In this paper,a statistical cluster-based simulation channel model with a finite number of sinusoids is proposed for depicting the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communications in vehicleto-everything(V2X)environ...In this paper,a statistical cluster-based simulation channel model with a finite number of sinusoids is proposed for depicting the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communications in vehicleto-everything(V2X)environments.In the proposed sum-of-sinusoids(SoS)channel model,the waves that emerge from the transmitter undergo line-of-sight(LoS)and non-line-of-sight(NLoS)propagation to the receiver,which makes the model suitable for describing numerous V2X wireless communication scenarios for sixth-generation(6G).We derive expressions for the real and imaginary parts of the complex channel impulse response(CIR),which characterize the physical propagation characteristics of V2X wireless channels.The statistical properties of the real and imaginary parts of the complex CIRs,i.e.,autocorrelation functions(ACFs),Doppler power spectral densities(PSDs),cross-correlation functions(CCFs),and variances of ACFs and CCFs,are derived and discussed.Simulation results are generated and match those predicted by the underlying theory,demonstrating the accuracy of our derivation and analysis.The proposed framework and underlying theory arise as an efficient tool to investigate the statistical properties of 6G MIMO V2X communication systems.展开更多
I, an introvert, have observed the introverted EFL teachers in my work place in terms of the characteristics of communica-tion in class since I felt some of my personality traits get in the way in my class. The findin...I, an introvert, have observed the introverted EFL teachers in my work place in terms of the characteristics of communica-tion in class since I felt some of my personality traits get in the way in my class. The findings correspond to Brian R. Little's per-sonality psychology.Brian Little has revealed that introverted people lack mutual gazes and tend to talk past each other, and intro-verted EFL teachers are no exception according to my study. In the perspective of personality psychology, avoiding too much eyecontact is not because of a lack of confidence, but a way for introverts to reduce the outside stimulation. This explanation is reason-able but not good for communication in EFL teaching. In fact it is contradicted with the notion that language teachers should be amaster of communication themselves. Then I managed to identify these seemingly anti-social characteristics of communication andseek for some other means to compensate for what might be missed out in class communication. Brian Little clarifies the relation-ship between free trait, core projects and acting out of character. I conduct an empirical study by using questionnaires in which tenhigh-achieving university introverted English teachers with ten-year teaching experiences illustrates their initial problems in EFLteaching as well as their possible solutions. By collecting some characteristics of communication in class, I provide a three-stepcounter strategy for introverted EFL teachers to survive language class communication. First, accept the"weakness"and feel com-fortable with it. Second, set goals to practice it. Third, look for other means to compensate for it. This counter measure conforms toBrain Little's theory on the relationship between"free trait","core project "and"acting out of character". In order to study the on-board diagnosis network's security and reliability, a simulation model for the on-board diagnosis network of high-speed Maglev trains with the optimal network engineering tool (OPNET) was built to analyze the network's performance, such as response error and bit error rate on the network load, throughput, and node-state response. The simulation model was verified with an actual on-board diagnosis network structure. The results show that the model results obtained are in good agreement with actual system performance and can be used to achieve actual communication network optimization and control algorithms.展开更多

Finally, the signal attenuation characteristics of the galvanic coupling IBC were measured along different signal transmission paths of actual human bodies, while the corresponding mathematical simulations based on the proposed transfer function were carried out. Our investigation showed that the mathematical simulation results coincided with the measured results over the frequency range of 100kHz to 5MHz, which indicated that the proposed transfer function could be useful for theoretical analysis and application of the galvanic coupling IBC.展开更多

