Knowledge,attitude,practice and factors that influence the awareness of college students with regards to breast cancer

BACKGROUND Breast cancer has the highest incidence of all global cancers.Recent data show that breast cancer is becoming more prevalent in the younger population.Therefore,preventing breast cancer in young populations is a significant priority for public health.Relevant investigations of the incidence of breast cancer in young females have already been undertaken in China;however,none of these previous studies investigated the awareness of female college students with regards to breast cancer.AIM To investigate the knowledge,attitude,and practice(KAP)of female college students in Yunnan with regards to breast cancer and a series of influential factors.METHODS A random sample of 1387 female college students from two universities in Dali city were investigated by questionnaires.RESULTS The total KAP scores for breast cancer were 9.86±2.50,3.19±2.01 and 13.31±2.49,respectively.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that educational grade was the most significant influential factor underlying the level of knowledge female college students had with regards to the treatment of breast cancer(P<0.05).Registered residence and educational grade were the most significant factors that influenced attitude(P<0.05).Age,registered residence,grade and major,were the most significant factors that influenced behavior(P<0.05).The KAP of female college students in western Yunnan with regards to breast cancer were low.CONCLUSION There is an urgent need to provide standardized publicity and educational strategies in China to improve the knowledge,attitude,and practice,of college students with regards to breast cancer.

Chinese college students' understanding of Internet ethical issues: A survey of awareness

Purpose: This study examines Chinese college students’ awareness of ethical issues surrounding the use of information resources and the Internet and their attitude to these issues. Design/methodology/approach: A survey was conducted. Two hundred questionnaires were distributed to students of 9 universities at different levels in Tianjin, China; 171 were returned. Descriptive statistics were performed to analyze the data. Findings: The results indicate that Chinese college students usually ignored the negative influence of fake or pornographic or other indecent information, invasion of privacy and theft of confidential information, and violation of intellectual property rights. Although they could distinguish to some extent between ethical and unethical behavior, they were not concerned about others’ unethical behavior on the Web. The study also indicates that gender, age, academic major and expertise in using computers were related to the students’ awareness of ethical issues relating to the use of the Internet and their attitude to these issues.Research limitations: The sample is limited to the universities in Tianjin. A larger sample, which includes colleges and universities in the western or other developing areas in China, is needed to further validate our findings.Practical implications: The study helps educators and academic librarians better understand Chinese college students’ awareness of and attitude to ethical issues surrounding the use of the Internet. It thus could assist them in the improvement of information ethics education for college students.Originality/value: This study was one of the first empirical studies to investigate the factors influencing Chinese college students’ awareness of and attitude to Internet ethical issues.

Dementia-related contact experience,attitudes,and the level of knowledge in medical vocational college students

BACKGROUND Dementia is a severe neurological and psychological disease that occurs in older adults worldwide.The knowledge and attitude of medical-vocational college students play an important role in supporting primary healthcare systems.AIM To investigate the level of knowledge,contact experience,and attitudes toward dementia among medical-vocational college students in China.METHODS A cross-sectional survey was conducted,and 3-year medical and medical-related students from eight vocational colleges in Anhui province were recruited.The contact experience,attitudes,and knowledge level of students toward dementia were assessed using a questionnaire designed according to the Chinese version of the Alzheimer’s Disease Knowledge Scale(ADKS).RESULTS A total of 2444 medical and medical-related students completed the survey,of whom 86.7% of respondents had interests and concerns regarding Alzheimer’s disease(AD),and 29.2% of respondents had experiences of contact with dementia patients.Overall attitudes toward dementia were negative.Only 35.4% of students were interested in participating in the caregiving of dementia patients.The mean score of students’ knowledge about AD as assessed by the ADKS was 21.16(standard deviation,3.43) out of 30.CONCLUSION Dementia-related knowledge of medical-vocational college students was at a medium level,and their overall attitudes toward dementia were negative.

Chinglish:A Survey and Analysis of Chinese College Students' Attitudes about “Wrong English”

Chinglish exists widely in college students' speaking and writing. This paper explores college students' attitudes toward Chinglish through a questionnaire. A primary finding is that most college students accept Chinglish as legitimate communication, considering it to be 1) a tool to energize or vivify the social atmosphere, and 2) a source of catchwords and phrases specifically employed in communication with friends. Despite their acceptance and use of Chinglish, the questionnaire reveals, also,that college students lack linguistic understanding of Chinglish and are unaware of how it may interfere with acquisition of correct English. The analysis of the questionnaire also has some implications in college English teaching.

