This paper aims to standardize health, safety and environment(HSE) training matrices for effectively identifying training requirements and enhancing job competency of grassroots posts in petroleum and petrochemical ...This paper aims to standardize health, safety and environment(HSE) training matrices for effectively identifying training requirements and enhancing job competency of grassroots posts in petroleum and petrochemical enterprises. After an investigation into HSE training performance in petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, HSE training matrices templates for 239 grassroots posts involving 22 primary petroleum and petrochemical disciplines were developed based on the technical requirements of HSE training matrices templates and the studies of template development processes and technical methods at grassroots level. Applications of these templates in 12 companies demonstrate their effectiveness in improving HSE training and management for grassroots posts,strengthening risk control and promoting the application of HSE system and tools in grassroots units.展开更多
At present, the wave of digitization is sweeping the world while the rapid evolution of the consumer market,cross-border competition between digital enterprises and fierce competition among traditional enterprises are...At present, the wave of digitization is sweeping the world while the rapid evolution of the consumer market,cross-border competition between digital enterprises and fierce competition among traditional enterprises are forcing various industries to speed up their digital transformation. The oil and gas industry has been the practitioner and beneficiary of the application of digital technology for decades; however, it seems to have become the "laggard" in the new wave of digitization represented by "CBIMA"(short for cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, mobile Internet and artificial intelligence). In the context of low and middling oil prices weakening the profitability of oil and gas companies, increasing competition for alternative energy sources and accelerating energy transformation, there is great potential for promoting the digital transformation of the oil and gas industry. Rebuilding competitiveness through digital transformation is increasingly becoming the consensus in the industry. It would be advisable for Chinese petroleum enterprises to take the initiative to adapt to the trend of digital transformation, formulate clear digital strategies and transformation roadmaps, actively and steadily carry out digital pilot projects, speed up the training of digital professionals and strive to achieve the best transformation results.展开更多
The petroleum industry plays an essential role in driving China's economic development.In the past few decades,severa reforms in the petroleum industry have been implemented;however,there are still some is sues th...The petroleum industry plays an essential role in driving China's economic development.In the past few decades,severa reforms in the petroleum industry have been implemented;however,there are still some is sues that have not been resolved Moreover,with the new-normal economy,the transition to green energy and international trade disputes,the petroleum marke is also facing emerging challenges.Therefore,the purpose of the present study is to review the historical development o China's petroleum market,identify the current challenges and propose corresponding countermeasures for future prospects As a conclusion,five main challenges are highlighted totally,namely lack of marketization,excess oil refining capacity,hig external dependency,environment pollution and unstable international trading relationship.To address these challenges it is encouraged to deepen petroleum market reform,accelerate the elimination of inefficient refining capacity,diversify of supply sources,as well as improve domestic petroleum enterprises'ability to resist price risks.展开更多
There are two opposing viewpoints on which kind of network configuration provides a more competitive advantage, namely,network closure or structural holes, with the latter occupying the dominant position in the litera...There are two opposing viewpoints on which kind of network configuration provides a more competitive advantage, namely,network closure or structural holes, with the latter occupying the dominant position in the literature. Using social network analysis and negative binomial regression methods, we graph the co-patent network of Dongying's petroleum equipment industry in China and explore its impact on enterprise innovation. The analysis is based on 17 face-to-face interviews, 31 enterprise questionnaires, and 354 co-patent records from the China State Intellectual Property Office identifying cooperative innovation for the years 1988–2013. We find that this network is closed, controlled by state-owned enterprises, and its closure has positive effects on enterprise innovation performance. This may be related to China's unique industrial development history, state system and policies, regional culture and circumstances, and enterprise characteristics. Therefore, for some industries in specific regions, the advantages usually attributed to structural holes and open innovation may not necessarily apply.展开更多
