ABAQUS is used to establish a detailed 3D finite element(FE) model and analyze the behavior of push-out specimens. The modeling results are in good agreement with the experimental results. Based on parametrical analysis using the validated FE approaches, the effects of important design parameters, such as the diameter, number, length to diameter ratio, and yield strength of studs, concrete strength and steel transverse reinforcement ratio, on the load-slip relationship at the interface of composite beams are discussed. In addition, a simplified approach to model studs is developed using virtual springs with an equivalent stiffness. This approach is demonstrated to be able to predict the load-displacement response and ultimate bearing capacity of steel-concrete composite beams. The predicted results show satisfactory agreement with experimental results from the literature.展开更多

A total of 12 reinforced concrete composite beams were tested: 10 of them were the RCCB subjected to two-phase uniformly distributed load, the other 2 were the comparative reinforced concrete beams cast at the same time as the RCCB subjected to one-phase uniformly distributed load. The interface of precast unit and recast concrete was natural and rough. The test range of the main composite factors: the ratio of precast section depth to composite section depth was from 0.35 to 0.65, the ratio of first-phase load moment to precast section ultimate bearing moment was from 0.25 to 0.65. The dy...Smart structure with active materials embedded in a rotating composite thin-walled beam is a class of typical structure which is using in study of vibration control of helicopter blades and wind turbine blades. The dynamic behavior investigation of these structures has significance in theory and practice. However, so far dynamic study on the above-mentioned structures is limited only the rotating composite beams with piezoelectric actuation. The free vibration of the rotating composite thin-walled beams with shape memory alloy(SMA) fiber actuation is studied. SMA fiber actuators are embedded into the walls of the composite beam. The equations of motion are derived based on Hamilton's principle and the asymptotically correct constitutive relation of single-cell cross-section accounting for SMA fiber actuation. The partial differential equations of motion are reduced to the ordinary differential equations of motion by using the Galerkin's method. The formulation for free vibration analysis includes anisotropy, pitch and precone angle, centrifugal force and SMA actuation effect. Numerical results of natural frequency are obtained for two configuration composite beams. It is shown that natural frequencies of the composite thin-walled beam decrease as SMA fiber volume and initial strain increase and the decrease in natural frequency becomes more significant as SMA fiber volume increases. The actuation performance of SMA fibers is found to be closely related to the rotational speeds and ply-angle. In addition, the effect of the pitch angle appears to be more significant for the lower-bending mode ones. Finally, in all cases, the precone angle appears to have marginal effect on free vibration frequencies. The developed model can be capable of describing natural vibration behaviors of rotating composite thin-walled beam with active SMA fiber actuation. The present work extends the previous analysis done for modeling passive rotating composite thin-walled beam.展开更多

A theoretical model applicable to the thin-walled laminated composite box beams is presented by taking into account all the structural couplings coming from the material anisotropy and the shear deformation effects. The current composite beam includes the transverse shear and the restrained warping induced shear deformation by using the first-order shear deformation beam theory. Seven governing equations are derived for the coupled axial-flexural-torsional-shearing buckling based on the principle of minimum total potential energy. Based on the present analytical model, three different types of finite composite beam elements, namely, linear, quadratic and cubic elements are developed to analyze the flexural, torsional, and buckling problems. In order to demonstrate the accuracy and superiority of the beam theory and the finite beam elements developed by this study, numerical solutions are presented and compared with the results obtained by other researchers and the detailed threedimensional analysis results using the shell elements of ABAQUS. Especially, the influences of the modulus ratio and the simplified assumptions in stress-strain relations on the deflection, twisting angle, and critical buckling loads of composite box beams are investigated.展开更多

文摘In order to investigate shear carrying capacity of H-steel concrete beam with small shear span ratio, shear test on 5 H-steel concrete composite beams with small span ratio (from 0.7 to 1.1) are reported, including test design, test scheme, test method, failure characteristics and test results. Influences of shear span ratio, web of H steel and concrete on shear carrying capacity of this kind of beam are investigated. The main components comprising shear bearing capacity are analyzed. The results show that with the shear span ratio increasing, the contribution of web of H steel and concrete on shear carrying capacity decrease. Based on test data, the calculation formula of shear carrying capacity for this beam is established by curve fitting.

