The applicability of the correlations to pipeline-riser flow needs evaluation since the flow condition in pipeline-riser is quite different from the original data where they were derived from. In the present study, a comprehensive evaluation of 24prevailing correlation in predicting frictional pressure drop is carried out based on experimentally measured data of air-water and air-oil two-phase flows in pipeline-riser. Experiments are performed in a system having different configuration of pipeline-riser with the inclination of the downcomer varied from-2°to-5°to investigated the effect of the elbow on the frictional pressure drop in the riser. The inlet gas velocity ranges from 0.03 to 6.2 m/s, and liquid velocity varies from 0.02 to 1.3 m/s. In this paper, we investigate the intensity correlation between the split x-ray beams by Laue diffraction of stress-free crystal. The analysis based on the dynamical theory of x-ray diffraction indicates that the spatial resolution of diffraction image and transmission image are reduced due to the position shift of the exit beam. In the experimental setup, a stress-free crystal with a thickness of hundredmicrometers-level is used for beam splitting. The crystal is in a non-dispersive configuration equipped with a double-crystal monochromator to ensure that the dimension of the diffraction beam and transmission beam are consistent. A correlation coefficient of 0.92 is achieved experimentally and the high signal-to-noise ratio of the x-ray ghost imaging is anticipated. Results of this paper demonstrate that the developed beam splitter of Laue crystal has the potential in the efficient data acquisition of x-ray ghost imaging.展开更多

This study utilizes a monitoring and control platform for DCS with ice storage to analyze historical parameter values related to system operation and executed operations. We assess the distribution of cooling loads among various devices within the DCS, identify operational characteristics of the system through correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), and subsequently determine key parameters affecting changes in cooling loads. Accurate forecasting of cooling loads is crucial for determining optimal control strategies. The research process can be summarized briefly as follows: data preprocessing, parameter analysis, parameter selection, and validation of load forecasting performance. The study reveals that while individual devices in the system perform well, there is considerable room for improving overall system efficiency. Six principal components have been identified as input parameters for the cold load forecasting model, with each of these components having eigenvalues greater than 1 and contributing to an accumulated variance of 87.26%, and during the dimensionality reduction process, we obtained a confidence ellipse with a 95% confidence interval. Regarding cooling load forecasting, the Relative Absolute Error (RAE) value of the light gradient boosting machine (lightGBM) algorithm is 3.62%, Relative Root Mean Square Error (RRMSE) is 42.75%, and R-squared value (R2) is 92.96%, indicating superior forecasting performance compared to other commonly used cooling load forecasting algorithms. This research provides valuable insights and auxiliary guidance for data analysis and optimizing operations in practical engineering applications. .展开更多

This study therefore aims primarily to investigate the correlation between rainfall anomalies in Rwanda during the months of September to December (SOND) with the occurrences of Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events. The study is useful for early warning and forecasting of negative effects associated with extreme rainfall anomalies across the country, using Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station (CHIRPS), the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) reanalysis sea surface temperature and ERA5 reanalysis datasets, during the period of 1983-2021. Both empirical orthogonal function (EOF), correlation analysis and composite analysis were used to delineate variability, relationship and the related atmospheric circulation between Rwanda seasonal rainfall September to December (SOND) with Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO). The results for Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) for the reconstructed rainfall data set showed three modes. EOF-1, EOF-2 and EOF-3 with their total variance of 63.6%, 16.5% and 4.8%, Indian ocean dipole (IOD) events resulted to a strong positive correlation of rainfall anomalies and Dipole model index (DMI) (r = 0.42, p value = 0.001, DF = 37) significant at 95% confidence level. The composite analysis for the reanalysis dataset was carried out to show the circulation patterns during four different events correlated with September to December seasonal rainfall in Rwanda using T-test at 95% confidence level. Wind anomaly revealed that there was a convergence of south westerly winds and easterly wind over the study area during positive Indian Ocean Diploe (PIOD) and PIOD with El Nino concurrence event years. The finding of this study will contribute to the enhancement of SOND seasonal rainfall forecasting and the reduction of vulnerability during IOD (ENSO) event years.展开更多

