This paper investigates the prescribed-time control(PTC) problem for a class of strict-feedback systems subject to non-vanishing uncertainties. The coexistence of mismatched uncertainties and non-vanishing disturbances makes PTC synthesis nontrivial. In this work, a control method that does not involve infinite time-varying gain is proposed, leading to a practical and global prescribed time tracking control solution for the strict-feedback systems, in spite of both the mismatched and nonvanishing uncertainties. Different from methods based on control switching to avoid the issue of infinite control gain that involves control discontinuity at the switching point, in our method a softening unit is exclusively included to ensure the continuity of the control action. Furthermore, in contrast to most existing prescribed-time control works where the control scheme is only valid on a finite time interval, in this work, the proposed control scheme is valid on the entire time interval. In addition, the prior information on the upper or lower bound of gi is not in need,enlarging the applicability of the proposed method. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm. 展开更多

This paper addresses a geometric control algorithm for the attitude tracking problem of the rigid spacecraft modeled on SO(3).Considering the topological and geometric properties of SO(3),we introduced a smooth positive attitude error function to convert the attitude tracking issue on SO(3)into the stabilization counterpart on its Lie algebra.The error transformation technique was further utilized to ensure the assigned transient and steady state performance of the attitude tracking error with the aid of a well⁃designed assigned⁃time performance function.Then,using the actor⁃critic(AC)neural architecture,an adaptive reinforcement learning approximator was constructed,in which the actor neural network(NN)was utilized to approximate the unknown nonlinearity online.A critic function was introduced to tune the next phase of the actor neural network operation for performance improvement via supervising the system performance.A rigorous stability analysis was presented to show that the assigned system performance can be achieved.Finally,the effectiveness and feasibility of the constructed control strategy was verified by the numerical simulation. 展开更多

In this paper, the influence of physical parameters on the width of saturated control frequency band and the influence of time delay parameters on the stability of saturated control system are studied. The analytical solution of the motion equation of the system when the main resonance and the 1:2 internal resonance occur simultaneously is obtained by multiple scale method, experimentally measured natural frequencies of nonlinear beams. The effects of excitation amplitude, delay feedback coefficients and nonlinear coefficients on saturation control are investigated. The results of the study show that the bandwidth of the saturation control can be increased by increasing the value of the external excitation, the nonlinear coefficients enhance the nonlinear phenomena of the system. 展开更多

Unlike the existing approach based on time-dependent switching strategy, in which the switching instants must be given in advance, the state-dependent switching strategy is used to design switching signals. Based on multiple Lyapunov-like functions method, several criteria for switched nonlinear systems to be finite-time H<sub>∞</sub> control are derived. The impact angle control over guidance(IACG) law against stationary targets is proposed by using feedback linearization control(FLC) and finite time control(FTC). First, this paper transforms the kinematics equation of guidance systems into the feedbackable linearization model, in which the guidance law is obtained without considering the impact angle via FLC. For the purpose of the line of sight(LOS) angle and its rate converging to the desired values, the second-order LOS angle is considered as a double-integral system. Then, this paper utilizes FTC to design a controller which can guarantee the states of the double-integral system converging to the desired values. Based on a nonlinear state predictor (NSP) and a strong tracking filter (STF), a sensor fault tolerant generic model control (FTGMC) approach for a class of nonlinear time-delay processes is proposed. First, the NSP is introduced, and it is used to extend the conventional generic model control (GMC) to nonlinear processes with large input time-delay. Then the STF is adopted to estimate process states and sensor biaz, the estimated sensor bias is used to drive a fault detection logic. When a sensor fault is detected, the estimated process states by the STF will be used to construct the process output to form a 'soft sensor', which is then used by the NSP (instead of the real outputs) to provide state predictors. These procedures constitute an active fault tolerant control scheme. Finally, simulation results of a three-tank-system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

A new cascade control program was proposed based on modified internal model control to handle stable,unstable and integrating processes with time delay.The program had totally four controllers of which the secondary loop had two controllers and the primary loop had two controllers.The two secondary loop controllers were designed using IMC technique.They were decoupled completely and could be adjusted independently,which avoided the undesirable influence on performance of the primary controllers.The main controller in the primary loop was devised as a PID using the method of minimum sensitivity,which could guarantee not only the nominal performance but also the robust stability of the system.A setpoint filter was added in the primary loop to improve the tracking performance.All the controllers of the two closed-loops were designed analytically,and could be adjusted and optimized by single parameter respectively.Simulations were carried out on three various processes with time delay,and the results show that the proposed method can provide a better performance of both set-point tracking and disturbance rejection and robustness against parameters perturbation. 展开更多

For the position tracking control of hydraulic manipulators,a novel method of time delay control(TDC) with continuous nonsingular terminal sliding mode(CNTSM) was proposed in this work.Complex dynamics of the hydraulic manipulator is approximately canceled by time delay estimation(TDE),which means the proposed method is model-free and no prior knowledge of the dynamics is required.Moreover,the CNTSM term with a fast-TSM-type reaching law ensures fast convergence and high-precision tracking control performance under heavy lumped uncertainties.Despite its considerable robustness against lumped uncertainties,the proposed control scheme is continuous and chattering-free and no pressure sensors are required in practical applications.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that faster and higher-precision position tracking performance is achieved compared with the traditional CNTSM-based TDC method using boundary layers. 展开更多

The nonlinear uncertainties of the systems under study are bounded by high- order polynomial functions with unknown gains. Firstly, the adaptive feedback controller which can guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system in the sense of uniform ultimate boundedness is proposed. Then the proposed adaptive idea is extended to robust stabilizing designing method for a class of large-scale interconnected systems. Here, another problem we address is to design a decentralized feedback adaptive controller such that the closed-loop system is stable in the sense of uniform ultimate boundedness for all admissible uncertainties and time-delay. According to some researches, time delay is not always constant and can be viewed as a periodic function of time for some cases. In this work, an internet congestion control model is consid- ered to study the time-varying delay induced bursting-like motion, which consists of a rapid oscillation burst and quies- cent steady state. Then, for the system with periodic delay of small amplitude and low frequency, the method of multiple scales is employed to obtain the amplitude of the oscillation. Based on the expression of the asymptotic solution, it can be found that the relative length of the steady state increases with amplitude of the variation of time delay and decreases with frequency of the variation of time delay. Finally, an effective method to control the bursting-like motion is pro- posed by introducing a periodic gain parameter with appropriate amplitude. Theoretical results are in agreement with that from numerical method. 展开更多

Utilizing the Lyapunov functions and the impulsive-type comparison principles, we establish a series of different conditions under which impulsively controlled nonlinear systems with time-varying delays are asymptotically stable. Then we estimate upper bounds of impulse interval and time-varying delays for asymptotically stable control. Finally a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

Based on the state feedback method, the resulting closed-loop systems are reliable in that they remain robust stochastically stable and satisfy a certain level of H∞ disturbance attenuation not only when all actuators are operational, but also in case of some actuator failures, The solvability condition of controllers can be equivalent to a feasibility problem of coupled linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).