Firstly, the transfer function of the galvanic coupling IBC is deduced, and the in vivo measurements results and the corresponding mathematical simulations results based on the proposed transfer function are discussed. Secondly, a finite-element method for modeling the whole human body is introduced, and the simulation results of the galvanic coupling IBC based on the whole human body and the corresponding in vivo measurement results are discussed. In order to reveal the radiation characteristics of column plasma antenna, we chose the finite-difference time- domain (FDTD) numerical analysis method to simulate radiation impedance and efficiencies of each channel for a few sets of plasma densities and plasma collision frequencies. Simulation results demonstrate that a plasma antenna shares similar characteristics with a metallic antenna in radiation impedance and efficiency of each channel when an appropriate setting is adopted. Unlike a metallic antenna, a plasma antenna is capable of realizing such functions as dynamic reconfiguration, digital control and dual-channel communication. Thus it is possible to carry out dual-channel communication by plasma antenna, indicating a new path for modern intelligent communication.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate nursing students’assessment and communication skills through an objective structured clinical examination(OSCE)within a high-fidelity simulation using a student-simulated patient(SSP)and analyze...Objective:To evaluate nursing students’assessment and communication skills through an objective structured clinical examination(OSCE)within a high-fidelity simulation using a student-simulated patient(SSP)and analyze the validity,reliability,degree of difficulty,and discriminability of the OSCE.Methods:A descriptive study was conducted at one nursing school in Macao.All scenarios were designed using a high-fidelity simulator combined with SSPs.A convenience sample of 54 baccalaureate nursing students completed the OSCE.The nursing assessment OSCE checklist(NAOC)and the communication evaluation rubric(CER)were used as observational measurements with three-point Likert scales(2=Achieved,1=Partly achieved,0=Not completed/Incorrect).Results:Difficulty coefficients of the exam were 0.63 for nursing assessment skills and 0.56 for communication skills.The discrimination index of the majority items of the NAOC(86.4%)was>0.20,showing a better to good discriminability.The items of the CER had satisfactory indexes of item discrimination(from 0.38 to 0.84).Students received high scores in conducting blood oxygen saturation and cardiac and lung auscultation but low scores in vomiting and diarrhea assessment.Students presented good communication skills in eye contacting and listening,but culture assessment needs to be improved.The students with experiences in simulation or simulated patient(SP)interactions had better assessment and communication skills than students without those experiences.There was a positive relationship between nursing assessment and communication skills(r=0.67,P=0.000).Conclusions:SSPs were involved in enhancing the realism of interactions in simulated scenarios.Nursing students can conduct nursing assessments specific to patient conditions,explain the conditions to the patient,and ensure that the patient remains informed at all times of the precautions to be taken.However,students’cultural awareness and some communication skills need further training.With moderate difficulty and high discrimination index,OSCE showed satisfactory reliability and validity.展开更多

This mode imposes rigid restrictions upon transmitted data. All circulating data should comply to the defined time interval in which their reliability is definite. In other word communication has to be predictable and time-constrained in order to produce control output in time. This characteristic corresponds to concept 《determinism》 that characterizes an ability of a protocol to guarantee equivalent and opportune network access with the delay not exceeding definite time interval. For development of a deterministic and noise-resistant protocol is necessary to carry out analysis of an error model obtained by the computer simulation of an electromagnetic process in conditions of variety and intensity of interference. The formalization of the error model gives computer simulation an ability to get the error sequence directly without simulation of the electromagnetic process. The results of the simulation of an error sequence can be used for the expediency analysis of a noise-resistant encoding and the analysis of an error-correcting ability.展开更多

The fundamental idea is to change the individual behavior of each vehicle by exchanging information among traffic participants to realize a cooperative and more efficient transportation system. Certainly, the evaluation of such systems is a comprehensive and challenging task in a real world test bed, therefore, simulation frameworks are a key tool to analyze IVC. Several models are needed to emulate the real behavior of a VANET in all aspects as much realistically as necessary. The intention of this survey is to provide a comprehensive overview of publications concerning IVC simulations of the year 2013 and to see how IVC simulation has changed since 2009. Based on this analysis, we will answer the following questions: What simulation techniques are applied to IVC? Which aspects of IVS have been evaluated? What has changed within five years of IVC simulations? We also take a closer look at commonly used software tools and discuss their functionality and drawbacks. The PC and MCS-96 chip controller employ A/D and D/A boards (with photoelectricity isolation) to transfer measur ment and control information about homing head, gyro and rudder and utilize the digital hand shaking board to build correct communication communication protocol. In order to satisfy the real-time requirement of HLS, this paper first simplifies the aerodynamic data file reasonably, then builds a PC software with C language. The program of the controller part is made with PL/M language. The simulation of HLS based on PC is done with the same sampling period of 10ms as that of YH-F1 and the experiment results are identical to those of digital simulation of the homing anti-tank guided missile.展开更多

