A four point bending test is adopted on the notched prisms with the size of 100?mm×100?mm×500?mm to investigate the effect of hybrid fibres on crack arresting. The research results show that there is a positive synergy effect between large steel fibres and polypropylene fibres on the load bearing capacity in the small displacement range. This planting material can combine vegetation recovery with slope protection. The XRD, SEM and image analysis techniques were used to study its composition and microstructure. Its strength was measured by an electro-hydraulic servo-controlled testing machine. The results show the unconfined compressive strength is about 393.6 kPa, and the average elastic modulus is about 47.0 MPa. The quartz, felspar, chlorite and calcite are the main non-clay minerals in the planting material. Its particles are mainly spherical, and the range of the equivalent diameter is 1.83 to 15.96 μm. The results show that the stainless steel EAF slag, mainly made up of Ca2 SiO4, Ca3 Mg ( SiO4 ) 2, some Cr-containing minerals and in small particle size, is easily ground and has cementitious activity. EAF slag, when used as cement admixture, can be added with a maximum percentage of 32%. It can meet the strength requirements of the standard P · C 32.5 cement. When the mixing percentage is decreased to 25 % , the strength of the cement can be increased to that of P · C 42.5 cement. Other main quality indexes of composite cement, such as the setting time and stability, also satisfy standard requirements. The results also show that most of the heavy metals in the stainless steel EAF slag exist in a stable speciation. The concentration of heavy metals that leach out from the stainless steel EAF slag and the composite cement products is far lower than the standard limit of hazardous wastes. The main heavy metal, chromium, exists as less hazardous trivalent chromium. Therefore, the risk of heavy metals leaching out from the stainless steel EAF slag is low. The internal exposure index (IRa) and the external exposure index (Iγ) of the stainless steel EAF slag are both lower than 1.0, satisfying the standard requirements of the state for the radionuclides of building materials. For the purposed of better meeting the engineering requirements, experimental studies were conducted in this study with focus on the nanocomposite grouting materials and the related controlled grouting technology. As compared with the commonly used silicate-sulpho-aluminate composite cement, which is characterized by relatively poor rheological property, quick setting time and low strength, the most suitable nano-material with proper reactants were selected intentionally to improve the mentioned attributes of composite cement. Due to the setting time and strength of the targeted cement slurry behaving with poor performance of harmonization to engineering construction problems, hydration synergistic effect of these composites were investigated in our experiments. Results showed that the properties of grouting materials, including initial fluidity, setting time, ideal right-angle thickening, and early strength and late strength were sufficient to produce an expected grouting application. It is therefore advocated that the refined grouting material could provide a better solution to fix grouting problems in complex ground cementing operations.展开更多

Their infl uences on compressive strength, water absorption and resistance of MOCF were also discussed in detail. The experimental results indicated that moderate and slight excess MgO powders(MgO/MgCl2 molar ratios from 5.1 to 7) were beneficial to the formation of excellent microstructure of MOCF, but increasing water contents(H2O/MgO mass ratios from 0.9 to 1.29) might result in opposite conclusions. The microstructure of MOCF produced with moderate and slight excess MgO powders could enhance the compressive strength, while serious excess MgO powders addition(MgO/MgCl2 molar ratios = 9) would destroy the cell wall structures, and therefore decrease the strength of the system. Although MOCF produced with excess MgO powders could decrease the water absorption, its softening coefficient was lower than that of the material produced with moderate MgO powders. This might be due to the instability of phase 5, the volume expansion and cracking of cell walls as immersed the sample into water.展开更多

It is found that the surface of carbon fibre is not corroded during the treatment. But at the same time, it is also found that after this treatment, a certain number of carbonyl groups (C O) and (-COOH or ?COONa) are produced on the treated surface of carbon fibre. When carbon fiber is mixed with cement paste, the above reactive groups will link with Ca+2 in the paste, which will result in an early stage hydration of cement in inter facial areas. In addition, the experiments show that the rheological properties of cement paste reinforced with alkali-treated carbon fibre differ greatly from that of untreated carbon fibre reinforced cement paste.展开更多

文摘Microbially induced calcium carbonate(CaCO_(3))precipitation(MICP)has been investigated as a sustain-able alternative to conventional concrete remediation methods for improving the mechanical properties and durability of concrete structures. To date,urea-dependent MICP is the most widely employed MICP pathway in biological self-healing concrete research as its use has resulted in efficient CaCO_(3) precipita-tion rates.NH_(3) is a byproduct of ureolysis, and can be hazardous to cementitious structures and the health of various species.Accordingly,non-ureolytic bacterial concrete self-healing systems have been developed as eco-friendly alternatives to urea-dependent self-healing systems.Non-ureolytic pathways can improve the physical properties of concrete samples and incorporate the use of waste materials;they have the potential to be cost-effective and sustainable. Moreover, they can be applied in terrestrial and marine environments. To date, research on non-ureolytic concrete self-healing systems has been scarce compared to that on ureolytic systems. This article discusses the advances and challenges in non-ureolytic bacterial concrete self-healing studies and highlights the directions for future research.

文摘Improvement of the fluidity and setting time of grouting materials has been recognized as an effective approach of seepage prevention in foundation works, and it is quite common to be used for handling severe leakages in complex ground conditions, such as loose, broken and fully fissured stratum. It is therefore advocated that the refined grouting material could provide a better solution to fix grouting problems in complex ground cementing operations.
文摘The influences of the fiber volume fraction on the electrical conductivity and the fraction change of electrical resistance under three-point-bending test were discussed. It is found that the relationship beween the electrical conductivity of composites and the fiber volume fraction can be explained by the percolation theory and the change of electrical resistance of specimens reflects to the process of loading. The sensitivity and the response of the change of electrical resistance to the load for specimens with different fiber volume fractions are quite different.which provide an important guide for the manufacture of conductive and intrinsically smart carbon fiber composite.

