Methods Data about 20 717 subjects aged 45-59 years from the cross-sectional 2002 China National Nutrition and Health Survey were analyzed. High fat-low carbohydrate diet was scored according to the energy of carbohydrate, fat, and protein. Results Of the 20 717 subjects, 1 332 were diagnosed with hyperglycemia and 662 were newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Multivariate adjusted analysis showed that the highest score of type 2 diabetes patients was 2.75 (95% CI: 2.09-3.61). The score of type 2 diabetes patients was 1.87 (95% CI: 1.35-2.58) after further adjustment for their socioeconomic status and physical activity. No significant difference was found in the odds ratio after further adjustment for BMI, blood pressure, lipid level, and energy intake. No evidence was observed for the relation between high fat-low carbohydrate-diet score in type 2 diabetes patients due to high family income, less education, physical activity, overweight, hypertension, high TG, or low HDL level. Conclusion High fat-low carbohydrate diets, far different from traditional Chinese diets, are associated with the high incidence of type 2 diabetes in Chinese population.展开更多

In this study, we present comparative petrological studies and 40^Ar/39 ^Ar geochronology of HP and UHP pelitic schist exposed along the Habutengsu valley. The schist mainly comprises quartz, white mica, garnet, albite and bluish amphibole. In the Mn O–Na2O–Ca O–K2O–Fe O–Mg O–Al2O3–Si O2–H2O(Mn NCKFMASH) system, P–T pseudosections were constructed using THERMOCALC 333 for two representative pelitic schists. The results demonstrate that there was a break in the peak metamorphic pressures in the Habutengsu area. The northern schist has experienced UHP metamorphism, consistent with the presence of coesite in the same section, while the southern one formed at lower pressures that stabilized the quartz. This result supports the previous finding of a metamorphic gradient through the HP–UHP metamorphic belt of the Chinese western Tianshan by the authors. Additionally, phengite in the northern schist was modelled as having a Si content of 3.55–3.70(a.p.f.u.) at the peak stage, a value much higher than that of oriented matrix phengite(Si content 3.32–3.38 a.p.f.u.). This indicates that the phengite flakes in the UHP schist were subjected to recrystallization during exhumation, which is consistent with the presence of phengite aggregates surrounding garnet porphyroblast. The 40^Ar/39^ Ar age spectra of white mica(dominantly phengite) from the two schists exhibit similar plateau ages of ca. 315 Ma, which is interpreted as the timing of a tectonometamorphic event that occurred during the exhumation of the HP–UHP metamorphic belt of the Chinese western Tianshan.展开更多

METHODS: One hundred and forty CHB patients were evenly divided into two study groups, HBV pre-core mutant group and HBV pre-core wild-type group. Besides, 30 healthy blood donors were selected as a healthy control group. HBV-labeled compound, T lymphocytes subgroup, and HBV-DNA pre-core mutant were tested in the study groups. T lymphocytes subgroup were also tested in the control group. All the patients were both diagnosed by syndrome differentiation of TCM and western medicine. RESULTS: The most common syndrome in mutant group was damp-heat combined with blood stasis, and the most common syndrome in the wild-type group was damp-heat stasis in the middle-jiao. There were more cases of medium and severe hepatitis in mutant group than that in wild-type group. The content of CD4+ lymphocytes and CD4+/CD8+ ratio were decreased gradually (healthy control group>wild-type group>mutant group). In the wild-type group, severe and medium CHB patients had considerably lower level of them than mild CHB patients. However, in the mutant group, the opposite result appeared. Meanwhile, the content of HBV-DNA in mutant group was higher than that in wild-type group. CONCLUSION: Damp, heat, toxin and blood stasis were the basic pathogens of CHB, whether pre-core mutant or not. CHB with precore mutant may lead to more severe hepatitis. The decreased content of CD4+ lymphocytes and ratio of CD4+/CD8+ may be taken as one of the indices in confirming the deficiency syndrome of CHB patients with pre-core mutation.展开更多

METHODS: In this study, an experimental model was established by hypodermic inoculating the colon cancer cell line CT26 (5 × 105 cells) into BALB/c mice. The experimental treatment was orally administered with ACML-55 or PBS, followed by the inoculation of colon cancer cell line CT26. Intracellular cytokine staining was used to detect IFN-γ production by tumor antigen specific CD8+ T cells. FACS analysis was employed to profi le composition and activation of CD4+, CD8+, γδ T and NK cells. RESULTS: Our results showed, compared to PBS treated mice, ACML-55 treatment signifi cantly delayed colon cancer development in colon cancer -bearingBalb/c mice in vivo. Treatment with ACML-55 enhanced both Ag specifi c activation and proliferation of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, and increased the number of tumor Ag specific CD8+ T cells. It was more important to increase the frequency of tumor Ag specific IFN-γ producing-CD8+ T cells. Interestingly, ACML-55 treatment also showed increased cell number of NK, and γδT cells, indicating the role of ACML-55 in activation of innate lymphocytes. CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrate that ACML-55 therapy can enhance function in immune surveillance in colon cancer-bearing mice through regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses.展开更多