文摘Cross-Project Defect Prediction(CPDP)is a method that utilizes historical data from other source projects to train predictive models for defect prediction in the target project. However, existing CPDP methods only consider linear correlations between features(indicators)of the source and target projects. These models are not capable of evaluating non-linear correlations between features when they exist, for example, when there are differences in data distributions between the source and target projects. As a result, the performance of such CPDP models is compromised. In this paper, this paper proposes a novel CPDP method based on Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE)and Deep Canonical Correlation Analysis(DCCA),referred to as S-DCCA.Canonical Correlation Analysis(CCA)is employed to address the issue of non-linear correlations between features of the source and target projects.S-DCCA extends CCA by incorporating the MlpNet model for feature extraction from the dataset. The redundant features are then eliminated by maximizing the correlated feature subset using the CCA loss function.Finally,cross-project defect prediction is achieved through the application of the SMOTE data sampling technique.Area Under Curve(AUC)and F1 scores(F1)are used as evaluation metrics. This paper conducted experiments on 27 projects from four public datasets to validate the proposed method. The results demonstrate that,on average, our method outperforms all baseline approaches by at least 1.2%in AUC and 5.5%in F1 score. This indicates that the proposed method exhibits favorable performance characteristics.

文摘Earthquake investigations have shown that near-fault pulse-like(NF-P)ground motions have unique characteristics compared to near-fault non-pulse-like(NF-NP)and far-field(FF)ground motions. It is necessary to study the seismic response of pile-supported wharf(PSW)structures under NF-P ground motions. In this study,a three-dimensional finite element numerical model is created to simulate a PSW.By imparting three types of ground motion, the engineering demand parameters(EDPs)of PSW under NF-P ground motions were analyzed and compared,in which EDPs are the maximum displacement and bending moment of the piles.Twenty intensity measures(IMs)were selected to characterize the properties of ground motions. The correlation between IMs and EDPs was explored. The results show that the piles present larger displacement and bending moment under NF-P ground motions compared to NF-NP and FF ground motions.None of the IMs have a high correlation with EDPs under NF-P ground motions, and these IMs are more applicable to FF ground motions. The correlation coefficients between EDPs and IMs under three types of ground motion were obtained, which will provide a valuable reference for the seismic design of PSWs.

文摘AIM:To assess the repeatability, interocular correlation, and agreement of quantitative swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)optic nerve head(ONH)parameters in healthy subjects.METHODS:Thir ty-three healthy subjects were enrolled. The ONH of both eyes were imaged four times by a swept-source-OCTA using a 3 mm×3 mm scanning protocol.Images of the radial peripapillary capillary were analyzed by a customized Matlab program, and the vessel density, fractal dimension, and vessel diameter index were measured. The repeatability of the four scans was determined by the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC).The most well-centered optic disc from the four repeated scans was then selected for the interocular correlation and agreement analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient,ICC and Bland-Altman plots.RESULTS:All swept-source-OCTA ONH parameters exhibited certain repeatability, with ICC>0.760 and coefficient of variation(CoV)≤7.301%.The obvious interocular correlation was observed for papillary vessel density(ICC=0.857),vessel diameter index(ICC=0.857)and fractal dimension(ICC=0.906),while circumpapillary vessel density exhibited moderate interocular correlation(ICC=0.687).Bland-Altman plots revealed an agreement range of-5.26%to 6.21%for circumpapillary vessel density.CONCLUSION:OCTA ONH parameters demonstrate good repeatability in healthy subjects. The interocular correlations of papillary vessel density, fractal dimension and vessel diameter index are high, but the correlation for circumpapillary vessel density is moderate.
文摘Rock fracture mechanics and accurate characterization of rock fracture are crucial for understanding a variety of phenomena interested in geological engineering and geoscience. These phenomena range from very large-scale asymmetrical fault structures to the scale of engineering projects and laboratory-scale rock fracture tests.Comprehensive study can involve mechanical modeling, site or post-mortem investigations, and inspection on the point cloud of the source locations in the form of earthquake, microseismicity,or acoustic emission. This study presents a comprehensive data analysis on characterizing the forming of the asymmetrical damage zone around a laboratory mixed-mode rock fracture. We substantiate the presence of asymmetrical damage through qualitative analysis and demonstrate that measurement uncertainties cannot solely explain the observed asymmetry. The implications of this demonstration can be manifold. On a larger scale,it solidifies a mechanical model used for explaining the contribution of aseismic mechanisms to asymmetrical fault structures. On a laboratory scale,it exemplifies an alternative approach to understanding the observational difference between the source location and the in situ or post-mortem inspection on the rock fracture path. The mechanical model and the data analysis can be informative to the interpretations of other engineering practices as well, but may face different types of challenges.

