The influence of cathodic pulse parameters was evaluated on plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings grown on 7075 aluminum alloy in a silicate-based electrolyte containing potassium titanyl oxalate(PTO)using pulsed...The influence of cathodic pulse parameters was evaluated on plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings grown on 7075 aluminum alloy in a silicate-based electrolyte containing potassium titanyl oxalate(PTO)using pulsed bipolar waveforms with various cathodic duty cycles and cathodic current densities.The coatings were characterized by SEM,EDS,and XRD.EIS was applied to investigate the electrochemical properties.It was observed that the increase of cathodic duty cycle and cathodic current density from 20%and 6 A/dm^(2) to 40%and 12 A/dm^(2) enhances the growth rate of the inner layer from 0.22 to 0.75μm/min.Adding PTO into the bath showed a fortifying effect on influence of the cathodic pulse and the mentioned change of cathodic pulse parameters,resulting in an increase of the inner layer growth rate from 0.25 to 1.10μm/min.Based on EDS analysis,Si and Ti were incorporated dominantly in the upper parts of the coatings.XRD technique merely detectedγ-Al_(2)O_(3),and there were no detectable peaks related to Ti and Si compounds.However,the EIS results confirmed that the incorporation of Ti^(4+)into alumina changed the electronic properties of the coating.The coatings obtained from the bath containing PTO using the bipolar waveforms with a cathodic duty cycle of 40%and current density values higher than 6 A/dm^(2) showed highly appropriate electrochemical behavior during 240 d of immersion due to an efficient repairing mechanism.Regarding the effects of studied parameters on the coating properties,the roles of cathodic pulse parameters and PTO in the PEO process were highlighted.展开更多

The influences of oxides on erosion, corrosion and wear behavior for high velocity arc sprayed Fe-Al/Cr3C2 coatings were studied. The results show that HVAS-sprayed Fe-Al/Cr3C2 coatings have good erosion, heat corrosion and wear resistance. The erosion resistance improves with the increase of the temperature. On one hand, the ferrous oxides are incompact, so they peel off the surface of the coatings easily during the high temperature erosion. On the other hand, compact Al2O3 films on the surface can protect the coatings.展开更多

Experimentalresults showed that the abrasive wear resistance of Al_2O_3/PA1010 composite coatings has a goodlinear relationship with the volume fraction of Al_2O_3 particles in Al_2O_3/PA1010 compositecoatings, and the linear correlative coefficient is 0.979. Under the experimental conditions, thesize of Al_2O_3 particles (40.5-161.0 μm) has little influence on the abrasive wear resistance ofAl_2O_3/PA1010 composite coatings. By treating the surface of Al_2O_3 particles with a suitablebonding agent, the distribution of Al_2O_3 particles in matrix PA1010 is more homogeneous and thebonding state between Al_2O_3 particles and matrix PA1010 is better. Therefore, the Al_2O_3particles in Al_2O_3/PA1010 composite coatings make the Al_2O_3/PA1010 composite coatings havebetter abrasive wear resistance than PA1010 coatings. The wear resistance of Al_2O_3/PA1010composite coatings is about 45% compared with that of steel 45.展开更多

Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)was applied using a pulsed unipolar waveform to produce Al_(2)O_(3)−TiO_(2) composite coatings from sol electrolytic solutions containing colloidal TiO_(2) nanoparticles.The sol solut...Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)was applied using a pulsed unipolar waveform to produce Al_(2)O_(3)−TiO_(2) composite coatings from sol electrolytic solutions containing colloidal TiO_(2) nanoparticles.The sol solutions were produced by dissolving 1,3,and 5 g/L of potassium titanyl oxalate(PTO)in a silicate solution.Scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and Raman spectroscopy were applied to characterizing the coatings.Corrosion behavior of the coatings was investigated using polarization and impedance techniques.The results indicated that TiO_(2) enters the coating through all types of micro-discharging and is doped into the alumina phase.The higher level of TiO_(2) incorporation results in the decrease of surface micro-pores,while the lower incorporation shows a reverse effect.It was revealed that the higher TiO_(2) content makes a more compact outer layer and increases the inner layer thickness of the coating.Electrochemical measurements revealed that the coating obtained from the solution containing 3 g/L PTO exhibits higher corrosion performance than that obtained in the absence of PTO.The coating produced in the absence of PTO consists of γ-Al_(2)O_(3),δ-Al_(2)O_(3) and amorphous phases,while α-Al_(2)O_(3) is promoted by the presence of PTO.展开更多