Methods: The 65 cases of SARS patients were treated with ICWM and 37 cases with western medicine (WM) alone as the control in our hospital from March 11 to April 30, 2003. The results were analyzed, with T subset profile tested for all the 102 patients. Results: Sixty-five cases of SARS patients treated with ICWM included 52 mild cases of whom 51 cases were cured (98.1%) and no patient died. As to the 13 severe cases in this group, 9 were cured (69. 2%) and 2 died (15. 4%). Of the 37 cases treated with WM alone, 16 out of the 18 common cases were cured (88. 9%) and 10 out of the 19 severe cases were cured (52. 6%), with the other 9 died (47. 4%). Comparison between the two groups (P=0. 061) showed the difference was close to the value for statistical significance. But considering that the number of samples was small, more cases are needed for further study. The immune function examination: in cases of the common type, after ICWM treatment, CD4 + T lymphocytes were increased from 360±247 cell/mm3 to 563±479 cell/mm3 (P<0. 05). In the group treated with WM alone, CD4+ T lymphocytes were increased from 331 ±193 cell/mm3 to 772±354 cell/mm3 (P<0. 05). As to the severe cases after ICWM treatment, CD4+ T lymphocytes increased from 352±279 cell/mm3 to 525±490 cell/mm3 (P>0. 05). In the group of severe cases treated with WM alone, CD4+ T lymphocytes reduced from 229±69 cell/mm3 to 205±108 cell/mm3 (P>0. 05). While after ICWM treatment, CD4+ T lymphocytes were significantly higher than that of the group treated with WM alone (P< 0. 05). Conclusion: Compared with the group treated with WM alone, ICWM can significantly improve the prognosis, reduce the mortality as well as improve the immune function of SARS patients.展开更多

Previous studies have found that γδT cells play a dual role in tumor immunology: tumor-promoting and tumor-controlling.The anti-tumor therapy of γδT cells has made remarkable success in clinical application. Especially in recent years, researchers have provided some novel effective ways such as γδT cells exosomes and adoptive chimeric antigen receptor-γδT cells immunotherapy. However, some problems remain to be solved, such as low expansion rate, poor targeting, and tumor microenvironment limiting the effectiveness of γδT immunotherapy. Traditional Chinese medicine is expected to play a positive role in the body immune-enhancing function, promoting the proliferation and activation of γδT cells, and inducing the differentiation ofγδT cells. In this review, we summarize the recent research progress and urgent problems of γδT cells in anti-tumor immunotherapy. 文摘BACKGROUND Chronic gastritis(CG)is a common gastrointestinal disorder characterized by inflammation of the stomach lining.Liver-stomach disharmony(LSD)syndrome is believed to contribute to CG symptoms.AIM To evaluate the efficacy and safety of microcosmic syndrome differentiation and Chinese herbal medicine(CHM)treatment in patients with CG and LSD syndrome.METHODS Sixty-four patients with CG and LSD syndrome were randomly divided into two groups:The treatment group received CHM based on microcosmic syndrome differentiation and the control group received conventional Western medicine. The treatment course lasted 12 wk.The primary outcome was improvement in dyspeptic symptoms, measured using the Nepean Dyspepsia Index. The secondary outcomes included the improvement rate of endoscopic findings, histopathological findings, and microcosmic syndrome scores and the incidence of adverse events.RESULTS After 12 wk of treatment, the treatment group showed significantly greater improvement in dyspeptic symptoms than the control group(93.75%vs 65.63%,P<0.01).The treatment group also showed a significantly higher improvement rate in endoscopic findings than the control group(81.25%vs 53.13%,P<0.05).The improvement rates of histopathological findings and microcosmic syndrome scores were not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).No serious adverse events were observed in either group.CONCLUSION Microcosmic syndrome differentiation and CHM treatment can effectively improve dyspeptic symptoms and endoscopic findings in patients with CG and LSD syndrome and have a good safety profile.Further studies with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods are required to confirm the long-term efficacy and mechanism of action of this treatment.
文摘BACKGROUND Heart failure(HF),a common cardiovascular condition,is characterized by significant morbidity and mortality. While traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is often used as a complementary approach in HF management, systematic evalua-tions of its impact on clinical outcomes,TCM syndrome scores, and B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP)levels are lacking. This study fills this gap through a comprehensive analysis of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)focusing on TCM for HF treatment. It encompasses an assessment of methodological quality,a meta-analysis,and an evaluation of evidence quality based on established standards. The results offer crucial insights into the potential advantages and constraints of TCM in HF management.RCTs on TCM for HF treatment published since the establishment of the database were searched in four Chinese and English databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP Information Chinese Science and Technology Journal, and PubMed.Methodological quality was assessed for the included studies with the Cochrane risk-of-bias assessment tool, and the meta-analysis and publication bias assessment was performed with the RevMan5.3 software. Finally, the quality of evidence was rated according to the GRADE criteria.RESULTS A total of 1098 RCTs were initially retrieved. After screening,16 RCTs were finally included in our study, which were published between 2020 and 2023.These RCTs involved 1660 HF patients, including 832 in the TCM group[TCM combined with conventional Western medicine(CMW)treatment]and 828 in the CWM group(CWM treatment). The course of treatments varied from 1 wk to 3 months.TCM syndrome differentiation was analyzed in 11 of the included RCTs.In all included RCTs,outcome indicators included comprehensive clinical outcomes,TCM syndrome scores, and BNP levels. The meta-analysis results showed significant differences between the TCM and CWM groups in terms of comprehensive clinical outcomes[risk ratio=-0.54;95%confidence interval(CI)=-0.61,-0.47;P<0.00001],TCM syndrome scores[weighted mean difference(WMD)=-142.07;95%CI=-147.56,-136.57;P<0.00001],and BNP levels(WMD=-142.07;95%CI=-147.56,-136.57;P<0.00001).According to the GRADE criteria,RCTs where"TCM improves clinical comprehensive outcomes"were rated as low-quality evidence, and RCTs where"TCM reduces TCM syndrome scores"or"TCM decreases BNP levels"were rated as medium-quality evidence.CONCLUSION TCM combined with CWM treatment effectively improves comprehensive clinical outcomes and diminishes TCM syndrome scores and BNP levels in HF patients.Given the low and medium quality of the included RCTs,the application of these results should be cautious.

