The vibrational frequency of FeS(X5 △) (518±5 cm-1) agrees well with that reported in a recent PES measurement (520±30 cm-1) [J. Phys. Chem. A 107, 2821 (2003)] which is the only one prior experimental vibrational frequency value for the 5 △ state of FeS. Careful comparisons of our experimental results and those documented in the literature (mainly from theoretical predictions) suggest that the ground state of FeS is 5 △ state.展开更多

This property is employed to develop a new simple method to determine formation constants of Ce 3+ complex system. Fluorescence intensity is used to determine concentration of Ce 3+ (aq) in complex solution, as it is proportional to the concentration of Ce 3+ (aq). In this paper, two examples, Ce 3+ malonic acid and Ce 3+ AMP(adenosine 5′ monophosphate), of fluorescence titration were made and association constants and association numbers of the two systems were deduced for the titration with Scatchard plot. The results are similar to those obtained by others. It is suggested that this Ce 3+ method is a promising fluorescence probe, as it is not only simple but also superior to other lanthanide fluorescence probe in being able to study a large amount of organic ligands and biomolecules.展开更多

The thylakoid membrane preparations of P9 and SH 63 were excited by an Ar+ laser with a pulse width of 120 ps, repetition rate of 4 MHz and wavelength of 514 nm. The time constants of the excited energy transfer in these two varieties at flowering stage and grain filling stage were calculated from the experimental data. Based on the comparative studies of the time and spectral properties of the excited fluorescence in these ultrafast dynamic experiments the following was found: at both the flowering stage and grain filling stage, the speed of the excitation energy transfer, in photosystem was faster than that in photosystem II in P9 variety; and the speed of the excitation energy transfer at grain filling stage was faster than those at flowering stage for both rice varieties; the experiments also implied that the components and assembly of pigments in SH 63, but not in P9, changed during the process from flowering stage to grain filling stage for in these two rice varieties.展开更多

The conditional equilibrium constants for the complexation of Tb 3+ by chicken apoovotransferrin in 0 1 mol/L hepes, at pH 7 4 and room temperature were measured. The successive macroscopic binding constants are lg K 1=9 08±0 12 and lg K 2=7 36±0 22. The molar fluorescence enhancement of Tb 3+ apoovotransferrin complex is (2 06±0 14)×10 4 mol -1 ·L. The fluorescence quenching experiment and the titration of N terminal monoferric ovotransferrin showed that Tb 3+ has a preference for being bound to the N terminal binding site of apoovotransferrin.展开更多

In this paper ultraviolet (UV) absorbance titration was employed for the first time for the determination of the conditional stability constants of Hg(Ⅱ) and (DOM). With increasing Hg(Ⅱ) concentrations, the UV absorbance of fulvic acid, humic acid, and DOM in river increases progressively. By linear and non-linear model fitting, the conditional stability constants (lgK) of Hg(Ⅱ) and DOM were worked out to be 3.54?4.93 and 3.64?4.85, respectively. The results are consistent with those acquired by the typical fluorescence quenching titration method, with the maximum relative error of lgK being 2.6% and the average relative error being 0.2%. The UV absorbance titration method has the advantages of rapid determination, simple performance, and it will probably become a new approach to studying interactions between DOM and trace metallic ions.展开更多

In the model, statistical analysis of test data is achieved by applying lognormal function to describe the life distribution, and least square method (LSM) to calculate the mean value and the standard deviation of logarithm. As a result, the accelerated life equation was obtained, and then a self-developed software was developed to predict the VFD life. The data analysis results demonstrate that the VFD life submits to lognormal distribution, that the accelerated model meets the linear Arrhenius equation, and that the precise accelerated parameter makes it possible to acquire the life information of VFD within one month.展开更多

METHODS The affection of drug to the protein conformation was investigated. The binding constant between drug and BSA from a double reciprocal Lineweaver Burk plot was determined and the main sort of binding force was found according to the thermodynamic parameters. RESULTS The binding constants between BSA and ciprofloxacin at 26℃and 45℃ are about 10 4. At 26℃, the thermodynamic parameters of reaction between BSA and ciprofloxacin are Δ H = -49 13 kJ·mol -1 , Δ G = -26 45 kJ·mol -1 , Δ S = -75 kJ·mol -1 . The maximum wavelength of the synchronous fluorescence spectra of BSA moved from 279 nm to 289nm with the incresing of the amount of ciprofloxacin. CONCLUSION There exists fluorescence energy transfer between BSA and ciprofloxacin. The main sort of binding force between BSA and ciprofloxacin is Van der Waals′ interaction. Ciprofloxacin can be deposited and be transported by serum protein in vivo . Ciprofloxacin affects the protein conformation.展开更多