A distributed real-time multiple vehicle c...A global planning algorithm for intelligent vehicles is designed based on the A* algorithm, which provides intelligent vehicles with a global path towards their destinations. A distributed real-time multiple vehicle collision avoidance(MVCA)algorithm is proposed by extending the reciprocal n-body collision avoidance method. MVCA enables the intelligent vehicles to choose their destinations and control inputs independently,without needing to negotiate with each other or with the coordinator. Compared to the centralized trajectory-planning algorithm, MVCA reduces computation costs and greatly improves the robustness of the system. Because the destination of each intelligent vehicle can be regarded as private, which can be protected by MVCA, at the same time MVCA can provide a real-time trajectory planning for intelligent vehicles. Therefore,MVCA can better improve the safety of intelligent vehicles. The simulation was conducted in MATLAB, including crossroads scene simulation and circular exchange position simulation. The results show that MVCA behaves safely and reliably. The effects of latency and packet loss on MVCA are also statistically investigated through theoretically formulating broadcasting process based on one-dimensional Markov chain. The results uncover that the tolerant delay should not exceed the half of deciding cycle of trajectory planning, and shortening the sending interval could alleviate the negative effects caused by the packet loss to an extent. The cases of short delay(< 100100 ms) and low packet loss(< 5%) can bring little influence to those trajectory planning algorithms that only depend on V2 V to sense the context, but the unpredictable collision may occur if the delay and packet loss are further worsened. The MVCA was also tested by a real intelligent vehicle, the test results prove the operability of MVCA.展开更多
Pedestrian's road-crossing model is the key part of micro-simulation for mixed traffic at signalized intersection.To reproduce the crossing behavior of pedestrians,the microscopic behaviors of the pedestrians pass...Pedestrian's road-crossing model is the key part of micro-simulation for mixed traffic at signalized intersection.To reproduce the crossing behavior of pedestrians,the microscopic behaviors of the pedestrians passing through the crosswalk at signalized intersection were analyzed.A pedestrian's decision making model based on gap acceptance theory was proposed.Based on the field data at three typical intersections in Beijing,China,the critical gaps and lags of pedestrians were calibrated.In addition,considering pedestrian's required space,a modification of the social force model that consists of a self-deceleration mechanism prevents a simulated pedestrian from continuously pushing over other pedestrians,making the simulation more realistic.After the simple change,the modified social force model is able to reproduce the fundamental diagram of pedestrian flows for densities less than 3.5 m-2 as reported in the literature.展开更多
This research analyzes and implements an innovative and tiny ultrawideband(UWB)antenna with band-notched features for body-centric communication.The shape of the designed antenna looks like a‘swan’with a slotted pat...This research analyzes and implements an innovative and tiny ultrawideband(UWB)antenna with band-notched features for body-centric communication.The shape of the designed antenna looks like a‘swan’with a slotted patch.Computer Simulation Technology(CST)is used to assess and investigate the performance of this antenna.With a band notch,this antenna can prevent interference from Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN)(5.15–5.825 GHz)and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access(WiMAX)(5.25–5.85 GHz)systems.At first,the performance parameters like return loss response,gain,radiation patterns,and radiation efficiency of this UWB antenna are evaluated.After that,the human body effects on the antenna performance of the antenna are also examined to place the antenna at various distances away from 3-layers of phantom body model at different frequencies.All the on-body performance parameter results are compared and analyzed with free space performance parameter results.Lastly,by changing patch slot length and ground plane length,parametric studies were done for performance comparison.According to this research,it is noticed that the antenna is tiny and new.It shows good performance in body case as well.Hence,the antenna is very suitable for healthcare applications.展开更多
The fracture-cavity carbonate reservoirs in the Tahe Oilfield in China are mainly exploited by fracturing.We need the hydraulic fractures to communicate with caves to create a flow channel.However,due to the existence...The fracture-cavity carbonate reservoirs in the Tahe Oilfield in China are mainly exploited by fracturing.We need the hydraulic fractures to communicate with caves to create a flow channel.However,due to the existence of the fracture-cavity systems,the hydraulic fracture propagation morphology is complicated,while the propagation characteristics are not clear.To analyze the hydraulic fracture propagation in fracture-cavity carbonate formations,based on the discontinuous discrete fracture model,we developed a solid-seepage-freeflow coupled fracturing model for fracture-cavity formations,which can simulate the complex interaction behavior of fractures and caves.Based on the simulation results,we found the interaction rule between hydraulic fractures and fracture-cavity systems:the stress concentration around caves is the main factor that determines the fracture propagation path.Deflection due to stress concentration is usually not conducive to communication,while natural fractures distributed around caves could break the rejection action.Increasing the hydraulic energy in the hydraulic fracture can make fracture propagate directly and reduce the influence of deflection.The steering fracture formed by temporary plugging is beneficial to the communication of fracture-cavity systems in the non-principal stress direction.According to the simulation results of different fracture-cavity characteristics,we raised four optimization communication modes for fracture-cavity carbonate formation to provide references for fracturing optimization design and parameter optimization.展开更多