Study on the Ecological Ethics of Agricultural College Students

From the perspective of environmental sociology,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the environmental awareness and behaviors of undergraduates from nearly all fields of majors in Sichuan Agricultural University. According to the investigation results,there are los of problems,for example,the college students generally do not have adequate knowledge about environment and are unclear about the existing na- tional ecological law system; their attitude towards environment is often influenced by their majors; their evaluation of environment is far from the reality; their environmental behaviors are weakly restrained and conserved. According to these problems,related suggestions were proposed.

The Ethics and the Meaning of Life among College Students

The concern of the ethics and the meaning of life in young adults became universal and are present in all contexts of human life. Such universality is due to the development of modern rationality, to establish a relationship between the intrinsic theoretical dimensions (scientific) and practical dimensions (ethical), originated that are present in the own array of knowledge. This descriptive cross-sectional study, aims to identify the values of the ethical dimension and meaning of life defended by the college students of the Universities of Madeira, Portugal and Fortaleza, Brazil. The sample consists of 605 University students (Madeira = 225 and Fortaleza = 380), with an average age of 21 years and a standard deviation of 2. We used the questionnaire on values (adapted from the European Values Survey). Most of the young people referred to have a religion (60% wood and 78.4% stronghold), being the most Catholic, however, present in your frequency disinterest and, yet, in Brazil there is a greater diversity of religions. Supporting the intervention of religious institutions in situations of everyday life is accepted mostly by Brazilians, with the exception of politics (35.5%). On the other hand, the university students of the University of Madeira understand that Religious Institutions should only give their opinion on racial discrimination (76.6%). Believe in God (90.8% and 55.1% Stronghold) and Soul (80.3% and 66.4% Stronghold) are beliefs more referred to by college students. These results are intended to contribute in the field of research on ethical values and meaning of life in young people. This study contributes to future comparative research among university students and to developing strategic programs in education and health, increasing the success and excellence in the formation of a full citizenship, preventing the fanaticisms and the social discrimination that today devastate the collective globally.

HIV/AIDS related perception and behavior: A comparative study among college students of different majors in China

Objective:In order to carry out proper education and intervention of AIDS based on different features and demands of different majors,this study aimed to compare the difference of college students from six majors in China in the aspects of AIDS-related knowledge,attitudes and behaviors.Methods:A questionnaire survey was carried out among 18,644 students in 30 colleges/universities from 9 provinces of China,who were recruited through stratified cluster sampling.AIDS-related knowledge,attitude,condom-use intention,self-efficacy and sexual behavior of these students were investigated.Results:AIDS-related knowledge level of students majoring in education was the lowest while that of medical students was the highest as well as highest self-efficacy of condom use.Students of music or fine arts had the strongest intention to use condoms,while the students majoring in education had the weakest.The sexually active percentages of male students from different majors ranked as follows:music or fine arts(29.5%),minority nationality(12.2%),science&tech(10.9%),medicine(10.6%),educationmajor(10.0%),and liberal arts(8.2%).Among female students,the rank was music or fine arts(11.0%),science&tech(6.2%),education-major school(4.5%),minority nationality(4.5%),liberal arts(4.1%),and medicine(2.8%).Conclusion:It is urgent to enhance proper AIDS-related education and intervention based on the features and demands of students from different majors or universities,for example,to enhance comprehensive AIDS prevention education among students major in education and to increase behavioral skills to prevent sexually transmitted diseases among students from colleges or faculty of music or fine arts.

Investigation and analysis of 14034 college students on COVID-19 and its countermeasures and suggestions

Objective:To understand the current situation of college students'knowledge,cognitive attitude and behavior(KAP)towards the prevention and control of Corona Virus Disease 2019(Corona Virus Disease 2019,COVID-19)during the epidemic,so as to provide theoretical basis for college students'resumption of study and campus prevention and control.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 16,410 college students by using the convenient sampling method of,One-Way ANOVA and Logistic regression analysis of the survey data.Results:The total awareness rate of college students on COVID-19 was 85%,the average knowledge score was(70.4±10.0),and the proportion of high cognition was 74.5%.The average attitude score of college students was(3.78±0.55),and only 3.9%of them held a positive attitude.The average score of college students'protective behaviors was(19.35±1.69),and 48.8%of them took good protective behaviors.Binary logistic regression analysis showed that the proportion of students with high cognition who adopt good protective behaviors is higher than that of students with low cognition(95%CI:0.621-0.752).The proportion of students with a positive attitude to adopt good behaviors was higher than that with a negative attitude(95%CI:1.398-2.009),Spearman rank correlation analysis results showed that there was a weak positive correlation between cognition and attitude(r=0.056,P<0.05),and a weak positive correlation between cognition and behavior(r=0.118,P<0.05),and a weak positive correlation between attitude and behavior(r=0.038,P<0.05).Conclusion:College students have a good overall cognition of COVID-19,but their attitudes and protective behaviors need to be further improved.Therefore,knowledge education,behavioral intervention and psychological counseling on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control among college students should be strengthened to improve their prevention and control ability and physical quality.