文摘BACKGROUND Globally, the World Health Organization ranks major depressive disorder(MDD)as the leading cause of disability. However,MDD molecular etiology is still poorly understood.AIM To explore the possible association between mitochondrial ND6 T14502C mutation and MDD.METHODS Clinical data were collected from two pedigrees, and detailed mitochondrial genomes were obtained for the two proband members. The assessment of the resulting variants included an evaluation of their evolutionary conservation, allelic frequencies,as well as their structural and functional consequences.Detailed mitochondrial whole genome analysis, phylogenetic, and haplotype analysis were performed on the probands.RESULTS Herein,we reported the clinical, genetic, and molecular profiling of two Chinese families afflicted with MDD.These Chinese families exhibited not only a range of onset and severity ages in their depression but also extremely low penetrances to MDD.Sequence analyses of mitochondrial genomes from these pedigrees have resulted in the identification of a homoplasmic T14502C(I58V)mutation.The polymorphism is located at a highly conserved isoleucine at position 58 of ND6 and distinct mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)polymorphisms originating from haplogroups M10 and H2.CONCLUSION Identifying the T14502C mutation in two individuals with no genetic relation who exhibit symptoms of depression provides compelling evidence that this mutation may be implicated in MDD development.Nonetheless, the two Chinese pedigrees that carried the T14502C mutation did not exhibit any functionally significant mutations in their mtDNA.Therefore, the phenotypic expression of the T14502C mutation related to MDD may be influenced by the nuclear modifier gene(s)or environmental factors.

文摘Objective To study the association between high fat-low carbohydrate diet score and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in Chinese population. Conclusion High fat-low carbohydrate diets, far different from traditional Chinese diets, are associated with the high incidence of type 2 diabetes in Chinese population.
文摘Music score are the carrier of musical works, and Chinese Opera is an important part of traditional Chinese folk music. The enduring transmission method of music is an oral tradition, and only a few operatic scores(such as Kunqu Opera,Peking Opera, etc.)have been published before 1949.It was only in the 1950s where the surge of music specialists in the workforce has initiated an effort to record operatic works, resulting in the publication of Chinese Opera and vocal music. After the 1980s,various operatic texts were found stacked on top of each other. In particular, during the Seventh Five-Year Plan key scientific research project of the National Philosophy and Social Sciences, the“Chinese Opera Music Integration”series was founded to compile a comprehensive collection of vocal scores from various operas.By creating a database,a large number of rich resources on opera music can be accessed when all of its information and classification are compiled into the database.By providing the function of searching and browsing some of the vocal scores and images online, its significance is not only limited to providing complete access to operatic works but also promotes the development of academic research in opera music.

