An Analysis of Chinese Acquisitions of Made in Italy Firms in the Luxury Sector

Outward Foreign Direct Investment （OFDI） from emerging economies has begun to increase significantly and has been growing at a faster pace than Foreign Direct Investment （FDI） from the developed world. This research seeks to assess the impact of Chinese acquisitions and their implications for the ＂Made in Italy＂ luxury sector and its firms. This paper presents a cross-case analysis of two Chinese acquisitions in order to provide some in-depth insights into the influences and the motives driving Chinese firms to invest in the luxury Made in Italy sector, the patterns and modes of the Chinese acquisitions as well as the competitive strategies and the distinctive challenges that both investors and acquired firms have to face. From the findings, it emerges that both the investor and the acquired firm need to overcome several key challenges to be mutual benefits from the acquisition.

A Cognitive Psychological Study on the Acquisition of Chinese Word’s Coloring Meaning--Chinese as a Second Language

Lexical meaning mainly includes rational meaning,grammatical meaning,and coloring meaning.Mastering the coloring meaning of vocabulary is of great significance for foreign students to use Chinese vocabulary correctly.This study mainly examines the psychological mechanism of Chinese second language learners mastering the coloring meaning of words,examines the psychological characteristics of students mastering the color meaning of words from the perspectives of second language learning theory and cognitive theory,establishes a cognitive schema for coloring meaning learning,and proposes corresponding learning models and teaching strategies.

An Exploration of the Influence of Willingness to Communicate on Second Language Communication

This qualitative study aims at exploring the influence of L2 learners' willingness to communicate(WTC) on second language communication. The participants involved in this study were 7 beginners learning Mandarin in a Chinese university whose native languages were totally different. Multiple sources of data were collected, including classroom observations, semistructured interviews and stimulated recalls. The results indicate that the students with higher level of WTC were more fluent in L2 Chinese communication, and the student whose native language or second language is Russian performed better in Chinese communication.

Design and Implementation of a Chinese Pulse Condition Acquisition System

Nowadays, with improvements in the quality of life, people are paying more attention to their health. Traditional Chinese medicine offers great advantages for daily care. In this paper, we present the development of a remote health care system, namely, Chinese Pulse Condition Acquisition System （CPCAS）, based on the principle of Chinese pulse diagnosis in Chinese medicine and a wireless sensor network. We designed a remote health care terminal with a mini-pulse collection bench to overcome the challenge of differences in pulse characters of different people. An effective measured pressure control algorithm is proposed to achieve a balance between control accuracy and control time. The special signal conditioning circuit showed good performance in analog pulse signal processing. We also performed significant research to address the challenges of symptom recognition. Other distinctive features of this system include the following： intelligent sensing, a wireless health care network, effective energy management, small size, lightweight, and the ability to be networked for remote management. In this paper, we have introduced the design and implementation of CPCAS. We also demonstrate the use of the system and give evaluations on this system by several experiments. Our results indicate that CPCAS has significant practical feasibility.