Factors affecting college students’attitudes towards carpooling

As a sustainable mode of travel,carpooling is an effective solution to environmental and energy problems,but it has not been fully utilized.The research on carpooling attitudes,especially for college students,still needs to be improved.In response to this problem,this paper aims to investigate the effect of personal attributes,travel attributes,attitude attributes and other attributes of students on carpooling attitudes in China.To collect the data,an online questionnaire survey was implemented at Shenzhen University,and 514 students participated.Based on the samples,the multinomial logit model is used to explore the contribution of all variables.The model results showed that personal attributes such as sex and age had no significant effect on the attitude of college students towards carpooling.The safety of carpooling and its high cost make college students have a neutral attitude towards it.The most concerning factor for college students in carpooling is comfort.These findings can provide valuable suggestions for measures to be taken in response to different attributes affecting students’attitudes and are particularly important for the university and government to make optimal decisions to motivate students to select carpooling.

“健康中国”背景下河南省大学生体育行为、体育态度与健康需求调查研究

采用问卷调查、专家访谈、文献资料、数理统计等研究方法,调查河南省大学生的体育行为、体育态度和健康需求,分析各重要指标间的关系,结果发现:①学生体育参与率较疫情时期有所上升,但还是不如疫情之前;②部分学生虽然参加体育锻炼,但运动频率不够,达不到增强体质的要求;③绝大部分学生认为体育锻炼能增进健康,但部分没有付诸于实际行动;④学生普遍希望能从微信平台获取健康知识和信息。

高职护生对精神障碍患者的疾病态度与其同理心的相关性

目的了解高职护生对精神障碍患者的疾病态度与其同理心现状,并探索两者间的相关性。方法于2020年9月至12月采用分层抽样选取泰州职业技术学院2019级在校护理学生278人进行问卷调查,完成医学生版临床医生对精神疾病态度量表(MICS-MS,中文版)和杰弗逊同理心量表护生版(JSPE-NS)问卷。结果高职护生的MICA-MS总分(43.83±7.96)分,具有一定歧视态度;JSPE-NS总分(101.80±15.93)分,总体水平偏低。女生对精神疾病态度明显好于男生,其对患者的同理心水平明显高于男生;家庭文化背景较好的护生疾病态度和同理心水平明显高于家庭文化背景偏低者,亲属有患精神疾病和与精神障碍患者有共同生活史的护生对精神疾病歧视态度较轻,且其同理心水平较高,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。高职护生同理心水平可影响其对精神障碍患者的疾病态度(P<0.001),且呈负相关(P<0.01);性别、家庭背景、亲属患精神疾病、与精神障碍患者有频繁接触或生活史等4个其他因素也明显影响护生对精神障碍患者疾病态度(P<0.001)。结论高职护生对精神障碍患者同理心水平偏低,总体表现为悲观歧视态度,护理教育者需分析其诸多影响因素,有的放矢,努力改善并提升护生对精神障碍患者护理工作的岗位胜任力。

思政视域下传统医德融入高职护生培育的策略研究

此文主要探讨了大思程政视域下传统医德融入高职护理院校学生培育的策略。通过对传统医德内涵与特点的分析及其在高职护生职业道德教育中作用的探讨,提出了将传统医德融入高职护理院校教育的策略。研究表明,传统医德的传承可以帮助护理学生树立正确的人文价值观和职业道德观,提高其实践能力和职业素养,对于护理人才的培养和护理质量的提升具有积极的促进作用。