文摘The 21 dog-bone specimens with different fiber contents and fiber distribution (random chopped fiber or directional continuous filament fiber bundles) were designed and tested under uniaxial tension using domestic PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) fiber.High fiber content exerted positive influences on cracking stress, peak stress and deformation capacity of specimens with random chopped fiber, compared with the decrease shown in cracking stress of specimens containing directional fiber bundles. There were multiple cracks in specimens containing directional fiber bundles, while only 1-2 typical cracks could be shown in chopped fiber specimens after being broken.Random chopped fiber connected more closely with matrix compared with that only part of fiber bundles could contact with matrix.Double-fold line model and parabolic model could be used simultaneously to fit well with the uniaxial tension constitutive relations of engineered cementitious composite (ECC).Although the performance of PVA produced in China can not reach to the same level of those from Japan, there exists certain practical value in engineering according to its contribution to deformability of structure.

文摘Influence of fabric geometrical parameters, including the number of filling yarns per 10 cm,yarn twist and fiber type,on bonding of the fabric reinforced cement composites is studied by fabric pull-out test and SEM microstructure analysis. The results show that the bonding strength increase with the increase of the number of filling yarns per 10 cm in the range of this study. But the influence of fabric count on the interfacial bonding is dual and there is a critical value. The twist of yarns has a little effect on the bonding strength and interfacial bonding behaves of nylon fabric reinforced cement composites. There is an optimum twist range.Within this range, the bonding strength increase slowly with the increase of yarn twist.Beyond this range,it is versus. The bonding strength is strongly affected by the fabric character. The bonding between the nylon fiber fabric and cement is good;that of between glass fiber fabric and cement is moderate and that of between the carbon fiber fabric and cement is poor.
文摘This paper proposed a new generation of high performance composite cement which is designed according to the optimization of composition and structure of cement paste and is manufactured by blending the differ ent components with special composite techniques. Each of these components has its different special property, and should be compatible with each other and match each other, and the properties of them are complementary mutually. At present, such kind of high performance composite cement can be manufactured with high reactivity cement clinker, ground granulated blast - furnace slag, high grade fly ash, silica fume etc..
文摘The enhancement of interface bonding between cement and polymerand the structural reticula- tion of the water-soluble polymer areproposed to minimize the shortening of the mechanical properties ofmacro-de- fect-free(MDF)cement based composites at high relativehumidity. The MDF composites incorporated with vari- ouscross-coupling agents studied experimentally. The results show thatthe MDF composites modified with small amounts of cross-couplingagent had raised mechanical properties, but it is more important thatthe modified MDF composites had a significant increase in waterresistance compared to the original one.

文摘Microstructural features including pore size distribution, cell walls and phase compositions of magnesium oxychloride cement foams(MOCF) with various MgO powders and water mixture ratios were studied. This might be due to the instability of phase 5, the volume expansion and cracking of cell walls as immersed the sample into water.
文摘A thrust for looking multifunctional materials for applications in civil engineering structures has attracted interest among researchers across the globe.Cement based Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.88Sn0.02O3(BCZT.Sn)composites were prepared for electrocaloric applications with varying BCZT.Sn to cement ratio.Hysteresis loops showed some signature of saturation in cement composites. However, loops of pure sample were saturated due to its ferroelectric nature.Furthermore, these composites were explored for the first time in solid state refrigeration technology namely electrocaloric effect(ECE).Peak electrocaloric performance shows an adiabatic temperature changes of 0.71,0.64 and 0.50 K and isothermal entropy changes of 0.86,0.80 and 0.65 J/(kg.K)for BCZT.Sn,10%and 15%cement composites, respectively, under application of 0-29 kV/cm electric field. The adiabatic temperature change in cement based composites is comparable with that of the BCZT-Sn ferroelectric ceramics.Furthermore, the dielectric constant(εr)of composites with different ceramic contents at room temperature reveals that dielectric constant increases with an increase in BCZT-Sn proportion in composites. These cement based BCZT.Sn composite materials may be used in solid state refrigeration as they are fairly competitive with the pristine sample.
文摘The surface of carbon fibre is studied which has been treated with heated sodium hydrate solution (NaOH) . In addition, the experiments show that the rheological properties of cement paste reinforced with alkali-treated carbon fibre differ greatly from that of untreated carbon fibre reinforced cement paste.

文摘Considering the economic and environmental benefits associated with the recycling of polyester(PET)fibres,it is vital to study the application of fibre-reinforced cement composites.According to the characteristics of the wind-blown sand environment in Inner Mongolia, the erosion resistance of the polyester fibre-reinforced cement composites(PETFRCC)with different PET fibre contents to various erosion angles, velocities and sand particle flows was investigated by the gas-blast method.Based on the actual conditions of sandstorms in Inner Mongolia, the sand erosion parameters required for testing were calculated by the similarity theory. The elastic-plastic model and rigid plastic model of PETFRCC and cement mortar were established, and the energy consumption mechanism of the model under particle impact was analyzed. The experimental results indicate that the microstructure of PETFRCC rafter hydration causes a spring-like buffering effect, and the deformation of PETFRCC under the same impact load is slightly smaller than that of cement mortar, and the damage mechanism of PETFRCC is mainly characterized by fiber deformation and slight brittle spalling of matrix. And under the most unfavorable conditions of the erosion, the erosion rate of 0.5PETFRCC is about 57.69%lower than that of cement mortar, showing better erosion resistance.
