The data of solubilities, densities and refractive indices of rubidium chloride or cesium chloride in the system CEHsOH-H2O were measured by using a simple accurate analytical method at different temperatures, with mass fractions of ethanol in the range of 0 to 1.0. In all cases, the presence of ethanol significantly reduced the solubility of rubidium chloride and cesium chloride in aqueous solution. The solubilities of the saturated solutions were fitted via polynomial equations as a function of the mass fraction of ethanol. The CsC1-C2H5OH-H2O ternary system appeared in two liquid phases: alcoholic phase and water phase, when the mass fractions of ethanol were in the range of 10.37% to 49.59% at 35 ℃. Density and refractive index were also determined for the same ternary systems with varied unsaturated salt concentrations. Values for both experiment and theory were correlated with the salt concentrations and proportions of alcohol in the solutions. The equations proposed could also account for the saturated solutions. 展开更多

This article describes the solubility data of the quaternary systems of CsCl LaCl 3 HCl H 2O(25 ℃, HCl 13% or 23%(wt)) and CsCl LaCl 3 HAc H 2O(30 ℃, HAc 42%(wt)), and the corresponding solubility equilibr... This article describes the solubility data of the quaternary systems of CsCl LaCl 3 HCl H 2O(25 ℃, HCl 13% or 23%(wt)) and CsCl LaCl 3 HAc H 2O(30 ℃, HAc 42%(wt)), and the corresponding solubility equilibrium diagrams. Three new compounds, CsCl·LaCl 3·4H 2O, 2CsCl·LaCl 3·2H 2O and 3CsCl·LaCl 3·3H 2O have been found. From analysis of the systems by the X ray powder diffraction, TG DTG and DTA, the properties of the compounds are presented. The interpretation of the mechanism of Meyer′s reactions is discussed further and the synthesis method of four type new compounds is offered. 展开更多

Activated carbon-supported mercuric chloride(HgCl2) is used as an industrial catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination. However, the characteristic of easy sublimation of HgCl2 leads to the deactivation o the catalyst. Here, we showed that the thermal stability of the Hg/AC catalyst can be evidently improved when Cs Cl is added into the Hg/AC catalyst. Compared with the pure Hg/AC catalyst, the sublimation rate of HgCl2 from the Hg–Cs/AC catalyst decreased significantly and the Hg–Cs/AC catalyst showed bette catalytic activity and stability in the reaction. This promoting effect is related to the existence of cesium mercuric chlorides(CsxHgyCl(x+2y)) highlighted by XRD, HR-TEM and EDX analyses. Thus, reacting HgCl2 with alkali chlorides to form alkali-mercuric chlorides may be a key to design highly efficient and thermally stable mercuric chloride catalyst for hydrochlorination reactions. 展开更多

The equilibrium solubility of one CsCl-YCl3-H2O ternary section of CsCl-YCl3-9.5%HCl-H2O quaternary sys-tem at T=298.15 K was investigated by the physico-chemical analysis method and the corresponding phase dia-gram was plotted. The crystallization of two new double salts Cs4YCl710H2O (4∶1 type) and Cs3Y2Cl914H2O (3∶2 type) was successful and they were obtained from the complicated system directly. Both were identified and characterized by X-ray, thermal analysis method of TG-DTG, DSC. The fluorescence experiments show that up-conversion phenomenon does not exist in compounds Cs4YCl7·0H2O and Cs3Y2Cl9·4H2O. 展开更多
