The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of English reading strategies by the science-oriented college students in relation to their genders. The participants were 401 first year science-oriented college students. A reading questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results showed that the male and female students existed significantly difference in reading strategy use, with female students employed reading strategies significantly more frequently than did the male students. 展开更多

Curtis J.Bonk defined blended learning as a combination of face-to-face and computer-assisted online learning instruction since it was gradually formed after the emergence of the Internet[1,2].Breen pointed out that blended learning is a learning method that combines online and offline learning activities and resources[3].The blended learning approach is popular in school and e-learning.Moreover,it is one of the important trends in promoting higher education reform in the coming years.Therefore,it has attracted the attention of international researchers[4].In this paper,42 articles in Scopus(established by international institutions)and 30 articles in CNKI(found by Chinese mainland institutions)on the query of“college English reading blended learning”in the field of education were analyzed.Furthermore,CiteSpace software was used to analyze the research hotspots and trends with the keyword clusters and citations that occurred in the last two decades(1999 to 2022)to foresee future research prospects. 展开更多

Then, how to correctly face the changes in the Internet era is placed in fron... Network media has become more and more involved in our daily life. It has become a part of modern life that cannot be stopped or rejected. Then, how to correctly face the changes in the Internet era is placed in front of everyone. Students need to “learn how to use the media to get their all-round development, effectively prevent the foreign information pollution, and actively guide students to a truly rational attitude for WeChat, blog and micro-blog”. It is a kind of media literacy being confronted with the network’s ability to consciously resist the harmful information, but also to benefit their own development and firmly grasp the information, so as to make full use of the convenience of network self promotion. “Screen reading” network plays an important role in college students’ life, and the fragmentation, the text features of the writing ability of college students also have a strong impact; this paper focuses on the influence of college students in the network reading and writing patterns on their writing ability and influence.