文摘A large-span steel–concrete composite beam with precast hollow core slabs(CBHCSs)is a relatively new floor structure that can be applied to various long-span structures.However,human-induced vibrations may present serviceability issues in such structures. To alleviate vibrations, both the walking forces excited by humans and the associated floor responses must be elucidated. In this study,150 load–time histories of walking, excited by 25 test participants, are obtained using a force measuring plate. The dynamic loading factors and phase angles in the Fourier series functions for one-step walking are determined.Subsequently, walking tests are performed on seven CBHCS specimens to capture the essential dynamic properties of mode shapes, natural frequencies, damping ratios, and acceleration time histories. The CBHCS floor system generally exhibits a high frequency(>10 Hz)and low damping(damping ratio<2%).Sensitivity studies using the finite element method are conducted to investigate the vibration performance of the CBHCS floor system, where the floor thickness, steel beam type, contact time, and human weight are considered. Finally, analytical expressions derived for the fundamental frequency and peak acceleration agree well with the experimental results and are hence proposed for practical use.

文摘The strain difference of steel and concrete under vertical concentrated load was analyzed on the basis of elastic theory, and was compared with ideal solution of steel and concrete under vertical uniform load. The results indicate that the computing formula concluded from the paper is believable. The practical structure usually bears concentrated load, so it can be used in the practical engineering.
文摘The low velocity impact responses of shape memory alloy ( SMA ) reinforced composite beams were analyzed by employing the finite element method. The finite element dynamic equntion was solved by the Newmark direct integration method, the impact contact force was determined asing the Hertzian contact law, and the influence of SMA .fibers on stiffiwss matrix is studied. Numerical results show that the SMA fibers can effectively improve the low velocity impact response property of composite beam.
文摘The vibration suppression analysis of a simply-supported laminated composite beam with magnetostrictive layers resting on visco-Pasternak’s foundation is presented. The constant gain distributed controller of the velocity feedback is utilized for the purpose of vibration damping. The formulation of displacement field is proposed according to Euler-Bernoulli’s classical beam theory(ECBT),Timoshenko’s first-order beam theory(TFBT),Reddy’s third-order shear deformation beam theory, and the simple sinusoidal shear deformation beam theory.Hamilton’s principle is utilized to give the equations of motion and then to describe the vibration of the current beam.Based on Navier’s approach, the solution of the dynamic system is obtained. The effects of the material properties, the modes, the thickness ratios, the lamination schemes, the magnitudes of the feedback coefficient, the position of magnetostrictive layers at the structure, and the foundation modules are extensively studied and discussed.

文摘Through the experiments of 7 T-section composite beams, steel fiber reinforced self-stressing concrete (SFRSC) as the composite beam in the composite layer was studied under the hogging bending. The tests simulated composite layer tensile strain under the hogging bending of inverted loading composite beams, giving the relationship under the different fatigue stress ratios between fatigue cycles and steel bar’s stress range, crack width, stiffness loss and damage, etc., in composite layer. This article established fatigue life equation, and analyzed SFRSC reinforced mechanism to crack width and stiffness loss. The results show that SFRSC as the composite beam concrete has excellent properties of crack resistance and tensile, can reinforce the fatigue crack width and stiffness loss of composite beams, and improve the durability and in normal use of composite beams in the hogging bending zone.

文摘The hybrid structure consisting of castellated composite beam and compound spiral hoop reinforced concrete column take full advantages of steel and concrete material. To popularize the structural form in real conditions,a beam⁃through⁃type beam⁃column connection is proposed. Two 1/2⁃scaled connection specimens were tested and three⁃dimensional finite element models of the beam⁃column connection were set up.The longitudinal reinforcements, concrete beam, and column were simulated by link and solid elements, respectively. The influences of the parameters such as expansion ratio, location of web opening, and original height of steel beam were studied. The results show that connections possessed high initial rigidity. The expansion ratio of steel beam showed more important influence on the connection’s ultimate bearing capacity. For the connection models with steel beam expansion ratio of 1.4,the maximum increment of the ultimate bearing capacity of the connection could reach 28%.In order to prevent the local buckling failure of steel beam from occurring near web opening, the expansion ratio of steel beam should not be greater than 1.3.
