There are many tolerance types, the relations between which are very complicated. In addition, the different principles of tolerance make study of tolerance difficult; and there may be various meanings or interpretation for the same type of tolerance because of the literal definition. In this work, latest unambiguous mathematical definition was applied to study, explain and clarify: (1) the formation and representation of tolerance zone, and (2) the formation and representation of variational elements; after which, the mathematical models of symmetry of different tolerance principles and different interpretations were derived. An example is given to illustrate the application of these models in tolerance analysis.展开更多

With NURBS basis functions in IGA, the computational model was consistent with geometric model imported from CAD system. The field variable (longitudinal electric/magnetic field) was constructed by the same NURBS basis functions as the representation of geometric model. In the refinement procedure used to get a more accurate solution, communication with original CAD system is unnecessary and the geometric shape is kept unchanged. The Helrnholtz equation is weakened to a set of general eigenvalue equation by virtual work principal with diseretized degree-of-freedom on control points. Elliptical waveguides with three typical eccentricities, 0.1, 0.5 and 0.9, are calculated by IGA with different size mesh. The first four cutoff wavenumbers are obtained even in coarse mesh and the RMS of first 25 cutoff wavenumbers has much more swift convergence rate with decreasing the mesh size than traditional FEM. The accuracy and robustness of the proposed method are validated by elliptical waveguides, and also the method can be applied to waveguides with arbitrary cross sections.展开更多

After the introduction of its extensible function architecture, accompanied by the conclusion of implicit spatial-temporal hierarchy of models in any reconstructed scene of 3D GIS for general purpose, several key issues are discussed in detail, such as the storage and management of 3D models and related retrieval and load method, as well as the interfaces for further on-demand development. Finally, the validity and feasibility of this model database are proved through its application in the development of 3D visualization system of railway operation.展开更多
