Impact of Agricultural Modernization,Economic Growth and Industrialization on the International Competitiveness of Agricultural Products:Based on the Empirical Analysis of Cointegration and VEC Model

The expanded agricultural trade deficit in recent years has caused widespread concern about the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.In this paper,guided by Michael Porter's diamond model theory,based on agricultural production and trade data in China and the world from 1986 to 2011,we use principal component analysis,cointegration and vector error correction model,to perform an empirical analysis of the impact of agricultural modernization,economic growth and industrialization on the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.The results show that China's agricultural modernization is slow,the demand for agricultural products caused by economic growth is increased,and excessive rural labor transfer due to industrialization leads to decline in the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.China should increase its efforts to promote the modernization of agriculture and level of industry nurturing agriculture;use WTO rules to create a good international and domestic environment for the development of China's agriculture and improvement of the international competitiveness of agricultural products;give full play to the role of demand in boosting the industrial upgrading of domestic agriculture.

Achievements of 15 Years of Economic Modernization

Fifteen years have passed since China began to carry out market-oriented reforms in 1978.Over this period China's modernization drive has made great progress and peo-ple's living standards have been im-proving almost daily.From the fol-lowing comparative statistics,ac-cording to fixed price scales of 1978 and 1992,one can see the changes that have been taking place.

Discussion on the Origin of Chinese Modernization from the Perspective of Classical Marxist Theory

Chinese modernization is socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,and it is the contemporary form of Chinese socialist modernization under the grand historical vision,which has considerable research value.This paper mainly combines the theoretical vision with the historical vision,studies and discusses the origin of Chinese modernization,from China’s“Oriental society,”a modern prehistoric social form,to modern China stepping on the socialist road under the basic circumstances of world history,and takes the initiative to master the relevant logic of the historical trend.This paper also presents the research and discussion on why it is possible for modern China to realize Chinese modernization,and to solve the problem of the origin of Chinese modernization in theory and historical logic.

Modern services and China’s economic transformation

Development of a modern service industry must be accelerated if China’s economic growth pattern is to be transformed and its industrial structure upgraded. For a long time, China’s modern services have been backward and played an insignificant role in the national economy. Sluggish growth of modern services is particularly dragging on China’s otherwise surging economic and social development; and it puts a strain on industrial restructuring and efforts to build a prosperous and harmonious socialist society. This paper sheds light on outstanding issues concerning the role of China’s modern services in various arenas, including transforming the economic growth pattern, improving economic structuring, upgrading the industrial structure, facilitating technological progress and spurring changes in the employment structure. Based on in-depth analysis, this essay proposes policies and countermeasures for the promotion of modern services.

Industrialization, Modernization and Self-Organization

This paper studies the industrialization of China, a key problem of Chinese economic development with self-organization theory in system science. The dual economic structure of modern industry and traditional agriculture existing simultaneously is the typical economic structure for most developing countries. How can we break the dual economic structure? After China has carried out the peasant family output-related system of contracted responsibilities, the rural enterprises which develop swiftly and violently are setting up a bridge between traditional agriculture and modern industry. This paper models the triple economic structure formed by traditional agriculture, rural enterprises and modern industry. From the study of structure evolution, we obtain the important relationship between economic growth rate, the rate of technological progress, the growth rate of capital and the growth rate of population, deduce three critical points of population growth, and find out the conditions under which the national economic system forms a stable and orderly self-organized structure. On the basis of quantitative analysis, we propose an approach to the strategies of industrialization of China, especially to the problem of rural enterprise development and rural labor transfer, and give three conclusions and four developmental strategies about national economic system.

