The optimal decision results and optimal p...To investigate the optimal retail price and service level in a supply chain under consumer returns, a consumer returns model under the retailer's service provision is built. The optimal decision results and optimal profits are obtained in the vertical integration game and the manufacturer Stackelberg game, respectively. Through comparing the optimal profits with service provision with those of no service provision, the boundary conditions that the retailer's service should be provided are derived. The results show that in the manufacturer Stackelberg game, the optimal profit of the retailer and the manufacturer with service is always superior to that of a no service provision. However, in the vertical integration game, the supply chain can only benefit from the service under certain conditions. Finally, through numerical examples, the impacts of the cost for providing services and the consumer return rate on the optimal decisions are analyzed.展开更多
It is important to study the relationship between marketing factors and purchase decisions of middle-class consumers in Nanning housing market.This study will investigate the factors influencing people decision to pur...It is important to study the relationship between marketing factors and purchase decisions of middle-class consumers in Nanning housing market.This study will investigate the factors influencing people decision to purchase houses in Nanning City.The extrinsic housing attributes at this study consist of environmental attributes and location attributes.I have a limited understanding of the purchase behavior of Nanning home buyers in Nanning City.This study adopts the data collection methods of e-mail and field survey.Based on 509 questionnaires,the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis and logistic regression.The results show that location attributes,such as school districts,positively influence housing purchase decisions in Nanning City.This study contributes to an improved understanding of home buyers’decision making in Nanning City.The beneficiaries of this study include home buyers and marketers and academic institutions.To better meet home buyers’needs and achieve a competitive advantage,marketers can use the research outcomes to focus more on those housing purchase factors that significantly influence house buyers’purchase decision making.展开更多
According to normative-resource theory,the balance of marital power is influenced by the effect of socioeconomic resources and subcultural expectations.The purpose of our study is to empirically test the effects of Ja...According to normative-resource theory,the balance of marital power is influenced by the effect of socioeconomic resources and subcultural expectations.The purpose of our study is to empirically test the effects of Japanese married individuals’comparative socioeconomic variables—education,age,occupation status,personal income,family income,urban/rural living area,years married,and the presence/number of children;and normative resources—the four dimensions of sex role orientation—on decision-making authority across the stages of automobile purchasing.The data of 500 demographically heterogeneous married individuals are analyzed by using a Lasso(least absolute shrinkage and selection operator)regression to select variables and to improve the accuracy of prediction and interpretation.The findings reveal that wives’authority is significantly influenced across all stages by their personal income and specific dimensions of their sex role orientation.On the other hand,husbands’authority is not affected by their perception of role norms,but only by their age.Contrary to expectations,the effects of education,occupation,and employment status are not significant in any of the cases,opening a discussion for cross-cultural comparison.The findings are interpreted and transformed into actionable items for managerial implications.展开更多

This question is heavily disputed between natural scientists and especially neuroscientists, who deny free will, and philosophers and other groups, who insist on free will. It is perplexing that both sides base their premise on the same precondition, namely naturalism. We will prove that naturalism automatically leads to physicalism, to materialism, and to reductionism. We will also prove here that it is logically not possible to have a free will if naturalism is true. Free will definitely requires an additional substance, a non-material soul, which cannot be part of our universe. This must not be in contradiction to our current knowledge of natural sciences.展开更多

This protein damages the small intestine and causes stomach pain, bloating, weakness etc. Celiac disease, gluten-allergy or gluten-sensitivity has never really been taken seriously in developing countries like India. However, in developed nations like UK, USA, Canada and other parts of Europe, gluten-free foods have become quite popular. With a prevalence rate of about one in 100 - 133 people worldwide, celiac disease is widespread across the globe and life-long consumption of gluten-free food is recommended treatment for this allergy. Apart from celiac-disease patients, gluten-free foods are also consumed by health conscious people for weight management and high protein diet and by the patients for diabetes, autism and food allergies. Apart from gluten-free flour, biscuits, cookies and snacks, product innovations like gluten-free beers are becoming very popular. Big data including online blogs, articles, and reviews have played a major role in increased sales of gluten-free foods. Thus, analysis of editorial and social media content becomes essential to understand the leading trends in gluten-free foods.
