The electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beam is taken as a typical example of partially coherent electromagnetic beams, and the closed-form expressions for the degree of polarization, the degree of coherence and the spectrum of electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence are derived in the quadratic approximation of Rytov's phase structure function. Some interesting results are obtained, which are illustrated by numerical examples and are explained in physics.展开更多

The coherence model of condensed matter affirms that within a deuteron-loaded palladium lattice there are three different plasmas: electrons, ions and deuterons plasma. Then, according to the loading percentage x = D/Pd, the deuterium ions can take place on the octahedral sites or in the tetrahedral on the (1, 0, 0)-plane. Further, the present work is concentrated on Palladium because, when subjected to thermodynamic stress, this metal has been seen to give results which are interesting from both the theoretical and experimental points of view. Moreover in Pd lattice we can correlate the deuterium loading with D-Pd system phases (i.e. α,β and γ) by means of theory of condensed matter.展开更多

Actually, it can not be said that a new branch of science is beginning. In spite of experimental contributions, the real problem is that the theoretical statements of LERN are unknown. In this work, the authors analyze the deuteron-deuteron reactions within palladium lattice by means of the coherence theory of nuclear and condensed matter and, using this general theoretical framework accepted from "cold fusion scientists", it will be shown the low occurrence probability of fusion phenomena. In fact, in the coherence approach, the D-D potential exhibits double barrier features and, in this way, the D-D fusion is hampered.展开更多

Recently, due to the rapid progress made in the experimental techniques, quantum coherent effects have been experimentally demonstrated. Traditionally, the incoherent theories are capable of calculating the energy transfer efficiency, e.g.,(generalized) F?rster theory and modified Redfield theory(MRT). However, in order to describe the quantum coherent effects in photosynthesis, one has to exploit coherent theories, such as hierarchical equation of motion(HEOM), quantum path integral, coherent modified Redfield theory(CMRT), small-polaron quantum master equation, and general Bloch-Redfield theory in addition to the Redfield theory. Here, we summarize the main points of the above approaches, which might be beneficial to the quantum simulation of quantum dynamics of exciton energy transfer(EET) in natural photosynthesis, and shed light on the design of artificial light-harvesting devices.展开更多