Based on the actual condition of interchanges and the vehicle composition in our country, the traffic characteristics for high class roadways are analyzed and the system simulation model is developed. A simulation example is also given in the paper. Through the simulation, the optimal ramp control plan can be obtained.
文摘Intra-body communication (IBC) is a technology using the human body as a transmission medium for electrical signals. Compared with the short distance wireless communication technologies, it has several novel characteristics. The modeling, simulation and implement of intra-body communication are reviewed. Firstly, the transfer function of the galvanic coupling IBC is deduced, and the in vivo measurements results and the corresponding mathematical simulations results based on the proposed transfer function are discussed. Secondly, a finite-element method for modeling the whole human body is introduced, and the simulation results of the galvanic coupling IBC based on the whole human body and the corresponding in vivo measurement results are discussed. Finally, the implement methods of the intra-body communication as well as a novel IBC system based on Mach-Zehnder EO modulator are introduced and analyzed, while some conclusions are achieved.
文摘This paper focuses on the application of plasma as wireless antenna. In order to reveal the radiation characteristics of column plasma antenna, we chose the finite-difference time- domain (FDTD) numerical analysis method to simulate radiation impedance and efficiencies of each channel for a few sets of plasma densities and plasma collision frequencies. Simulation results demonstrate that a plasma antenna shares similar characteristics with a metallic antenna in radiation impedance and efficiency of each channel when an appropriate setting is adopted. Unlike a metallic antenna, a plasma antenna is capable of realizing such functions as dynamic reconfiguration, digital control and dual-channel communication. Thus it is possible to carry out dual-channel communication by plasma antenna, indicating a new path for modern intelligent communication.