Developing a modernized economy from the perspective of ecological civilization

The construction of ecological civilization is to firmly grasp the core purpose of harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and realize the sustainable coexistence and development of human and nature. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, first, we should put the ecological civilization in a prominent position while building a modernized economy facing the deteriorating ecological environment. Second, we should correctly understand the dialectical relationship between the ecological civilization and the modernized economy. On the one hand, there is a contradictory relationship between the ecological civilization and the modernized economy. On the other hand, they are mutually unified. Therefore,we should put the ecological civilization construction in a prominent position, build a modernized economy under the guidance of the concept of ecological civilization, and alleviate the impact of economic development on the balance of ecosystems. Thus, it can promote a new leap in the harmonious development of human and nature. Third, if the economic development is not coordinated with ecological protection, there must be an unknown human crisis behind the prosperity of economy. Therefore, we should integrate the ecological civilization into the modernized economy and develop the economy on the premise of protecting ecological environment. What's more, there are three aspects needed to pay attention to. First, the establishment and improvement of eco-economic system with modern green development should be accelerated to provide a green development impetus for modernized economy. Next, the establishment and improvement of sci-tech innovation system with modern green development should be accelerated to provide scientific and technological support for the modern green economy system. Finally, the establishment and improvement of institutional constraint system with modern green development should be accelerated to provide institutional guarantee for the modernized economy.

Economic Engagement of Religious Ethics in the Global Economy： The Raising of Islamic Capital in an Anatolian City, Kayseri as a New Economic Power

This study attempts to clarify the role of religious values in the rise of new pious Muslim entrepreneurs in Turkey, based on field study carried out in Kayseri of 1980 to present. It particularly attempts to account for the influence of religion over the work ethic of these entrepreneurs, popularly known as ＂Anatolian Tigers＂. To achieve the goals of this research, in-depth interviews were held with 30 Turkish business people from religious and secular backgrounds. The new pious middle class is engaged in forming its own path of modernity by directly addressing the needs that are ignored by the secular republican project and its elites. The case of Turkey indicates that Westernization is not the only possible path to modernity. This new development, if it indeed continues, may prove to be one of the most important transformations determining the future of Turkey. Numerous books and articles have been published on Islamic economics but there is no details works on which provide a qualitative overview of the dynamics for the evolution of Turkish ＂Islamic capital＂. There has been little published material which assesses the acceptability of a pro-oriented system of ~conomic life to the values and moral code of the Turkish people. The Turkish situation offers a comprehensive picture of what Islamic capital can encompass, such as Islamic partnerships, holdings, banks, and business associations, and also how it can be effectively integrated within the democratic framework by adapting a ＂Muslim ethics＂ compatible with capitalism. The main aims of this study are to evaluate the social, economic, and the cultural factors, which contributed to the development of these ＂Islamist Calvinists＂ and their economic organizations in Central Anatolia. The result of this study shows the compatibility of the work ethic of pious entrepreneurs with capitalism in the case of Kayseri. This paper also illustrates the impact of local heritage and Islamic religious values on modern economic activity.

中国式现代化视域下农村集体经济组织成员身份认定规则解析

农村集体经济组织成员的身份认定、丧失及身份丧失后的权益保留,关系到农村居民的切身利益,科学的制度设计是引导乡村善治、助推共同富裕、实现中国式现代化的保障。《农村集体经济组织法(草案二次审议稿)》(以下简称《草案二次审议稿》)关于农村集体经济组织成员身份的定义及认定应以户籍为基础,但不宜强制要求成员的基本生活保障需以成员集体所有的土地等财产提供,也不应把二者之间形成稳定的权利义务关系作为成员身份定义的必要条件。丧失成员身份的规定中,可以用“户籍+财政负担工资福利”的类型划分方式,把公务员、事业编制人员等群体排除在组织成员之外。对于务工、经商、服役、就学等原因“暂时离开”的成员,其土地承包权、宅基地使用权等核心财产权益的保留时间不宜一概而论,可根据权益性质确定合理的保留期限。《草案二次审议稿》可通过细化、完善涉及成员身份的相关规定,保护农村居民合法权益,提升农村居民参与自我管理的积极性,促进乡村治理体系和治理能力现代化。
