In order to explore the influence of urban street greening, the street landscape of Changjiang West Road and Xiyou Road in Hefei City was selected as the research sample to study the design of urban street landscape under the concept of green healthy cities. The results show that the urban street landscape of Hefei City is single in design and plant type, and plant maintenance management is not good.It is proposed to strengthen the maintenance and management of street greening, increase the types of native plants, and improve cultural connotation,so as to enhance the artistry, regionalism and functionality of urban street landscape in Hefei City. 展开更多

Wetlands are widely distributed all over the world, and have many wildlife resources, which are the main pieces of the puzzle for natural resource conservation and sustainable development on earth and have important irreplaceability. In this paper, through questionnaire survey, field research, literature review, etc.,importance weight analysis was conducted by using principal component analysis, and field survey and questionnaire were carried out to collect data on ecological environment function, environmental protection function, landscape beautification function, disaster prevention and mitigation function of urban wetlands. The problems in wetland parks of Nanjing were discussed, such as lack of awareness of landscape planning, deficient late management of wetland parks, weak ability of sustainable development, and unreasonable landscape layout and function. Finally, corresponding solutions were proposed, such as adhering to the planning and design of urban wetland parks with green as the base and health as the basis, persisting in the construction of a wetland system with high biodiversity and near-natural characteristics, adhering to the principle of sustainable development, adopting the construction idea of symbiosis and circulation of urban wetland parks, strengthening education and publicity work, and paying attention to the organic combination of system protection and coordinated construction. The research can build a new development direction for the model of urban wetland parks and green healthy cities, and provide theoretical support for urban sustainable construction. 展开更多

Developed by the American Forests, CITYgreen5.0 model has been widely applied to urban forestry research and has played an important role in analyzing quantitatively the ecological benefits produced by varied green-space ecosystems. One of the functions of this model is to evaluate quickly and objectively on parts of the ecological benefits possibly produced by different design schemes for the same small-scale green-space project before the establishment. A comparative analysis was conducted by modeling partial ecological benefits potentially produced by green-spaces of two different design schemes for the same roof garden of Chuangfushidai-Junjingyuan in Shenzhen, given the growth status of plants both immediately after the establishment and 20 years later. Meanwhile, the project costs for each design scheme were also taken into consideration. The results showed that scheme II, mainly designed with a natural style of plant disposition, had a better greenery structure than that of scheme I, which was basically designed with a regular style of plant disposition. The estimated value of the partial ecological benefits produced by scheme II was larger than that of scheme I and the benefit-cost ratio of scheme II was more rational. It was suggested that scheme II be put into practice. 展开更多

The work that follows aims at evaluating the urban area/neighborhood of“Agios Konstantinos”in the city of Larissa to the extent that it meets the criteria of green-sustainable design,as these criteria are included in the LEED-Neighborhood Development system methodology. The above methodology encodes the most important elements for green urban planning and provides a quantitative assessment system with key axes those of“smart location and connectivity”,“neighborhood model and plan”and“green infrastructure and buildings”.Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate on urban space and its problems. All urban elements, such as those of the built-structured environment, its open-public areas and its natural elements formulate the urban plot.At the same time, human activities greatly affect both the plot and the living conditions.Environmental issues are often disregarded in urban space and its planning process with damaging effects on cities and, more general,on urban settlements. The advantages and benefits of formally including environmental considerations in urban planning and integrating them into urban development strategies are many,as two of the most important“urban problems”are those of the gradual deterioration and degradation of the area’s microclima and the excessive consumption of energy resources. 展开更多

Since 2014, China has been implementing the Sponge City Construction initiative, which represents an enormous and unprecedented effort by any government in the world for achieving urban sustainability. According to preliminary estimates, the total investment on the Sponge City Plan is roughly 100 to 150 million Yuan (RMB) ($15 to $22.5 million) average per square kilometer or 10 Trillion Yuan (RMB) ($1.5 Trillion) for the 657 cities nationwide. The Sponge City Plan (SCP) calls for the use of natural processes such as soil and vegetation as part of the urban runoff control strategy, which is similar to that of low impact development (LID) and green infrastructure (G1) practices being promoted in many parts of the world. The SCP includes as its goals not only effective urban flood control, but also rainwater harvest, water quality improvement and ecological restoration. So far, the SCP implementation has encountered-some barriers and challenges due to many factors. The present paper presents a review of those barriers and challenges, oftizrs discussions and recommendations on several technical aspects such as control goals and objectives; planning/design and construction of LID/GI practices; performance evaluation. Several key recommendations are proposed on Sponge City implementation strategy, Site-specific regulatory fi'amework and technical gmdance, Product innovation and certification, LID/GI Project financing, LID/G1 profcssional training and certification, public outreach and education. It is expected that the successful implemen!atiun of the. SCP not only will bring about a sustainable, eco-friendly urbanization process in China, but also contribute enormously to the LID/Gl research and development with the vast amount of relevant data and experiences generated from the Sponge City construction projects. 展开更多

Green Smart City(GSC), is one of the new types of cities which integrates eco-concepts and information technologies. As GSC construction is a resource intensive process, it requires a large amount of knowledge, information, talent and capital. Thus, setting up an innovation ecosystem is an astute way to promote the construction of a GSC. This paper, based on the case study by the Insigma Group, tries to explore the rules of innovation ecosystem building for the construction of GSCs in China. 展开更多

The Energy Internet is a fundamental infrastructure for deploying green city applications, where energy saving and job acceleration are two critical issues to address. In contrast to existing approaches that focus on static metrics with the assumption of complete prior knowledge of resource information, both application-level properties and energy-level requirements are realized in this paper by jointly considering energy saving and job acceleration during job runtime. Considering the online environment of smart city applications, the main objective is transferred as an optimization problem with a model partition and function assignment. To minimize the energy cost and job completion time together, a green workload placement approach is proposed by using the multi-action deep reinforcement learning method. Evaluations with real-world applications demonstrate the superiority of this method over state-of-the-art methods. 展开更多
