RMB Exchange Rate,Overseas Education,and High-Quality Economic Growth

China is transitioning its industrial structure from labor-and resource-intensive industries that previously contributed significantly to the country’s GDP growth to technology-intensive industries emphasizing a highly-skilled workforce and sustainability to achieve high-quality economic growth.This paper examines the impact of the RMB exchange rate on high-quality economic growth through theoretical modeling and empirical analysis and discusses the variable of overseas education to explore the mechanism of how the RMB exchange rate and overseas education jointly impact high-quality economic growth.The research sample includes the National Bureau of Statistics data on education from 1995 to 2015,the Bank for International Settlements(BIS)data on the RMB exchange rate,and the added value of China’s high-quality economic growth estimated based on the national economy data.An empirical analysis of theoretical expectations was conducted,finding that RMB appreciation could make a positive contribution to China’s high-quality economic growth;RMB exchange rate fluctuations would impact the relative cost of overseas education and overseas returnees could have a positive impact on domestic resource utilization efficiency and domestic capacity to make sci-tech innovations,thereby injecting vitality to high-quality economic growth.This study focuses on both the RMB exchange rate and the population studying abroad,providing additional observation dimensions to existing research.

EDUCATION is the backbone of a country＇s development and described by Nelson Mandela as the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. It was therefore no surprise that after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited South Africa in early 2013. the two developing countries issued a joint communique confirming they would continue to expand cooperation in basic and tertiary education.

International Exchanges by College Nursing Students: “International Comparisons of Awareness and Challenges”

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the extent of awareness of international exchanges among college nursing students in Japan and other countries and to identify strategies to improve awareness. Method: This is an integrative literature review, consisting of scientific articles published on “Ichushi-Web,” an Internet-based retrieval service by the Japan Medical Abstracts Society (JAMAS) and Google Scholar for domestic documents and, PubMed, Medline, Cochrane library and Google Scholar for foreign documents. We employed search parameters for “the years from 2000 to 2017” in combination with “international educational exchange”, “schools, nursing”, “students, nursing”, “program evaluation”, and “awareness.” Result: The data were extracted from seven documents among a review of 29 retrieved domestic documents written in Japanese, and another seven documents among a review of 111 retrieved foreign documents written in English. All documents from Japan were reports of quantitative studies, and most documents from other countries were qualitative studies. The data from Japanese research reports were classified into four perspectives: interest in international exchange, need to participate in international exchange, understanding of different cultures and awareness of foreign settlers. The data from research reports from other countries were classified into three perspectives: understanding of different cultures, improving expertise in nursing, and awareness of the international community. Conclusions: Strategies that will enhance students’ understanding of diverse cultures are needed to increase their awareness of international exchanges.

On the cultural legacy of the Cold War:Sino-US educational exchange(1949−1990)

The Cold War affected the Sino-US educational exchange between 1949 and 1990.During those years,preparation for educational exchanges,personal contact and cross-government relations characterized the three periods of the exchanges.However,even though the relationship had developed very fast,it was by no means smooth sailing.These exchanges served as a political barometer and also acted as a conduit between the two when diplomatic relations were non-existent.It eased the tension when the relationship between the two countries had problems.The 40 years of exchanges were a win-win situation for both sides and one of the valuable cultural legacies that came out of the Cold War era.

Retrospective and Prospects for China’s International Educational Exchange in the 40th Anniversary Year of Reform and Opening Up

International exchange is an important part of China’s educational opening up,cooperation,and connection with other countries.It also serves as a unique strategic resource,helping to develop and consolidate mutual political trust,diplomatic exchange,economic and trade relations,cultural exchange and educational cooperation between China and other countries in the world,thereby enhancing China’s international image.We have seen positive contributions made to our progress towards peace among peoples,and noted the irreplaceable role played by China.International educational exchange is an important part of global international student flows.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,especially in the 40 years of reform and opening up,China has experienced a development process in education from language students to students at all levels and from quantity to quality.The change in the type of international students studying in China and of Chinese students studying abroad reflects the Chinese spirit and the broadening the appeal of China’s programs.It can be interpreted as the fulfillment of the“Chinese Dream,”contributing to national revitalization.The trade imbalance between exporting countries and destination countries in international educational exchange has been reduced.