文摘Beam splitting is one of the main approaches to achieving x-ray ghost imaging, and the intensity correlation between diffraction beam and transmission beam will directly affect the imaging quality. Results of this paper demonstrate that the developed beam splitter of Laue crystal has the potential in the efficient data acquisition of x-ray ghost imaging.
文摘In order to explore the correlation of 3 different methods of evaluating the degree of skin redness,45 healthy Chinese subjects aged 18~45 were recruited to attend a human efficacy evaluation test.An emulsion product which declares soothing and repair efficacy was used each time in the morning and evening for 4 weeks.Three methods, including visual assessment, image analysis and instrument measurement, were taken to test the related indices of skin redness degree respectively. The improvement of skin redness and the correlation of 3 methods were evaluated by comparing the changes of each index before and after using the product. The results show that the face redness degree score and the image analysis a*value significantly reduce at all time points after using the sample(P<0.05),while the instrument probe a*value significantly reduce at the time point after using for 2 weeks(P<0.05).The correlation coefficient of the face redness degree score and the instrument probe a*value is more than 0.33 and less than 0.67,and the significance level is less than 0.01.Therefore,the sample has soothing and repair efficacy for improving skin redness;and the methods of visual assessment and instrument measurement present moderate positive correlation.
文摘In spacecraft electronic devices, the deformation of solder balls within ball grid array(BGA)packages poses a significant risk of system failure. Therefore, accurately measuring the mechanical behavior of solder balls is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of spacecraft.Although finite element simulations have been extensively used to study solder ball deformation, there is a significant lack of experimental validation, particularly under thermal cycling conditions. This is due to the challenges in accurately measuring the internal deformations of solder balls and eliminating the rigid body displacement introduced during ex-situ thermal cycling tests. In this work,an ex-situ three-dimensional deformation measurement method using X-ray computed tomography(CT)and digital volume correlation(DVC)is proposed to overcome these obstacles.By incorporating the layer-wise reliability-guided displacement tracking(LW-RGDT)DVC with a singular value decomposition(SVD)method, this method enables accurate assessment of solder ball mechanical behavior in BGA packages without the influence of rigid body displacement.Experimental results reveal that BGA structures exhibit progressive convex deformation with increased thermal cycling, particularly in peripheral solder balls. This method provides a reliable and effective tool for assessing internal deformations in electronic packages under ex-situ conditions, which is crucial for their design optimization and lifespan predictions.
文摘The district cooling system (DCS) with ice storage can reduce the peak electricity demand of the business district buildings it serves, improve system efficiency, and lower operational costs. This research provides valuable insights and auxiliary guidance for data analysis and optimizing operations in practical engineering applications. .

文摘Aiming at the problem that the data-driven automatic correlation methods which are difficult to adapt to the automatic correlation of oil-bearing strata with large changes in lateral sedimentary facies and strata thickness,an intelligent automatic correlation method of oil-bearing strata based on pattern constraints is formed. We propose to introduce knowledge-driven in automatic correlation of oil-bearing strata, constraining the correlation process by stratigraphic sedimentary patterns and improving the similarity measuring machine and conditional constraint dynamic time warping algorithm to automate the correlation of marker layers and the interfaces of each stratum. The application in Shishen 100 block in the Shinan Oilfield of the Bohai Bay Basin shows that the coincidence rate of the marker layers identified by this method is over 95.00%,and the average coincidence rate of identified oil-bearing strata reaches 90.02% compared to artificial correlation results, which is about 17 percentage points higher than that of the existing automatic correlation methods. The accuracy of the automatic correlation of oil-bearing strata has been effectively improved.
文摘Understanding the relationship between rainfall anomalies and large-scale systems is critical for driving adaptation and mitigation strategies in socioeconomic sectors. The finding of this study will contribute to the enhancement of SOND seasonal rainfall forecasting and the reduction of vulnerability during IOD (ENSO) event years.