The oxida...Satellited CoNiCrAlY–Al_(2)O_(3)feedstocks with 2wt%, 4wt%, and 6wt% oxide nanoparticles and pure CoNiCrAlY powder were deposited by the high-velocity oxy fuel process on an Inconel738 superalloy substrate. The oxidation test was performed at 1050℃ for 5, 50, 100,150, 200, and 400 h. The microstructure and phase composition of powders and coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. The bonding strength of the coatings was also evaluated. The results proved that with the increase in the percentage of nanoparticles(from 2wt% to 6wt%), the amount of porosity(from 1vol% to 4.7vol%), unmelted particles, and roughness of the coatings(from 4.8 to 8.8 μm) increased, and the bonding strength decreased from 71 to 48 MPa. The thicknesses of the thermally grown oxide layer of pure and composite coatings(2wt%, 4wt%, and 6wt%) after 400 h oxidation were measured as 6.5, 5.5, 7.6, and 8.1 μm, respectively.The CoNiCrAlY–2wt% Al_(2)O_(3)coating showed the highest oxidation resistance due to the diffusion barrier effect of well-dispersed nanoparticles. The CoNiCrAlY–6wt% Al_(2)O_(3)coating had the lowest oxidation resistance due to its rough surface morphology and porous microstructure.展开更多
The oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of isobutane over Cr_2O_3/La_2(CO_3)_3 has been investigated in a low-pressure Knudsen cell reactor, under conditions where the kinetics of the primary reaction steps can be accurat...The oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of isobutane over Cr_2O_3/La_2(CO_3)_3 has been investigated in a low-pressure Knudsen cell reactor, under conditions where the kinetics of the primary reaction steps can be accurately determined. By heating the catalyst at a constant rate from 150-300℃, temperature fluctuations due to non-equilibrium adsorption are minimized. The evolved gas profiles show that ODH to isobutene and water is a primary reaction pathway, while carbon dioxide, which forms from the catalyst during reaction, is the only other product. This CO2 evolution may enhance the activity of the catalyst. Isobutene formation proceeds with the participation of lattice oxygen from the Cr2O3/La2(CO3)3 catalyst. The intrinsic Arrhenius rate constant for the ODH of isobutane isk(s-1) = 1011.5±2.2exp{-((55±5) -ΔHads kJmol-1)/RT}The small pre-exponential factor is expected for a concerted mechanism and for such a catalyst with a small surface area and limited porosity.展开更多

The initial isothermal oxidation behavior of (Ni,Pd)AI coating was investigated by TGA, XRD, SEM/EDS at 800-1100℃. Results show that oxidation kinetics accord preferably with parabolic law at 800, 900 and 1100℃, but not at 1000℃. θ-AI203 was observed at 800-1100℃. It is found that Pd plays an important role in accelerating the diffusion of Ti from the substrate to the coating surface in the aluminide coating.展开更多
An organic-inorganic hybrid sealing agent was fabricated and used in the plasma sprayed Al_(2)O_(3)-13 wt%TiO_(2)coating,and conventional silicone agent was also used for comparison.Protection performance of the coati...An organic-inorganic hybrid sealing agent was fabricated and used in the plasma sprayed Al_(2)O_(3)-13 wt%TiO_(2)coating,and conventional silicone agent was also used for comparison.Protection performance of the coatings was comprehensively evaluated based on both anti-corrosion and anti-biofouling properties.The results reveal that the sealing treatment is remarkably useful to decrease the porosity of the coating,and the porosity of the coating sealed with the hybrid agent is only 0.035%.Immersion corrosion test and Tafel polarization test reveal that the sealed coating with the hybrid agent exhibits a better corrosion resistance by compared with the coating sealed with silicone agent.The corrosion current density i_(corr) of the hybrid agent sealed coating is only 0.7×10^(-6)A·cm^(-2).Moreover,anti-biofouling tests both in the outdoor analogue hydraulic environment and in the natural marine environment prove that the mentioned novel coating presents a better combination of corrosion resistance and anti-biofouling property by compared with the other coatings,and it could be used as a protection of metal components in the marine environment.展开更多