当前,我国积极开展贸易合作,在中国—东盟经贸合作中积极践行“一带一路”政策,这为中国—东盟的职业教育合作也创造了新的机遇。我国和东盟国家的职业教育合作办学有一定的历史渊源及合作基础。研究中国—东盟职业教育合作办学体制,对于进一步促进国际教育合作、实现跨境协同育人、促进双边合作和发展都具有重要意义。

唐朝马球运动军事功用的历史探赜

回溯马球运动在大唐王朝的兴盛繁荣历程,探究马球在训练提升军队骑兵战力方面的价值功用,有助于从一个侧面或者视角审视一项体育运动对唐王朝军事武备与尚武风气的深远影响。运用历史考证、文本分析等方法,从文物、文献与文化遗存等证据链互补的视角展开论证。研究认为,马球由我国古代蹴鞠演变而来,繁荣兴盛于唐朝并逐渐形成完备的训练与竞赛体系。唐朝时期国家富强、社会稳定和文化繁荣,为马球在朝野广泛开展奠定了物质与文化基础,而其间不断发生的战事与外敌威胁,也为马球成为军队训练将士的重要手段提供了条件。结论显示,作为一项竞技性很强的运动项目,马球不仅是王公贵族和民众娱乐之戏,还是军队骑兵的重要科目。唐朝军中经常举行马球比赛活动,因此在增强士兵体能素质与马上对敌作战技巧,提高骑兵之骑术和马上砍杀技术,锻炼马匹作战对抗与奔袭能力等方面具有鲜明的军事功能,同时在塑造整个社会尚武精神、增进唐朝军事外交、增进中西文化交流等方面亦发挥了重要作用。

民族地区职业教育国际交流与合作的实践样态与优化路径

在新时代背景下,民族地区职业教育积极深化国际交流与合作,通过广泛招收国际学生、促进师生互访交流、开展合作办学项目、推进对外援助计划、设立应用外语专业、搭建国际交流平台六大办学实践举措,大大提升了民族地区职业教育对外开放水平。这些国际交流与合作实践展现出了三大显著特点:鲜明的民族地缘区域特色、多元化的合作层次与形式和显著的民族特色文化交流合作。文章结合民族地区职业教育发展实际,从树立国际化思维理念、构建国际化师资队伍、创新国际化专业内涵及推动产教融合国际化四个方面,提出了民族地区职业教育国际化发展的有效路径,为民族地区职业教育发展提供有益参考。

论文回顾和梳理了120多年来丁龙研究的成果与主体,丁龙研究的学术分期以及丁龙文化符号的再建构。研究显示,1901—2022年,中美有关丁龙研究的文献成果,据不完全统计有126篇(部),成果形式多样。丁龙研究的主体,包括新闻记者、专家学者、广播电视工作者和侨务工作者。丁龙研究的学术分期主要分为两个阶段:建构阶段(1901—2000年)和解构阶段(2000年至今)。丁龙的“视野和理想”具有更加丰富的内涵,为再构建提供了更加广阔的空间。一是从美国排华视域研究丁龙;二是从美国早期“中国观”视域研究丁龙;三是从中美文化交流视域研究丁龙。“丁龙汉学讲座教授”的设立,是20世纪初发生在美国纽约的一个历史事件,开美国汉语教学、中国文化研究之先河。如今,“丁龙”已经成为美国汉学史、美国华侨史、中美文化交流史的一个重要的文化象征和标志性文化符号。

基于社会交换理论创新老年游学发展研究

老年游学是一种新型老年教育模式,但目前还存在以游带学、学习内容不够丰富、发展动力不足、保障机制不健全等问题。根据社会交换理论的互惠性原则,各地老年大学可建立游学资源交换机制,制定标准统一的游学活动方案和服务规范,推动开展互访型游学活动,整合资源、降低成本,丰富老年游学内容,创新老年教育形式,推动各地老年教育特色化、高质量发展。
