Present Situation and Thoughts of Education and Training in China's Refractories Industry

In recent years, China has fully developed in output, quality, and technical advancement of refractories, and become the biggest country in refractories production and consumption in the world. Meanwhile, education and training in China＇s refractories industry have developed rapidly. This paper introduces the present situations of undergraduate education, postgraduate education, academic education, and vocational and other training of China＇s refractories industry＇, including the student recruiting situation, subject arrangement, teachers .force, and R ＆ D equipment level, and also puts forward some suggestions for China＇s refractories education and training.

Accreditation System of Distance Higher Education in the U.S. and Its Implications for China

Distance higher education is an important component of the Chinese higher education.How to enhance the quality of distance higher education is one of the key issues to be addressed in the research areas of distance education and higher education.As a crucial step to quality improvement,the constitution of accreditation system in distance higher education balances the benefits of all parties involved.This paper explores the American accreditation system of higher education and distance education and concludes with suggestions for the constitution of the Chinese quality assurance system:1)establishing third-party institutions to share part of the government roles;2)constituting the accreditation system;3)setting up appropriate standards;4)publicizing results of quality assurance work;and 5)building internal quality assurance mechanism.This paper is aimed to provide some reference to the constitution of accreditation system of distance higher education in China,facilitate the solution of quality problems in distance education,and promote the continuous improvement and development of distance education in China.

The Rise of Women’s Education and the Modernity of East Asia:Focusing on the Education of“Virtuous Wives and Worthy Mothers”in China and Japan

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan.Looking back on the past and forward to the future,we realize modernity has become a critical issue that not only China and Japan,but the whole East Asian region should pay attention to.China and Japan are both within the“Circle of Confucius Culture”and are both modern latecomer countries.As they were coerced by western countries to enter the modern age,they shared multiple common features.An exploration of the two countries’respective rising of modern women’s education is an important path to discuss the reconstruction of gender and an important method of the course of the embodiment of east-Asian women into modernization drives.With regards to conclusion,entering the modern age,Chinese and Japanese intellectuals reshaped the female gender in terms of interpersonal relationship,value system,and knowledge structure by advocating the idea of“virtuous wives and worthy mothers”education.In the concept of virtuous wives and worthy mothers in East Asia,the Confucian ethics of“docility and virtue”is the soul,and modern scientific knowledge serves this core value.On the other hand,in the course of localization in China and Japan,this imported concept from the West has encountered a completely different historical fate.

Influence of English Globalization on China＇s Education

"Without languages,there would be no globalization and vice versa,without globalization,there would be no world languages"(Herve,2011,p117).To study linguistic globalization could not only deepen our understanding of globalization,but also increase opportunity to create a more equitable and ethically responsible world.The aim of the current essay is to briefly review the influence of English globalization(EG)on China’s education.The lesson that can be drawn from an examination of EG in China will also be discussed.

REFORMING CHINA'S HIGHER ENGINEERING EDUCATION

This article expounds that China’s higher engineering education is facing both challenges and opportunities. Some special difficulties and problems rise in the course of economic transition, and exhort us that it has been of great urgency to carry out a reform of higher engineering education. Here are put forward six measures: to explore training patterns of such an education suited to China’s national conditions; to improve university system: to transform educational ideology, and reform educational contents and methods; to establish a system of cooperation of engineering universities and colleges with industries; to strengthen construction of teacher contingent in engineering universities and colleges; and to carry out testing work of continuing engineering education and training education.

Contribution of Development of China's Higher Education to Human Rights Undertaking

Human rights are the rights and freedoms of humans in their nature, and represent the basic conditions for the free and complete development of the humankind. The educational develop- ment level is an important mark of the level of realization of human rights. China＇s higher education realized the historic development in the 1998- 2007 period, and the number of the enrolled students at common colleges and universities across the nation had exploded from 3.4 million to 18.85 million, the number one in the world.

Contributing to Sustainable Development——The Mission and Value of Higher Education

Some notes on sustainable development and scientific outlook on development were given. It is addressed that the mission of higher education to contribute to sustainable development should be reinforced and further expanded. The present situation of China's higher education and the improvements required were analyzed. Two modes of thinking (reductionism and holism) and the relationship between the mode of thinking and the mode of development were discussed. The change in the mode of thinking is the key point for Chinese higher education, and more intensive reform of teaching affairs is necessary. A proposal of the revision of China's Higher Education Act and University Constitutions was put forward.

This article reviews literatures on mathematics education in China in the last decade.It focuses on papers that were published after 2000,and Chinese Social Science Citation Index(CSSCI).Some influential journals in the field of mathematics education,such as the Journal of Mathematics Education and the Mathematics Instruction were also reviewed.The author shares in this article with international scholars the most recent research in the field of Chinese mathematics education.Mathematics education in China mainly focuses on the essence of mathematics classroom instruction,student learning of mathematics,mathematics teacher education,and its curriculum reforms.

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime".This proverb now becomes the slogan of China's international aid.This paper is based on my previous empirical studies on China's"donor logic"of aid.Rather than looking at the motives of Chinese aid and how it is challenging the Western ideas,this paper focuses on policy discourse and tries to seek the recent trends and knowledge transformations of China's international cooperation of education.

What Efforts has the Chinese Government Made to Reduce Educa­tional Inequality in Poor Areas?

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,China’s per capita education level has risen from less than two years to 9.91 years.However,as the province with the lowest per capita education level in China,Tibet has only reached the level of 6.75 years per capita.This illustrates the worrying educational inequality that still exists between China’s poorer and more developed regions.This educational inequality can also be expressed by the Gini coefficient of education.In order to eliminate this educational inequality,the Chinese government has made great efforts.The Chinese government has expanded the demand for education through the right incentive system and the nine-year compulsory education law.On the other hand,the Chinese government directly or indirectly grants subsidies to education suppliers and demanders to achieve the purpose of increasing education output.Based on the positive externality of education itself,the Chinese government attaches great importance to the cultivation of human resources for offspring,and hopes to transform China’s quantity-based demographic dividend into quality-based demographic dividend,and finally realize sustained economic growth.We believe that some education-related policies promulgated by China have indeed reduced educational inequality in poor areas to some extent,but there is still potential for progress in further addressing educational inequality in poor areas by the Chinese government.

新中国成立初期农村党员教育与农业互助合作运动的推进--以山东为中心的考察

新中国成立初期,为了消除农村党员对社会主义社会和共产主义社会的错误认识,打破“革命成功”的胜利情绪,农村基层党组织进行了一次较为系统的党员教育。通过农村党员教育,中国共产党在农村党的组织初步建立了党课制度,提高农民党员的思想觉悟和理论水平,改变部分党员存在的“个人生产、发家致富”的思想,划清党员干部先锋队与群众的界限,启发他们带头参加农村互助合作组织,并在其中发挥示范作用,有效推进了农业互助合作运动的进程。新中国成立初期,山东作为当时农村党员占比最多的省份,其农村党员教育积累了一定的经验,对当下党员干部教育有积极启示意义。
