Overlapping or Reshaping:Chinese Image in Lin Yutang’s Trans-creation Works

Lin Yutang had been working hard to spread Chinese culture in English since he settled abroad in 1936 and all his oversea trans-creation works to some extent re-shaped the Chinese image in the West.This paper makes a contrast study between the stereotyped one in the West and the real Chinese image in Lin Yutang’s trans-creation works and finally points out that Lin Yutang’s adoration for Chinese culture and his passion for establishing culture identity overseas has set a good example for building up a good national image for China today.

Discursive Construction of Chinese Military Image in the British Media

This study takes the image of China’s military as c onstructed in the British media’s military coverage of China as an object of study,and creates two reference corpora for comparative research.It is used to better analyse and compare the ideologies hidden in the British media’s coverage of China’s milita ry.From the analysis of the corpus,it is concluded that due to China’s rapid military and economic development,Western countries have developed a sense of crisis and have used media reports to instigate China’s foreign relations and mislead public think ing.

Beautification of Chinese Architectural Images in the New Media Age

From the perspective of communication science,the communication of architectural images in the new media age has an obvious beautifying trend.Due to the differences in politics,economics,and cultural environment between China and western countries,the beautification of architectural images in China is a unique phenomenon.This study classifies the beautification of Chinese architectural images into different types in terms of image communication:audience orientation,time orientation,space orientation,and cultural orientation.By investigating and analyzing relevant cases,this study explores the beautification of Chinese architectural images in the new media age and puts forward thoughts and evaluation,aiming to better comprehend the relationship between beautification and architectural communication.

A Study of the Negative Influence of English Loan Words from Chinese Origin on the Image of Chinese People——Taking “Tuhao”“Dama” and “Guanxi” for examples

With the increasing Chinese influence on the international language English, words like "tuhao" and "dama" have been included into the Oxford Dictionary. Some loan words from China have undermined the image of Chinese people. This paper, by taking"tuhao","dama"and"guanxi"for examples, analyzes the impact of these new loan words in English on the image of Chinese people. The result shows these words have negative influence on the image of Chinese people. Therefore, countermeasures should be taken to strengthen the spread of China's positive image.

After more than 60 years of development,artificial intelligence(AI)has been widely used in various fields.Especially in recent years,with the development of deep learning,AI has made many remarkable achievements in the medical field.Dermatology,as a clinical discipline with morphology as its main feature,is particularly suitable for the development of AI.The rapid development of skin imaging technology has helped dermatologists to assist in the diagnosis of diseases and has greatly improved the accuracy of diagnosis.Skin imaging data have natural big data attributes,which is important for AI research.The establishment of the Chinese Skin Image Database(CSID)has solved many problems such as isolated data islands and inconsistent data quality.Based on the CSID,many pioneering achievements have been made in the research and development of AI-assisted decision-making software,the establishment of expert organizations,personnel training,scientific research,and so on.At present,there are still many problems with AI in the field of dermatology,such as clinical validation,medical device licensing,interdisciplinary,and standard formulation,which urgently need to be solved by joint efforts of all parties.