文摘Objective:To evaluate nursing students’assessment and communication skills through an objective structured clinical examination(OSCE)within a high-fidelity simulation using a student-simulated patient(SSP)and analyze the validity,reliability,degree of difficulty,and discriminability of the OSCE.Methods:A descriptive study was conducted at one nursing school in Macao.All scenarios were designed using a high-fidelity simulator combined with SSPs.A convenience sample of 54 baccalaureate nursing students completed the OSCE.The nursing assessment OSCE checklist(NAOC)and the communication evaluation rubric(CER)were used as observational measurements with three-point Likert scales(2=Achieved,1=Partly achieved,0=Not completed/Incorrect).Results:Difficulty coefficients of the exam were 0.63 for nursing assessment skills and 0.56 for communication skills.The discrimination index of the majority items of the NAOC(86.4%)was>0.20,showing a better to good discriminability.The items of the CER had satisfactory indexes of item discrimination(from 0.38 to 0.84).Students received high scores in conducting blood oxygen saturation and cardiac and lung auscultation but low scores in vomiting and diarrhea assessment.Students presented good communication skills in eye contacting and listening,but culture assessment needs to be improved.The students with experiences in simulation or simulated patient(SP)interactions had better assessment and communication skills than students without those experiences.There was a positive relationship between nursing assessment and communication skills(r=0.67,P=0.000).Conclusions:SSPs were involved in enhancing the realism of interactions in simulated scenarios.Nursing students can conduct nursing assessments specific to patient conditions,explain the conditions to the patient,and ensure that the patient remains informed at all times of the precautions to be taken.However,students’cultural awareness and some communication skills need further training.With moderate difficulty and high discrimination index,OSCE showed satisfactory reliability and validity.
文摘A peculiarity of control network systems is the automatic implementation mode of monitoring and control, without outside intervention in a control process. This mode imposes rigid restrictions upon transmitted data. All circulating data should comply to the defined time interval in which their reliability is definite. In other word communication has to be predictable and time-constrained in order to produce control output in time. This characteristic corresponds to concept 《determinism》 that characterizes an ability of a protocol to guarantee equivalent and opportune network access with the delay not exceeding definite time interval. For development of a deterministic and noise-resistant protocol is necessary to carry out analysis of an error model obtained by the computer simulation of an electromagnetic process in conditions of variety and intensity of interference. The formalization of the error model gives computer simulation an ability to get the error sequence directly without simulation of the electromagnetic process. The results of the simulation of an error sequence can be used for the expediency analysis of a noise-resistant encoding and the analysis of an error-correcting ability.
文摘The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) technology based on the approved IEEE 802.11p standard and the appendant inter-vehicle communication (IVC) has the potential to dramatically change the way transportation systems work. The fundamental idea is to change the individual behavior of each vehicle by exchanging information among traffic participants to realize a cooperative and more efficient transportation system. Certainly, the evaluation of such systems is a comprehensive and challenging task in a real world test bed, therefore, simulation frameworks are a key tool to analyze IVC. Several models are needed to emulate the real behavior of a VANET in all aspects as much realistically as necessary. The intention of this survey is to provide a comprehensive overview of publications concerning IVC simulations of the year 2013 and to see how IVC simulation has changed since 2009. Based on this analysis, we will answer the following questions: What simulation techniques are applied to IVC? Which aspects of IVS have been evaluated? What has changed within five years of IVC simulations? We also take a closer look at commonly used software tools and discuss their functionality and drawbacks. Finally, we present open questions concerning IVC simulations.

文摘The simulation techniques of hardware-in-loop simulation(HLS) of homing antitank missile based on the personal computer (PC) are discussed. The PC and MCS-96 chip controller employ A/D and D/A boards (with photoelectricity isolation) to transfer measur ment and control information about homing head, gyro and rudder and utilize the digital hand shaking board to build correct communication communication protocol. In order to satisfy the real-time requirement of HLS, this paper first simplifies the aerodynamic data file reasonably, then builds a PC software with C language. The program of the controller part is made with PL/M language. The simulation of HLS based on PC is done with the same sampling period of 10ms as that of YH-F1 and the experiment results are identical to those of digital simulation of the homing anti-tank guided missile.

文摘A global planning algorithm for intelligent vehicles is designed based on the A* algorithm, which provides intelligent vehicles with a global path towards their destinations. A distributed real-time multiple vehicle collision avoidance(MVCA)algorithm is proposed by extending the reciprocal n-body collision avoidance method. MVCA enables the intelligent vehicles to choose their destinations and control inputs independently,without needing to negotiate with each other or with the coordinator. Compared to the centralized trajectory-planning algorithm, MVCA reduces computation costs and greatly improves the robustness of the system. Because the destination of each intelligent vehicle can be regarded as private, which can be protected by MVCA, at the same time MVCA can provide a real-time trajectory planning for intelligent vehicles. Therefore,MVCA can better improve the safety of intelligent vehicles. The simulation was conducted in MATLAB, including crossroads scene simulation and circular exchange position simulation. The results show that MVCA behaves safely and reliably. The effects of latency and packet loss on MVCA are also statistically investigated through theoretically formulating broadcasting process based on one-dimensional Markov chain. The results uncover that the tolerant delay should not exceed the half of deciding cycle of trajectory planning, and shortening the sending interval could alleviate the negative effects caused by the packet loss to an extent. The cases of short delay(< 100100 ms) and low packet loss(< 5%) can bring little influence to those trajectory planning algorithms that only depend on V2 V to sense the context, but the unpredictable collision may occur if the delay and packet loss are further worsened. The MVCA was also tested by a real intelligent vehicle, the test results prove the operability of MVCA.