The effect of Cr2O3 on the nucleation and crystallization of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-F- glass has been investigated by means of ESR(Electron Spin Resonance), SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), EDS(Energy Dispersive Specro...The effect of Cr2O3 on the nucleation and crystallization of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-F- glass has been investigated by means of ESR(Electron Spin Resonance), SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), EDS(Energy Dispersive Specrometer) and so on. Computer pattern recognition is applied to optimize the heat-treatment schedules. The experimental results show that the base glass containing more than 1 .5 % (mass fraction) Cr2O3 can be nucleated internally and converted to spheroidal crystal glass materials. The spheroidal crystal consisted of fibrous wollastonite crystals radiating from a center. The residual glass phase filled in the interstices between the fibers and between the spherulites. During heat treatment process, the valence states ofchromium changed from Cr6- to Cr3-, and the Cr-spinel solidsolution [CaCr2O4] precipitated followed this valence change. At the primary stage of crystallization, the Cr-spinel could act as a nucleating center on which the principal or}stalline phase β-CaSiO3 grew epitaxially.展开更多

A new-type of β-NiAl coating containing Y_2O_3 particles was obtained by electrolytic co-deposition and pack aluminizing techniques,and the influences of the nature of Y_2O_3 and its content on the oxidation behaviou...A new-type of β-NiAl coating containing Y_2O_3 particles was obtained by electrolytic co-deposition and pack aluminizing techniques,and the influences of the nature of Y_2O_3 and its content on the oxidation behaviour of the coating at 1100℃ were studied.The test results indicate that the oxidation rates of the composite coatings are reduced and the scale adhesion is also improved remarkably.The content of Y_2O_3 has little influence on the oxidation rates of the composite coatings,but does obviously on the scale adhesion by modifying the configura- tion of the oxides at the scale-coating interface.The needle-like oxides penetrating into the coating show an obvious keying effect.A part of the dispersed Y_2O_3 in the as-deposited coating accumulates and forms a Y_2O_3-rich layer at the coating-substrate interface immediately after aluminizing.The layer is beneficial to reduce the degradation of the composite coating.展开更多
NiAl-La2O3 compostite coating was prepared by Ni-La2O3 electrodeposited and pack aluminized at 1173 K on Ni-base superalloy K38. The result of oxidation in air at 1273 K for 20 h shows that the oxidation rate of NiAl-...NiAl-La2O3 compostite coating was prepared by Ni-La2O3 electrodeposited and pack aluminized at 1173 K on Ni-base superalloy K38. The result of oxidation in air at 1273 K for 20 h shows that the oxidation rate of NiAl-La2O3 coating is remarkably lower than that of NiAl-La2O3 free coating. The oxide film surface morphology of NiAl-La2O3 composite coating was obviously modified after oxidation. HREM study of the fine structure of aluminum oxide on the composite coating shows that La2O3 particles with diameter of 10 ̄40 nm were incorporated into u-Al2O3 layer. It is believed that La2O3 dispersive particles improve NiAl coating oxidation resistance by a way to influence aluminum layer microstructure and to modify cationic transfer behavior of the layer growth.展开更多

