Detection of personality using emotions is a research domain in artificial intelligence.At present,some agents can keep the human’s profile for interaction and adapts themselves according to their preferences.However...Detection of personality using emotions is a research domain in artificial intelligence.At present,some agents can keep the human’s profile for interaction and adapts themselves according to their preferences.However,the effective method for interaction is to detect the person’s personality by understanding the emotions and context of the subject.The idea behind adding personality in cognitive agents begins an attempt to maximize adaptability on the basis of behavior.In our daily life,humans socially interact with each other by analyzing the emotions and context of interaction from audio or visual input.This paper presents a conceptual personality model in cognitive agents that can determine personality and behavior based on some text input,using the context subjectivity of the given data and emotions obtained from a particular situation/context.The proposed work consists of Jumbo Chatbot,which can chat with humans.In this social interaction,the chatbot predicts human personality by understanding the emotions and context of interactive humans.Currently,the Jumbo chatbot is using the BFI technique to interact with a human.The accuracy of proposed work varies and improve through getting more experiences of interaction.展开更多

Currently,a growing number of educators are aware of the need to look for new approaches to replace the"spoon-feeding"method.Therefore,the context-based strategy began to emerge.This study aims to investigat...Currently,a growing number of educators are aware of the need to look for new approaches to replace the"spoon-feeding"method.Therefore,the context-based strategy began to emerge.This study aims to investigate how students derive information through contextual clues by examining the progress of Chinese middle school EFL students in terms of word recognition.The participants of this study included 20 eighth grade students from the same middle school.The participants sat for two different quizzes:a contextual vocabulary quiz(quiz A)and a direct instruction quiz(quiz B).In quiz A,the participants inferred the meaning of the target words from the example sentences,whereas in quiz B,the students utilized the accompanying English explanation to guess other new words.These students were in the experimental and control conditions,respectively.The two quizzes comprised of 15 multiple choice questions(MCQ)which differentiated the participants?word recognition response to two different learning methods.There were two significant findings from this study.First,the results showed that the context-based strategy leads to a better vocabulary learning performance compared to the direct instruction strategy.Second,although it is not as effective as the context-based strategy,the direct instruction strategy may assist EFL learners in remembering words in short term.展开更多
The urban evolution of Gulangyu,a historic international settlement in the city of Xiamen on China’s southeast coast,has long attracted the attention of scholars working in the field of Chinese urban history.Until re...The urban evolution of Gulangyu,a historic international settlement in the city of Xiamen on China’s southeast coast,has long attracted the attention of scholars working in the field of Chinese urban history.Until recently,however,few efforts have been made to theorize the spatial formation of Gulangyu.Drawing upon existing research on the island’s development,particularly since the early 1840s,this study aims to offer a critical reading of the modern transformation of Gulangyu.By retracing the urban evolution of Gulangyu on the basis of historical maps and fieldtrip data,its spatial restructuring up to the early 1940s has been reviewed and analyzed.With GIS and CAD-based tools,conflated results are presented to explain the island’s spatial mixity.The results show that from military fortification to village settlements,through the competition between local inhabitants and earlier imperialists,and then the coopetition of foreign residents and returned overseas Chinese,the making of Gulangyu as a historic international settlement was hardly a Western-dominant process.Instead,it should provide an entry point for a contextualized critique of current research on similar urban space in China’s modern history.展开更多
