A Study on the Integration of Chinese Culture in High School English Teaching

The inseparable relationship between language and culture indicates that culture teaching is indispensable in English teaching.The ultimate goal of culture teaching in English teaching is to cultivate learners’cross-cultural communication skills.Cross-cultural communication is a two-way process,which requires not only knowledge of English culture but also the use of English as a medium for disseminating Chinese culture to the outside world.However,in actual English teaching,the teaching of Chinese culture is a mere formality,and the teaching effect is not obvious.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a survey and research on Chinese culture teaching in high school English classrooms to understand its current situation,existing problems,and their causes,so as to provide suggestions for Chinese culture teaching in high school.

The Application of Life-based Teaching Concept in High School Chinese Teaching

This article mainly discusses the application of the concept of life-based teaching in Chinese teaching in senior high schools,so as to improve students’interest in learning and Chinese literacy.Using the method of combining theoretical analysis and case study,this paper conducts in-depth research on the application of life-based teaching concept in Chinese teaching in high school.This paper analyzes the current situation of the development of life-based teaching concept and its specific application in Chinese teaching in senior high schools,and conducts case studies analysis.The concept of life-based teaching has important application value in Chinese teaching in senior high schools.It can help teachers to better link the teaching content with students’real life,and improve students’learning interest and Chinese literacy.

A Study of＂Chinese Cultural Aphasia＂ in Senior High School English Teaching

Based on collecting and analyzing the former studies, through the questionnaire, test paper and interview, this paper makes an investigation about Chinese Cultural Aphasia, which aims at finding out whether it exists or not and the reasons that are responsible for the phenomenon. The result shows： （1） ＂Chinese Cultural Aphasia＂ phenomenon does exist in Senior High English teaching, and students＇ ability of expressing Chinese culture in English is worse than expected. （2） The reasons that are responsible for the phenomenon are in the following： Both students and teachers lack Chinese cultural consciousness, including that teachers＇ teaching idea is not correct and teaching method is single. What＇s more, in textbooks the proportion of Chinese culture content is too little. Accordingly, some proposals are put forward to solve the problem： （1） Students should pay attention to English expressions of Chinese culture. （2） Teachers should develop double culture ability, change attitude to English teaching, change the teaching method, use the textbooks neatly, increase the check of expressions related to Chinese culture. （3） Increase the proportion of Chinese culture in the textbooks

Discussion about Status Quo of Vocabulary Teaching in Current Chinese Senior High Schools

In three-year senior middle school in China(for pupils aged 15-18), the National University Entrance Examination(orgaokao) exerts great influence on daily English teaching. In the light of the particular context of senior middle schools in which vo-cabulary instruction takes place, this paper will seek to discuss its key features, and propose a plan to advance its development.

The Construction of English Teaching Mode in Senior High School Based on OBE Theory

OBE theory focuses on students’learning outcomes and application ability,which is consistent with the requirements of the new curriculum standard.The paper attempts to apply OBE theory to innovate the construction of English classroom teaching mode in senior high schools from aspects of teaching aims,teaching activities,teaching assessments and application activities.Results show that the application of OBE in high schools is beneficial to the development of English teaching and students'learning.

Teaching evaluation is an indispensable part of the teaching system of junior high school.In order to inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture and arts,traditional Chinese painting has been paid more and more attention to in the fine arts curriculum of rural junior high school.This paper takes the classroom teaching evaluation of traditional Chinese painting as a form of fine arts in rural junior high school as the research object,and analyzes the problems existing in the classroom teaching evaluation of traditional Chinese painting in rural junior high school.This paper puts forward the corresponding improvement measures from the aspects of comprehensive evaluation object,concrete evaluation content,flexible evaluation language and diversified evaluation subjects,in order to improve the evaluation level of fine arts teachers'classroom teaching,improve students'aesthetic cognition and learning interest in traditional Chinese painting,and cultivate students'innovative thinking and spirit.

New Curriculum-Based English Vocabulary Teaching Approaches For Senior High School

A Study on the Application of the Pictographic Memorizing Method in Senior High School English Vocabulary Teaching

In this paper, upon the pictographic theory and the behaviorist theory, based on Xiang's(2007) pictographic memorizing method, the author designs the corresponding procedure of the senior high school English vocabulary teaching. This research results show that, the application of the pictographic memorizing method in senior high school English vocabulary teaching is feasible and the teaching effect is relatively good.

The Application of the Trial-Discovery Model to English Grammar Teaching in Senior High Schools

In senior high schools, great importance and attention are required to be attached to grammar teaching and learning. However, a majority of teachers either apply the traditional method or neglect grammar teaching and learning, both of which go against the ideas of the new curriculum of the high school. To solve the problem, based on the constructionist theory, Halliday＇s theory of register, and the trial-discovery model, the trial-discovery English grammar teaching model was constructed. To find out whether this teaching model is more effective than the traditional grammar teaching, an experimental study of the trial-discovery model in senior English grammar teaching is carried out. This study deals with the problem how we can improve the efficiency of grammar teaching, that is by increasing the students＇ learning interest and improving the accuracy in English writing. After the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and writing tests, the study reveals that the trial-discovery grammar teaching is more effective to stimulate the students＇ interest in learning grammar, and is more helpful to improve the accuracy and complexity in English writing than the traditional grammar teaching

A Study of EFL Reading Teaching in Senior High Schools Based on Key Competencies of Subject

With the release of English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School,the cultivation of students’key competencies of English subject has become the major concern of many English teachers in senior high schools.As an important part of English teaching,reading teaching is supposed to take the responsibility of helping students form key competencies.In this study,the current situation of English reading teaching in senior high schools is investigated to find out whether English teachers fully and efficiently carry out the cultivation of key competencies of English subject in practical teaching.Data from questionnaires and interviews of teachers indicate practical problems exist in cultivating students’key competencies in English subject in senior high school,so teachers need to have a further understanding of them and take more innovative activities to help students develop their language competence,cultural disposition,thinking quality and learning ability.

Application of Mind Map in Senior High School English Teaching

Mind map is a simple and effective graphical thinking tool for expressing divergent thinking initiated by Tony Buzan in the 1970s. The author thinks that applying the mind map to the actual teaching of English in senior high school can not only help students to establish contacts, and promote English learning, but also develops students' divergent and creative thinking.

On Cultivating Students' Ability of Listening Comprehension in Senior High School in the Northwest of Guangxi

Nowadays, the role of listening course is changed and listening teaching begins to gain high priority in foreign language learning and teaching. However, the English level of students in China is still poor, especially in the northwest of Guangxi. One of the reasons is that teachers in senior high schools have a tendency to ignore listening, because they think that listening is time-consumed. The ideological and political curriculum in high schools as a fundamental course for the implementation of moral education plays an important role in cultivating students' labor values.However,the traditional and indoctrination teaching methods used by some teachers are not suitable to cultivate these values.This article proposes a new teaching method in high schools,ideological and political lessons to cultivate students' labor values in four aspects which are students' knowledge,feeling,meaning,and action.By setting topics to emphasize on labor values,circulating and discussing these topics to cultivate labor emotions,promote thinking for firm labor faith,and promote action in the practice of labor behaviors to cultivate students'labor values,improve their rational cognition and emotional identification of Marxist labor values,as well as internalize labor values in their minds and externalizing them in practice.