文摘Pedestrian's road-crossing model is the key part of micro-simulation for mixed traffic at signalized intersection.To reproduce the crossing behavior of pedestrians,the microscopic behaviors of the pedestrians passing through the crosswalk at signalized intersection were analyzed.A pedestrian's decision making model based on gap acceptance theory was proposed.Based on the field data at three typical intersections in Beijing,China,the critical gaps and lags of pedestrians were calibrated.In addition,considering pedestrian's required space,a modification of the social force model that consists of a self-deceleration mechanism prevents a simulated pedestrian from continuously pushing over other pedestrians,making the simulation more realistic.After the simple change,the modified social force model is able to reproduce the fundamental diagram of pedestrian flows for densities less than 3.5 m-2 as reported in the literature.

文摘This research analyzes and implements an innovative and tiny ultrawideband(UWB)antenna with band-notched features for body-centric communication.The shape of the designed antenna looks like a‘swan’with a slotted patch.Computer Simulation Technology(CST)is used to assess and investigate the performance of this antenna.With a band notch,this antenna can prevent interference from Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN)(5.15–5.825 GHz)and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access(WiMAX)(5.25–5.85 GHz)systems.At first,the performance parameters like return loss response,gain,radiation patterns,and radiation efficiency of this UWB antenna are evaluated.After that,the human body effects on the antenna performance of the antenna are also examined to place the antenna at various distances away from 3-layers of phantom body model at different frequencies.All the on-body performance parameter results are compared and analyzed with free space performance parameter results.Lastly,by changing patch slot length and ground plane length,parametric studies were done for performance comparison.According to this research,it is noticed that the antenna is tiny and new.It shows good performance in body case as well.Hence,the antenna is very suitable for healthcare applications.

文摘The fracture-cavity carbonate reservoirs in the Tahe Oilfield in China are mainly exploited by fracturing.We need the hydraulic fractures to communicate with caves to create a flow channel.However,due to the existence of the fracture-cavity systems,the hydraulic fracture propagation morphology is complicated,while the propagation characteristics are not clear.To analyze the hydraulic fracture propagation in fracture-cavity carbonate formations,based on the discontinuous discrete fracture model,we developed a solid-seepage-freeflow coupled fracturing model for fracture-cavity formations,which can simulate the complex interaction behavior of fractures and caves.Based on the simulation results,we found the interaction rule between hydraulic fractures and fracture-cavity systems:the stress concentration around caves is the main factor that determines the fracture propagation path.Deflection due to stress concentration is usually not conducive to communication,while natural fractures distributed around caves could break the rejection action.Increasing the hydraulic energy in the hydraulic fracture can make fracture propagate directly and reduce the influence of deflection.The steering fracture formed by temporary plugging is beneficial to the communication of fracture-cavity systems in the non-principal stress direction.According to the simulation results of different fracture-cavity characteristics,we raised four optimization communication modes for fracture-cavity carbonate formation to provide references for fracturing optimization design and parameter optimization.

文摘A new lattice Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (LBGK) model for a class of the generalized Burgers equations is proposed. It is a general LBGK model for nonlinear Burgers equations with source term in arbitrary dimensional space. The linear stability of the model is also studied. The model is numerically tested for three problems in different dimensional space, and the numerical results are compared with either analytic solutions or numerical results obtained by other methods. Satisfactory results are obtained by the numerical simulations.
