical-based methods and fuzzy-mathematics-based methods, the information acquired by the passive sensor is not fully utilized, and there is a certain ambiguity in the assignment relationship of the emitters-ship. They can’t conclude the accurate and reliable assignment relationship of the emitters-ship. Therefore, this paper proposes a comprehensive correlation discriminant method to obtain a more reliable and comprehensive emitters-ship assignment, and then uses information entropy method to identify the type of the target ship on the basis of this association and assign the credibility. The simulation results show that this algorithm can effectively solve the problem of target ship type identification using the information of multi-passive sensors.