The results show that TiC is in-situ synthesized in the coatings. The methods of introducing Cr_3C_2 have great effects on the distribution of TiC. Adding Cr_3C_2 directly to the raw materials for coatings, fine TiC particles aggregate into discoids parallel to the coating surface, whereas, in-situ synthesizing Cr_3C_2 in coatings, the aggregations of TiC are lumpish. During braze coating, Cr_3C_2 particles directly added dissolve and precipitate to become needle-shaped. The coatings have an even and smooth surface and are combined with their mild steel substrates by a metallurgical bonding.展开更多

The phase structure and morphology of the coating we...The corrosion resistance of NiCrAl+(ZrO2+Y2O3)thermal barrier coating, formed with the plasma spraying technique, on the 18[CD*2]8 steel surface was investigated. The phase structure and morphology of the coating were analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The electrochemical corrosion behavior of the coating in 1.0mol/L H2SO4 solution was studied by using electrochemical measurement methods. The results show that the gradient plasma spraying coating is composed of the NiCrAlY primer coating and the (ZrO2+Y2O3 ) top coating, and the coating thickness is 360μm. The microhardness of coating reaches 1100HV. The corrosion resistance of the plasma sprayed coating of the 18[CD*2]8 steel surface is about 5 times as great as that of the original pattern. The corrosion resistance of the coating is enhanced notably.展开更多

By heating the catalyst at a constant rate from 150-300℃, temperature fluctuations due to non-equilibrium adsorption are minimized. The evolved gas profiles show that ODH to isobutene and water is a primary reaction pathway, while carbon dioxide, which forms from the catalyst during reaction, is the only other product. This CO2 evolution may enhance the activity of the catalyst. Isobutene formation proceeds with the participation of lattice oxygen from the Cr2O3/La2(CO3)3 catalyst. The intrinsic Arrhenius rate constant for the ODH of isobutane isk(s-1) = 1011.5±2.2exp{-((55±5) -ΔHads kJmol-1)/RT}The small pre-exponential factor is expected for a concerted mechanism and for such a catalyst with a small surface area and limited porosity.
文摘(Ni,Pd)AI coating, prepared by low pressure pack cementation on the Ni-base superalloy M38 where Pd-20 wt pct Ni alloy was predeposited, consists of a single β-(Ni,Pd)AI phase. The initial isothermal oxidation behavior of (Ni,Pd)AI coating was investigated by TGA, XRD, SEM/EDS at 800-1100℃. Results show that oxidation kinetics accord preferably with parabolic law at 800, 900 and 1100℃, but not at 1000℃. θ-AI203 was observed at 800-1100℃. It is found that Pd plays an important role in accelerating the diffusion of Ti from the substrate to the coating surface in the aluminide coating.

文摘An organic-inorganic hybrid sealing agent was fabricated and used in the plasma sprayed Al_(2)O_(3)-13 wt%TiO_(2)coating,and conventional silicone agent was also used for comparison.Protection performance of the coatings was comprehensively evaluated based on both anti-corrosion and anti-biofouling properties.The results reveal that the sealing treatment is remarkably useful to decrease the porosity of the coating,and the porosity of the coating sealed with the hybrid agent is only 0.035%.Immersion corrosion test and Tafel polarization test reveal that the sealed coating with the hybrid agent exhibits a better corrosion resistance by compared with the coating sealed with silicone agent.The corrosion current density i_(corr) of the hybrid agent sealed coating is only 0.7×10^(-6)A·cm^(-2).Moreover,anti-biofouling tests both in the outdoor analogue hydraulic environment and in the natural marine environment prove that the mentioned novel coating presents a better combination of corrosion resistance and anti-biofouling property by compared with the other coatings,and it could be used as a protection of metal components in the marine environment.
文摘Two calculation models of mass action concentrations for CaO-MgO-SiO_2-Al_2O_3-Cr_2O_3 penta-slag was presented whether 3CaO·Cr_2O_3·3SiO_2 was existence or not.Equilibrium mass action concentration of each element structure was gained.And the models results were compared with experimental activity.The final results illustrated the model without 3CaO·Cr_2O_33SiO_2 was suit for reality.The model could response the element structure of slag as well.
文摘The effect of Cr2O3 on the nucleation and crystallization of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-F- glass has been investigated by means of ESR(Electron Spin Resonance), SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), EDS(Energy Dispersive Specrometer) and so on. Computer pattern recognition is applied to optimize the heat-treatment schedules. The experimental results show that the base glass containing more than 1 .5 % (mass fraction) Cr2O3 can be nucleated internally and converted to spheroidal crystal glass materials. The spheroidal crystal consisted of fibrous wollastonite crystals radiating from a center. The residual glass phase filled in the interstices between the fibers and between the spherulites. During heat treatment process, the valence states ofchromium changed from Cr6- to Cr3-, and the Cr-spinel solidsolution [CaCr2O4] precipitated followed this valence change. At the primary stage of crystallization, the Cr-spinel could act as a nucleating center on which the principal or}stalline phase β-CaSiO3 grew epitaxially.

