A Study on the Application of PBL on SPOC—Taking College English Courses for Hearing-Impaired Students for Example

Project-Based-Learning(PBL)is“teacher-led,student-centered and project-supported”.By completing projects students can learn knowledge,acquire skills,and cultivate abilities.PBL is not only applicable to specialized courses for hearing-impaired students,but also to college English courses for hearing-impaired students.SPOC can“flip”the traditional classes and increase the capacity of college English courses.Taking college English courses for hearing-impaired students as an example,this paper studies the application of PBL on SPOC(Small Private Online Course).It is proved that this model can not only greatly reduce teachers’pressure of limited class time,improve the teaching efficiency,but also can stimulate students’interest to learn and undoubtedly achieve better learning effects.

Research on Integrating Moral Education Into College English Course on the Basis of Outcomes-Based Teaching Mode

College English courses are an important part of college education with humanistic and instrumental characteristics.Outcomes-based teaching method is oriented by students’learning output,which has been applied in education for decades.Students achieve the outcomes through communication,cooperation,and exploration from which their initiative,confidence,and learning ability are improved.It is instructive to help student both develop language skills as well as enrich the knowledge of Chinese traditional culture.This paper explores the necessity of moral education and relates them to College English course on the basis of outcomes-based teaching method.It is intended to help teachers understand the theory and philosophy of outcomes-based education and put it into moral education practice in their instructional planning,teaching,and assessment of students.

A Research on the Application of Case Teaching Method in Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education in College English Course under the Concept of OBE

Since the idea of“Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education”was formally proposed in 2016,it has rapidly become a research hotspot in education reform.Although a large number of relevant studies have focused on the effective paths to curriculum-based ideological and political education in specific courses,there are few studies on how to integrate ideological and political education contents into particular courses under specific educational concepts and by particular teaching methods.Thus,this paper will explore how to improve the teaching effectiveness of curriculumbased ideological and political education in College English course with the OBE concept as the driving force and the case teaching method as the means.Finally,a few thoughts on the application of case teaching method in College English course are offered.

Brief Introduction of Intercultural Communicative and College English Course

With the acceleration of globalization, people have encountered more and more intercultural communication.In China, more and more scholars have turned their attention to the intercultural communication, and many foreign language teachers have done a lot of work in the field of research and practice of cultural teaching. This research is based on the implementation of interactive and exploratory teaching methods in college English courses.The analysis done for this research signifies the importance of interactive-exploratory teaching methods,identifying the characteristics of interactive teaching methods,and specifying the purpose of conducting interactive-exploratory teaching methods as a reference for educators.

An Analysis of the Research Trends in Blended Learning Methods in Teaching College English Reading Courses

Curtis J.Bonk defined blended learning as a combination of face-to-face and computer-assisted online learning instruction since it was gradually formed after the emergence of the Internet[1,2].Breen pointed out that blended learning is a learning method that combines online and offline learning activities and resources[3].The blended learning approach is popular in school and e-learning.Moreover,it is one of the important trends in promoting higher education reform in the coming years.Therefore,it has attracted the attention of international researchers[4].In this paper,42 articles in Scopus(established by international institutions)and 30 articles in CNKI(found by Chinese mainland institutions)on the query of“college English reading blended learning”in the field of education were analyzed.Furthermore,CiteSpace software was used to analyze the research hotspots and trends with the keyword clusters and citations that occurred in the last two decades(1999 to 2022)to foresee future research prospects.

An Exploration on ＂Cultivating Character＂ in the Courses of College English

The fundamental purpose of Virtue education for college students is to carry out the education policy of moral education first and cultivate college students＇ correct attitude towards life, work, helping them achieve the happy life. This paper, based on the understanding of the inner link between the character of the college English course culture contains and students＇ virtue cultivation, analyzes the characteristics of our College English curriculum culture such as generation, counterbalance and practice and puts forward strategies to cultivate student＇s deliberating, self-supervision and cautious action by teachers＇ teaching wisdom, the design of the teaching evaluation and contents and students＇ learning experience step by step and so on.
