The ratio of Fe-Al compound at interace, which could determine the quarttity of Fe-Al compound at the interace of steel-mushy Al- 20 Sn bonding plate, was used to characterize the interfacial structure of steel-mushy Al-20 Sn bonding plate quantitatively. The effect of ratio of Fe-Al compound at interface on interacial shear strength was investigated perfectly. The results show that the relationship between ratio of Fe-Al compound at interace and interfacial shear strength is S = 3.3 + 1.91 t - 0.0135t^2 ( where t is ratio of Fe-Al compound at in- terface and S is interfacial shear strength ). When the ratio of Fe-Al compound at interface is 71%, the largest interfacial shear strength 70.9 MPa is got. This reasonable ratio of Fe-Al compound at interface is a quarttitative criterion of interfacial embrittlement. When the ratio of Fe-Al compound at interface is higher than 71% , interfacial embrittlement will occur. 展开更多

It was aim to investigate the interfacial microstructure and shear performance of Ti/Cu clad sheet produced by explosive welding and annealing. The experimental results demonstrate that the alternate distribution of interfacial collision and vortex of flyer layer forms in the interface a few of solidification structure. TEM confirms that the interfacial interlayer contains obvious lattice distortion structure and intermetallic compounds. It interprets the explosive welding as the interfacial deformation and thermal diffusion process between dissimilar metals. The interfacial shear strength is very close to the Cu matrix strength, which is determined by the mixture of the mechanical bonding and metallurgical bonding. Several cracks exist on the shear fracture owing to the intermetallic compound in the interfacial solidifi cation structure and also the probable welding inclusion. 展开更多

The diffusion behavior and reactions between AI and Ca in Mg alloys by diffusion couple method were investigated. Results demonstrate that Al2Ca is the only phase existing in the diffusion reaction layers. The volume fraction of Al2Ca in diffusion reaction layers increases linearly with temperature. The standard enthalpy of formation for intermetallic compounds was rationalized on the basis of the Miedema model. Al-Ca intermetallic compounds were preferable to form in the Mg-Al-Ca ternary system under the same conditions. Over the range of 350-400℃, the structure of Al2Ca is more stable than that of Al4Ca, Al14Ca13and Al3Ca8, The growth constants of the layer I, layer II and entire diffusion reaction layers were determined. The activation energies for the growth of the layer I, layer II and entire diffusion reaction layers were (80.74 ± 3.01 ) kJ/mol, (93.45 ±2.12) kJ/mol and (83.52 ±1.50) kJ/mot, respectively. In layer I and II, AI has higher integrated interdiffusion coefficients D^i^Int,layer layer than Ca. The average effective interdiffusion coefficients D^Al^eff values are higher than D^Ca^eff in the layer I and II. 展开更多
