As a cultural concept refl ecting the relationship between humans and forests,forest culture plays an active role in sustainable forest management.Forest parks provide a wide range of ecosystem services essential for ...As a cultural concept refl ecting the relationship between humans and forests,forest culture plays an active role in sustainable forest management.Forest parks provide a wide range of ecosystem services essential for the sustainable development of society,and the relationships between forest culture,green construction and management of forest parks have practical signifi cance.This study aimed to understand the interaction and process of forest culture infl uencing green construction and management in forest parks with the models Knowledge-Attitude-Practice(KAP)and Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)by proposing a theoretical model.Four hypotheses were tested using data collected from 193 forest park employees in Heilongjiang Province,China.Our results show that forest culture had a signifi cant infl uence on green construction and forest management.In addition,subjective norm and perceived behavioral control directly impacted behavior in green construction and management of the forest park,whereas attitude did not have an impact.Subjective norm had a direct eff ect on attitude.Results between constructs show that forest culture had an indirect eff ect on planning and construction,and on ecological and economic management.Consequently,it supported three of four hypotheses within the proposed model in determining the infl uence of forest culture on green construction and management.展开更多

Taking into account influential factors, e.g., resource, spatial con...The paper presents applications of simplified discrete-event simulation (SDESA), and 4D-GCPSU, to the National Stadium of the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Taking into account influential factors, e.g., resource, spatial condition, and the randomness of the construction process, the installation process of the steel-structure was simulated and optimized by using genetic algorithm (GA) optimization methodology. The operations simulation shortened the installation duration by 39 days (about 16% of the original total duration), guided the manufacturers to plan the construction processes, and provided specific suggestions on the entry time of the installation components, resulting in resource allocation optimization, resource saving, and construction efficiency improvement. Combining with the optimized schedule, the 4D visualization environment can discover time-space conflicts timely, and may assist project managers to reschedule the construction activities in tune with the site layout and resource allocation.展开更多

The new mode for managing construction projects with information technology(IT)has attracted worldwide attention because it can help managers and workers perform tasks and bring potential benefits,such as high-quality...The new mode for managing construction projects with information technology(IT)has attracted worldwide attention because it can help managers and workers perform tasks and bring potential benefits,such as high-quality products and accident-free production,effectively.However,the application of IT in site have not achieved expected results because it is faced with many constraints caused by internal factors from enterprises and projects and external factors from the government and environment.Although many relevant studies have discussed the constraints of implementing different IT and devices in the construction industry or site,few articles have specifically focused on identifying and analyzing the indicator system.In this work,we took China as the background,scientifically identified 23 influential factors that affect the implementation of IT in construction management through literature review and expert interviews.Subsequently,questionnaires were issued,and Delphi method was used to obtain empirical data that aimed at four different management fields.Then,an efficient and convenient method called DEMATEL was used to deal with these data.Afterward,the factors were divided into four categories,namely,core,diving,independent,and impact factors.Finally,the similarities and differences of the analysis results from the four fields were compared,and the key factors were identified.Results show that the cross-domain talent ability,concept and value cognition,and organization structure are core factors in all management fields that should be managed first along with the IT innovation ability in the enterprise.The formulation of technical standards and related device and training input are also critical in specific fields.Strategic planning plays a role in macro control and promotion.Data management and application,platform construction,solution,and collaboration have direct impacts on information management.The research results provide suggestions not only for the government to formulate effective policies for IT application and promotion in construction industry,but also for enterprises to take measures in improving management efficiency in the construction site and realizing its substantial benefits.展开更多

This paper provides an integrated model of radio-frequency identification (RFID) and four-dimensional Computer-Aided Design (4D CAD) in construction management. RFID involves the use of tags that collect data and transmit data. RFID can collect data by radio waves instead of light waves. RFID technology is surpassing barcode technology where light waves are easily blocked and barcode labels are easy to fall off or become unreadable due to dust, dirt, or other contaminants. 4D CAD which involves 3D construction models and construction schedules presents visualized construction process. Integration of RFID and 4D CAD in this paper built a dynamic construction management and control system which would reduce the time of capturing data on site and control quality of construction materials efficiently. Pilot test result shows that a construction manager can easily understand how and what a complicated construction project will be accomplished. Although further analysis is necessary, RFID and 4D CAD show promises of being a beneficial technology in construction management.展开更多

The research was developed based on local inspections in the context of environmental laws, in semi-structured interviews with people who deal with this activity and bibliographic references. The main conclusion is that the city does not have a CDW management plan consequently leading to environmental problems. On the other hand, waste of recycled construction can be used as inert reducing the consumption of raw materials that can be used as base and sub-base for paving, landfills, aggregate in mortars and raw materials to be manufactured blocks, bricks concrete tiles, etc.展开更多

文摘Globally, the construction industry is one of the leading producers of solid waste. The city of Praia, the capital of the Republic of Cape Verde has been suffering from environmental degradation with the irregular disposal of waste caused by inadequate management of waste from construction and also the demolition. The research was developed based on local inspections in the context of environmental laws, in semi-structured interviews with people who deal with this activity and bibliographic references. The main conclusion is that the city does not have a CDW management plan consequently leading to environmental problems. On the other hand, waste of recycled construction can be used as inert reducing the consumption of raw materials that can be used as base and sub-base for paving, landfills, aggregate in mortars and raw materials to be manufactured blocks, bricks concrete tiles, etc.
文摘This paper illustrates that the CBD has brought the huge economic efficiency to some cities with social development and science and technology advancement as a production of the market economy, which based on the outcome of CBD and the difference between traditional CBD and contemporary CBD. Meanwhile, by studying the construction and management of CBD, the paper also analyses CBD construction and management mode based on Chinese case study.

With the rapid development of information technology at home and abroad, the developed countries or parts of the developing countries are strengthening their national information infrastructure. Several of gold projects in information technology as the representative is gradually go deeper, forming an unprecedented development in the entire information network technology. With the globalization of the construction market and intensifying of the competition, construction management requires the higher information technology, which is relatively backward in China' s construction industry. So it has important practical significance to clearly recognize the entire network computing model and technology developments, and properly apply to the construction project management.
文摘Change orders have a significant impact on many aspects of construction projects.They are known to be the primary cause of litigation in the construction industry.Change orders are almost inevitable due to the uniqueness of each project from many perspectives,such as the type of building,complexity of the design,human factors,and the available resources.Change orders are the formal mechanism to implement design changes during the execution phase.These changes are usually the outcome of lack of visualization by the owner,misunderstanding,miscommunication between different parties involved in the project,shortage in resources,and other factors.This research aims to investigate and rank causes,effects,and control measures of change orders in the construction industry in the U.S.This research presents the results of a questionnaire surveying owners,contractors,and consultants.A total of 123 industry professionals in the Architecture,Engineering,and Construction(AEC)field,with either significant or final decision-making authority on reviewing,issuing,and approving change orders responded to the survey.Results indicated that owners are the primary source followed by consultants and contractors,respectively.Some of the more important control measures identified in this research are collaboration and visualization technologies.