文摘Metapelite is one of the predominant rock types in the high-pressure–ultrahigh-pressure(HP–UHP) metamorphic belt of western Tianshan, NW China; however, the spatial and temporal variations of this belt during metamorphism are poorly understood. 315 Ma, which is interpreted as the timing of a tectonometamorphic event that occurred during the exhumation of the HP–UHP metamorphic belt of the Chinese western Tianshan.

文摘ABM: This study aims at exploring the distribution of TCM syndromes in CHB patients with HBV pre-core mutation (1896) and the relationship between pre-core mutation and T lymphocytes subgroup, through which to provide objective data on clinical syndrome differentiation of TCM, and further to suggest the therapeutic principle and guide clinical treatment. The decreased content of CD4+ lymphocytes and ratio of CD4+/CD8+ may be taken as one of the indices in confirming the deficiency syndrome of CHB patients with pre-core mutation.

文摘AIM:To investigate the potential role of Active Chinese mistletoe lectin-55 (ACML-55) in tumor immune surveillance. CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrate that ACML-55 therapy can enhance function in immune surveillance in colon cancer-bearing mice through regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses.

文摘Objective:To evaluate the effective treatment with integrative Chinese and western medicine (ICWM) of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The immune function examination: in cases of the common type, after ICWM treatment, CD4 + T lymphocytes were increased from 360±247 cell/mm3 to 563±479 cell/mm3 (P<0. 05). In the group treated with WM alone, CD4+ T lymphocytes were increased from 331 ±193 cell/mm3 to 772±354 cell/mm3 (P<0. 05). As to the severe cases after ICWM treatment, CD4+ T lymphocytes increased from 352±279 cell/mm3 to 525±490 cell/mm3 (P>0. 05). In the group of severe cases treated with WM alone, CD4+ T lymphocytes reduced from 229±69 cell/mm3 to 205±108 cell/mm3 (P>0. 05). While after ICWM treatment, CD4+ T lymphocytes were significantly higher than that of the group treated with WM alone (P< 0. 05). Conclusion: Compared with the group treated with WM alone, ICWM can significantly improve the prognosis, reduce the mortality as well as improve the immune function of SARS patients.

文摘It remains unclear whether limitations in activities of daily living(ADL) increase the risk of stroke in older Chinese adults. This longitudinal study used data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey to investigate the effects of limitations in ADL on the incidence of stroke in older adults.Between 2002 and 2011,46,728 participants from 22 provinces in China were included in this study.Of participants,11,241 developed limitations in ADL at baseline.A 3-year follow-up was performed to determine the incidence of stroke.During the 3-year follow-up,929 participants(8.26%) and 2434 participants(6.86%) experienced stroke in the ADL limitations group and non-ADL limitations group, respectively.Logistic regression was used to analyze the effect of ADL limitations on the risk of stroke. The results showed that after adjusting for the confounding factors gender, age, weight, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, natural teeth, hearing impairment, visual impairment, smoking, alcohol abuse, exercise, ethnicity, literacy, residential area, and poverty, the ADL limitations group had a 77% higher risk of developing stroke than the non-ADL limitations group. After propensity score matching, the ADL limitations group still had a 33% higher risk of developing stroke than the non-ADL limitations group(OR = 1.326,95% CI:1.174–1.497).These findings suggest that limitations in ADL are a stroke risk factor.

文摘Writing is an important part of language learning and is considered the best approach to demonstrate the comprehensive language skills of students.Manually grading student essays is a time-consuming task;however,it is necessary. An automated essay scoring system can not only greatly improve the efficiency of essay scoring, but also provide more objective score. Therefore, many researchers have been exploring automated essay scoring techniques and tools. However, the technique of scoring Chinese essays is still limited, and its accuracy needs to be enhanced further. To improve the accuracy of the scoring model for a Chinese essay,we propose an automated scoring approach based on a deep learning model and validate its effect by conducting two comparison experiments. The experimental results indicate that the accuracy of the proposed model is significantly higher than that of multiple linear regression(MLR),which was commonly used in the past. The three accuracy rates of the proposed model are comparable to those of the novice teacher. The root mean square error(RMSE)of the proposed model is slightly lower than that of the novice teacher, and the correlation coefficient of the proposed model is also significantly higher than that of the novice teacher.Besides, when the predicted scores are not very low or very high, the two predicted models are as good as a novice teacher. However, when the predicted score is very high or very low,the results should be treated with caution.
文摘Due to the unique features of innate immune cells, the role of γδT cells in tumor immunity has gradually attracted more and more attention. Moreover, some new strategies of γδT cells for tumor immunotherapy were proposed.
