The two apparent issues,Corona effect and 4th industrial revolution, are seemed to be totally irrelevant but can point out numerous similarities. Why and how?We may be able to point out how without any difficulty, but no one can identify why. This article starts with how first then mumble around why with no confirmed conclusion. The only concluding remark may be“It is a Historian’s duty, not the engineers nor scientists”.For Corona virus, the major catch phrase is“Separation”,physically and mentally, which can be related to the 4th industrial revolution, which this article foresees and no confirmation on“what will happen next”. 展开更多

It is expressed by the mathematic differential equation based on the physical model. According to the parameters of the dipole moment of virus, the electric field force exerted by the external electric field can be calculated. According to the parameters of size, mass and elastic modular, etc., the moment of inertia of virus can be calculated. According to the viscosity of tissues, the resistant force when virus rotates can be calculated. According to the balance condition of relaxation polarization, when the drive force equals to the resistant force, the rotating or swaying frequency of virus can be calculated. According to the heat producing condition such as friction, the temperature rising of virus can be calculated. When the temperature exceeds a certain threshold, virus would be inactivated. Through the calculation, it is found that the movement type of the virus depends on the intensity and frequency of the external electric field, which are the effects of "intensity widows" and "frequency windows". It also gives approximate calculation of the temperature rising of the virus according to this model. The vitro experiment confirms the reasonability of this model. The electric fields of different densities of a certain frequency are applied to the solution of avian infectious bronchitis virus. Through the toxicity experiment of the SPF chicken embryo, it is found that the toxicity is decreased exceedingly with a certain intensity of the applied voltage. EID50 decreases from 6.70/0.2 mL to 2.66/0.2 mL. It is proved that the avian infectious bronchitis virus can be inactivated with a certain low frequency and low-density electric field. 展开更多

A new method of image processing of corona virus based on two and multiple beam interference is suggested. The method is based on measuring the fringe shift with respect to the background interference pattern. The interested application of the corona virus image in confocal microscopy is getting depth information since it has the property of optical sectioning. An accurate measurement of the fringe shift is obtained using multiple beam interference since contrast is higher than that for two beam interference. The refractive index of the corona virus image is deduced from the fringe shift. A MATLAB code is used for the processing of all images. 展开更多

Five major porcine coronaviruses (COVs) have been identifed which cause severe gastrointestinal (GI) and respiratory disease in pigs. They include transmissiblegastroenteritis (TGEV), porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine deltacoronavirus, porcine respiratory coronavirus, and porcine hemagglutinating encephalo-myelitis. These diseases, especially TGEV and PEDV, have caused epidemics in Europe, Asia, and the Ameri-cas over the past 50 years, causing signifcant economic losses to swine producers. As pigs are a major protein source worldwide there is great interest in understanding, controlling, and preventing these diseases. These disea-ses have no cure, and current vaccines are not fully protective. On-farm prevention and biosecurity are difficult to enforce and have not stopped the spread of these diseases between herds. Recent advances in the immunology of porcine COVs has revealed that the immune response to porcine COVs shares many similarities with the response to human COVs, leading to increased interest in pigs as models for human disease. Highlights of these advances include the key role of local antigen presenting cells in the gastrointestinal tract in stimulating a protective immune response. This understanding has lead to new proposed vaccines. Advances in the understanding of the ways the viruses evade and degrade the host immune system have also lead to novel proposed therapies. Many of these therapies are in the early development stages, as resear-chers attempt to create effcacious, cost-effective, and practical therapies for these diseases. 展开更多

Objective: To evaluate the role of prevention and control strategies for nosocomial infection in a tertiary teaching hospital during the sudden outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: The hospital initiated an emergency plan involving multi-departmental defense and control. It adopted a series of nosocomial infection prevention and control measures, including strengthening pre-examination and triage, optimizing the consultation process, improving the hospital’s architectural composition, implementing graded risk management, enhancing personal protection, and implementing staff training and supervision. Descriptive research was used to evaluate the short-term effects of these in-hospital prevention and control strategies. The analysis compared changes in related evaluation indicators between January 24, 2020 and February 12, 2020 (Chinese Lunar New Year’s Eve 2020 to lunar January 19) and the corresponding lunar period of the previous year. Results: Compared to the same period last year, the outpatient fever rate increased by 1.85-fold (P P Conclusion: The nosocomial infection prevention and control strategies implemented during this specific period improved the detection and control abilities for the COVID-19 source of infection and enhanced the compliance with measures. This likely contributed significantly to avoiding the occurrence of nosocomial infection. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The severe respiratory manifestations observed in severe coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)cases are often associated with an excessive inflammatory response.Dexamethasone,a synthetic glucocorticoid, exerts its anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the transcription of pro-inflammatory genes and suppressing the activity of various immune cells. This mechanism has implications for mitigating the cytokine storm observed in severe COVID-19 cases.Early on in the pandemic, the Recovery Collaborative working group showed a mortality benefit of using dexamethasone in decreasing mortality in patients with COVID-19 requiring respiratory support. However, the optimal dosage of corticosteroids remains debatable.Several studies that compare different doses of dexamethasone in COVID-19 exist, but the results are conflicting.AIM To review the latest evidence regarding dosage, safety, and efficacy of dexamethasone in severe COVID-19.METHODS We followed preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis guidelines.A detailed literature search was conducted across PubMed,Google Scholar, and Medline to include publications up to March 2024.Our keywords included“COVID-19”“SARS-CoV-2”“dexamethasone”“corticosteroid”“steroid”and“glucocorticoid”-along with their combinations. We employed the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale to evaluate the integrity and potential of bias in the included studies.A meta-analysis was conducted using a random-effects model, assessing pooled odds ratios and mean differences, with heterogeneity gauged by the I2 statistic and theχ^(2) tests.RESULTS No statistical differences were found in 28-day all-cause mortality[pooled odds ratio(OR)=1.109,95%CI:0.918-1.340],60-day all-cause mortality(OR=0.873,95%CI:0.744-1.024;I2=47.29%),mean length of hospital stay(mean difference=-0.08 days,95%CI:-0.001 to 0.161)and adverse events(OR=0.877,95%CI:0.707-1.087).CONCLUSION Differing doses of corticosteroids have no clinical implications on mortality, mean length of hospital stay, and adverse events in COVID-19 patients.Additional research is required in patients requiring invasive or noninvasive ventilation. 展开更多

We propose a theoretical study investigating the spread of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19)reported inWuhan City of China in 2019.We develop a mathematical model based on the novel corona virus’s characteristics and then use fractional calculus to fractionalize it.Various fractional order epidemicmodels have been formulated and analyzed using a number of iterative and numerical approacheswhile the complications arise due to singular kernel. We use the well-known Caputo-Fabrizio operator for the purposes of fictionalization because this operator is based on the non-singular kernel. Moreover,to analyze the existence and uniqueness,we will use the well-known fixed point theory. We also prove that the considered model has positive and bounded solutions. We also draw some numerical simulations to verify the theoretical work via graphical representations. We believe that the proposed epidemic model will be helpful for health officials to take some positive steps to control contagious diseases. 展开更多

This security refers to the ability to adapt, approach, anticipate or change after a shock. These shocks generally concern large-scale situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. To cope with these shocks, certain risk management tools have appeared in healthcare centres. Among these new tools are those called “resilience engineering”. However, failure to master some of them sometimes generates erroneous results that lead to even more serious consequences in decision-making. This article proposes an Ivorian resilience model for managing the coronavirus pandemic. The model is the combination of Bayesian and neural techniques with multilayer perceptron in order to best assist Ivorian specialists in their decision-making. 展开更多