我国四省大学生结核病防治核心知识、信念和行为现状的调查分析

目的:了解我国在校大学生结核病防治核心知识、信念和行为基本情况,为制定科学有效的高校健康教育策略提供依据。方法:2022年4-7月,采用分层整群抽样及自行设计的网络问卷对浙江、四川、湖北和甘肃4省80所高校中一、二年级在校大学生进行调查,共收集问卷18 438份,获得有效问卷17 491份,问卷有效率为94.86%。使用χ2检验分析知识知晓率差异。结果:大学生核心知识总知晓率为82.20%(115 019/139 928);单一知晓率中,“如果怀疑自己得了肺结核应到当地结核病定点医疗机构看病”最高[97.14%(16 991/17 491)],“肺结核(肺痨)是慢性传染性疾病”最低[53.68%(9390/17 491)]。不同人口学特征的大学生中,总知晓率较高的组为女生[83.80%(65 333/77 960),χ^(2)=309.733,P<0.001]、医学专业[84.79%(27 701/32 672),χ^(2)=194.870,P<0.001]、本科高校[83.25%(66 017/79 296),χ^(2)=139.249,P<0.001]、患过结核病[84.82%(760/896),χ^(2)=4.239,P=0.040]和接受过健康教育[83.62%(97 111/116 128),χ^(2)=948.032,P<0.001]。参与调查的大学生中,96.23%(16 831/17 491)认为学校有必要开展结核病防控宣传教育,且92.37%(16 156/17 491)愿意参加及94.66%(16 557/17 491)会主动将学到的知识传授给他人;假设自己患病,10.99%(1923/17 491)反应为无所谓/情绪低落/绝望/无助;假设身边的人患病,11.49%(2009/17 491)选择与其疏远/拒绝来往。12.00%(2099/17 491)的大学生当前/既往吸烟,66.47%(11 627/17 491)经常熬夜,55.33%(9677/17 491)睡眠不足,30.88%(5401/17 491)身边同学有随地吐痰现象,37.57%(6572/17 491)做不到咳嗽、打喷嚏时均能遮挡口鼻。结论:学校结核病防治核心知识在大学生中尚未完全普及。应针对男生、专科和非医学专业等大学生进一步开展健康教育,同时注重引导学生树立关爱结核病患者的信念和养成健康的生活方式。

大学生结核病相关知识、态度调查及相关性研究

目的 对某高校大学生的结核病相关知识认知和态度进行调查,并分析相关影响因素,结合分析结果提出相关结核病预防控制措施。方法 2022年6月—2023年6月从本校选择2000名大学生进行调查,采用调查问卷的方法对大学生结核病相关知识以及态度进行了解。结果 本研究对2000名大学生进行调查,其中回收的有效问卷1897份,问卷有效率为94.85%。调查后发现,1897名大学生对结核病知识的知晓率仅有38.48%,尤其是结核病和AIDS有关的认知、免费治疗机构以及结核病的正规治疗时间认知较低。结核知识平均得分为(6.16±2.83)分。对影响大学生结核病知识和态度的相关因素采用多因素分析方法得知,结核病相关知识的了解与学生的年级、家庭住址、结核病定点医院及时就诊、愿意与肺结核患者正常交往、专业类型、受过结核知识教育等有关。结论 整体来看,大学生对结核病相关知识的认知有待提高,因此学校应该重视健康教育,加大宣教力度,以此促进大学生结核病预防和治疗意识。

安徽省高职护生临终关怀认知与态度的调查分析

采用自编的护生临终关怀知识及态度问卷对安徽省皖南、皖中、皖北3个高职院校3个年级的在校护理专业606名学生进行问卷调查,了解安徽省高职护生临终关怀认知与态度的现状及其影响因素。调研显示,安徽省高职护生临终关怀认知程度处于中上水平,对开设临终关怀课程态度较积极,而在毕业后愿意选择临终关怀工作的积极性不高。

大学生心理健康与父母养育方式、社会责任感、生命态度的相关性

目的:研究大学生心理健康与父母养育方式、社会责任感、生命态度的关系,为大学生心理健康干预提供参考依据。方法:采用整群抽样法,选取3所高校一、二、三3个年级大学生共1542名为调查对象,采用一般资料调查表、父母教养方式量表(Parental Bonding Instrument,PBI)、大学生社会责任感问卷、生命态度量表、一般健康问卷(General Health Questionnaire-20,CHQ-20)进行调查。结果:单因素结果显示,心理健康评分、生命态度评分及父母养育方式中父母关爱得分、父母鼓励自主、父母控制评分在留守经历、成长地、独生子女、贫困生、家庭结构方面存在显著差异(P<0.05);不同人口学特征的大学生社会责任感评分差异无统计学意义。Pearson相关分析显示,大学生心理健康与社会责任感呈负相关性(r=-0.318,P<0.05),与生命态度呈负相关性(r=-0.578,P<0.05),与父母养育方式中分维度父母关爱得分、父母鼓励自主评分呈负相关性(r=-0.428,-0.443;P<0.05),与父母控制维度评分呈正相关性(r=0.365,P<0.05)。多重线性回归分析显示,大学生有留守经历、成长地为农村、非独生子女、单亲或其他家庭、家庭贫困、父母关爱评分低、父母鼓励评分低、父母控制评分高、生命态度评分低,则心理健康水平低(P<0.05)。结论:大学生心理健康整体处于良好状态,与父母养育方式、生命态度有关。

高校学生管理中教育伦理问题的审视与反思
