Evaluation of Chinese Learning Efficiency of International Students in China

This paper investigates the related factors of Chinese learning engagement and performance of 377 students from three universities in Guangzhou of China,employs the value engineering method,and calculates the value coefficient of learning efficiency.From the value coefficient of Chinese language learning,it proves that over 60%of international students studying in China have a higher efficiency in learning Chinese.

Evaluation of Chinese Learning Efficiency of International Students in China:Comparing by Dimension

This paper introduces the Value Engineering method to calculate the value coefficient of Chinese learning efficiency for 377 international students by dimension.Results suggest that attention should be paid to male,European and American,rural,introverted,and“work or education needs”international students;Give full play to the driving role of the reference-type,explore the space for improving the learning efficiency of the improvement-type and attention-type,and pay attention to the problems of problem-type international students.

Evaluation of Medical Cost Lost Due to Smoking in Chinese Cities

Smoking induces substantial diseases burden on both individual and the whole society.To identify the true smoking-attributable economic loss, we introduce medical cost accounting as a means to calculate disease-speciflc medical cost, including inpatient and outpatient cost of those diseases caused by smoking. Medical cost is defined as health fesource consumption in terms of money. Cost is allocated to departrpent and services according to coeffcient of benefit and operation time. The study in 1988 indicates that total smoking-attributable medical cost is 2.32 billion RMB Yuan in China, 1.70 billion RMB Yuan for outpatient, 0.62 billion RMB Yuan for inpatient. Bio-characteristic profiling related to clinic:A new technology platform for quality evaluation of Chinese materia medica

Quality evaluation is a bottleneck restricting the modernization and internationalization of Chinese materia medica (CMM). Validity and reliability of the evaluation tool of TCM confidence in students with TCM learning experience

Objective:This study aimed to design an evaluation scale of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)confidence and then evaluate its validity and reliability.Methods:Three parallel samples with TCM learning experience were included in this current study.Randomly selected 500 nursing students were included factor analysis and reliability and validity analyses.After 4 weeks,200 nursing students were recruited to retest the reliability.The evaluation tool of TCM confidence included 6 dimensions and 25 entries.Results:Cronbach's a coefficient of the evaluation scale was 0.95 and that of the 6 observed aspects were higher than 0.90,and splithalf reliability was 0.81.For the retest reliability,Cronbach's a coefficient of the evaluation scale was 0.93 and that of the 6 examined aspects was all over 0.80.The index of content validity Scale Content Validity Index(S-CVI)was 0.92 and Item Content Validity Index(I-CVI)was 0.83–1.00.Conclusions:Observed results may indicate that the designed tool can be used to assess the TCM confidence level of students with TCM studied experience and also can evaluate results of TCM education during studying TCM lectures.

Patient-reported Outcomes (PROs): An Approach to Evaluate Treatment Efficacy of Chinese Medicine or Integrative Medicine

Chinese medicine (CM) has been an experience based practice over the past three thousand years. The safety and efficacy of CM has been practised through experience, rather than nowadays’ modern scientific measurements. In this way, the development of CM has not been keeping pace with the advance in science and technology and the progress in orthodox medicine. In order to meet the requirements of modern science and technology, an evidence based approach must be adopted. Reassurance is needed to convince people for safety and efficacy of CM and give confidence to the evidence based demands ——“Tradition is confirmed by Modern Science” (1) .

Application of Response Evaluation Criteria of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Solid Tumor in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Objective：To evaluate the objectivity and comprehensiveness of Response Evaluation Criteria of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Solid Tumor（Draft,REC-TCM-ST） in application of Chinese medicine therapeutic effect in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer（NSCLC）.Methods：A retrospective clinical research was used in 104 NSCLC patients in stages of Ⅲ-Ⅳ,53 cases were in Chinese medicine（CM） group and 51 cases were in Western medicine（WM） group.The therapeutic effect of the two groups was evaluated with both REC-TCM-ST and Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumor（RECIST）.Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the survival time.Kappa test method was used to test the consistency of the two kinds of evaluation results.Results：According to REC-TCM-ST,the effective rate on relieving tumor mass in the CM group was significantly lower than that in the WM group（P〈0.05）,but there was no significant difference in tumor-mass stable rate（P〉0.05）;the symptom of weakness in the CM group was improved significantly,indicating better therapeutic effect than that in the WM group（P〈0.01）.Karnofsky score in the CM group was significantly better than that in the WM group（P〈0.01）.In terms of survival conditions,the median survival time and the survival rate of 6 months,1 year and 2 years of the CM group were higher than the WM group.The total effective rate was 9.62%,and the total stable rate was 72.12%for 104 cases according to RECIST;while the total effective rate was 34.62%,and the total stable rate was 84.62%according to REC-TCM-ST,thus there were significant differences between the results of the two criteria（P〈0.01）,and there was also some consistency between them,but not satisfactory.Conclusions：REC-TCM-ST was used to evaluate the therapeutic effect of CM in the treatment of advanced NSCLC,which shows that its evaluation results can better reflect the advantages and disadvantages of CM,and the effectiveness of CM is more objective and comprehensive than RECIST,so REC-TCM-ST is worthy of further improvement and clinical expansion.

Some Reflections on the Evaluation of Clinical Effectiveness of Chinese Medicine in China

The randomized controlled trial （RCT） as applied to medicine started in the mid last century（1） and is now deemed as the most rigorous scientific method for evaluating the clinical effectiveness of medical interventions. The earliest RCTs in Chinese medicine （CM） appeared in the early 1980s. In the past 30 years, RCT was seen to have gradually infiltrated into and have been accepted reluctantly by CM.

Exploration of Key Points in Evaluation Criteria of Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Cancer

Although tumor node metastasis （TNM） staging in WM has been accepted and used with no reserve in the criteria of CM diagnosis and treatment of cancer, some differences still exist between CM and WM in the evaluation criterion. The reason for this focuses on evaluation criterion of effects on solid tumor made by the World Health Organization （WHO）, which does not reflect some aspects such as survival time of tumor patients or improvement in quality of life （QOL）. Therefore, forerunners in the CM field have been making efforts to try to find an evaluation criteria that would integrate CM and WM, and thus could be approved by CM and WM specialists.

The Application of Assessment of the Quality of Life in the Clinical Efficacy Evaluation System and the Selection of Questionnaires of Chinese Medicine Treating Tumors

In China, CM has been applied to treat almost every cancer patient, especially during the observation period after surgery, routine radiotherapy and chemotherapy. An Evaluation of Chinese Human-Computer Dialogue Technology

The human-computer dialogue has recently attracted extensive attention from both academia and industry as an important branch in the field of artificial intelligence(AI).However,there are few studies on the evaluation of large-scale Chinese human-computer dialogue systems.In this paper,we introduce the Second Evaluation of Chinese Human-Computer Dialogue Technology,which focuses on the identification of a user’s intents and intelligent processing of intent words.The Evaluation consists of user intent classification(Task 1)and online testing of task-oriented dialogues(Task 2),the data sets of which are provided by iFLYTEK Corporation.The evaluation tasks and data sets are introduced in detail,and meanwhile,the evaluation results and the existing problems in the evaluation are discussed.