文摘A new-type of β-NiAl coating containing Y_2O_3 particles was obtained by electrolytic co-deposition and pack aluminizing techniques,and the influences of the nature of Y_2O_3 and its content on the oxidation behaviour of the coating at 1100℃ were studied.The test results indicate that the oxidation rates of the composite coatings are reduced and the scale adhesion is also improved remarkably.The content of Y_2O_3 has little influence on the oxidation rates of the composite coatings,but does obviously on the scale adhesion by modifying the configura- tion of the oxides at the scale-coating interface.The needle-like oxides penetrating into the coating show an obvious keying effect.A part of the dispersed Y_2O_3 in the as-deposited coating accumulates and forms a Y_2O_3-rich layer at the coating-substrate interface immediately after aluminizing.The layer is beneficial to reduce the degradation of the composite coating.
文摘NiAl-La2O3 compostite coating was prepared by Ni-La2O3 electrodeposited and pack aluminized at 1173 K on Ni-base superalloy K38. The result of oxidation in air at 1273 K for 20 h shows that the oxidation rate of NiAl-La2O3 coating is remarkably lower than that of NiAl-La2O3 free coating. The oxide film surface morphology of NiAl-La2O3 composite coating was obviously modified after oxidation. HREM study of the fine structure of aluminum oxide on the composite coating shows that La2O3 particles with diameter of 10 ̄40 nm were incorporated into u-Al2O3 layer. It is believed that La2O3 dispersive particles improve NiAl coating oxidation resistance by a way to influence aluminum layer microstructure and to modify cationic transfer behavior of the layer growth.
文摘A new hardfacing process, reactive braze coating process (RBCC) was studied, and (TiC+Cr_3C_2)/Fe composite coatings were prepared by RBCC using carbon, Cr_3C_2, iron, ferrochromium and titanium powder as the raw materials in vacuum braze furnace. The results show that TiC is in-situ synthesized in the coatings. The methods of introducing Cr_3C_2 have great effects on the distribution of TiC. Adding Cr_3C_2 directly to the raw materials for coatings, fine TiC particles aggregate into discoids parallel to the coating surface, whereas, in-situ synthesizing Cr_3C_2 in coatings, the aggregations of TiC are lumpish. During braze coating, Cr_3C_2 particles directly added dissolve and precipitate to become needle-shaped. The coatings have an even and smooth surface and are combined with their mild steel substrates by a metallurgical bonding.
文摘The corrosion resistance of NiCrAl+(ZrO2+Y2O3)thermal barrier coating, formed with the plasma spraying technique, on the 18[CD*2]8 steel surface was investigated. The phase structure and morphology of the coating were analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The electrochemical corrosion behavior of the coating in 1.0mol/L H2SO4 solution was studied by using electrochemical measurement methods. The results show that the gradient plasma spraying coating is composed of the NiCrAlY primer coating and the (ZrO2+Y2O3 ) top coating, and the coating thickness is 360μm. The microhardness of coating reaches 1100HV. The corrosion resistance of the plasma sprayed coating of the 18[CD*2]8 steel surface is about 5 times as great as that of the original pattern. The corrosion resistance of the coating is enhanced notably.
