An equation for crack growth rate was derived to consider the trend of stress intensity factor range going down to the threshold and the average stress effect. The probabilistic models were presented on the equation. They consist of the probabilistic da/dN-ΔK relations, the confidence-based da/dN-ΔK relations, and the probabilistic- and confidence-based da/dN-ΔK relations. Efforts were made respectively to characterize the effects of probabilistic assessments due to the scattering regularity of test data, the number of sampling, and both of them. These relations can provide wide selections for practice. Analysis on the test data of LZ50 steel indicates that the present models are available and feasible.展开更多

The Gurson-Tverpaaof dilatant plasticity model for voided materials describes the damage process. Fixed-sized, computational cell elements (containing voids) defined over a thin layer at the cmck plane simulate the ductile crack extension. Outside of this layer, the material remains undamaged by the void growth. The micro-mechanics parumeters controlling cmck growth are the thickness Of computational cell layen D, and the initial void porosity, fo. These parameters are calculated through analyses of ductile tearing to match R-curve obtained from testing of deep notch bend specimens for welded joints. The R-curve for the double edge notched tension specimens is eNctively predicted using these pammeters. The predicted R-curve gives a good agreement with the expemment results.展开更多

In this paper, ferritic steel A533B is studied, Gurson damage model is used to simulate crack process of contact tension specimen under unitension, and effect of Gurson model parameter on simulation result is discussed. The following results are found during simulation: initial porosity factor is the main parameter, when it increases gradually, unstable crack extension will be observed;however, only initial J toughness is affected by critical porosity factor;the minor parameter is load step control, when it increases, stable and convergent result is obtained. All results in this paper can be used to determine parameters in Gurson mode, which will be foundation for crack extension analysis of pipeline.展开更多

Applying this model to intraplate earthquake regions, we select three earthquake subplates: North China Subplate, Chuan Dian Block and Xinjiang Subplate, and divide the three subplates into seven researched regions by the difference of seismicity and tectonic conditions. With the modified equation given by Sornette and Sammis (1995), we analysis the seismicity of each region. To those strong earthquakes already occurred in these region, the model can give close fitting of magnitude and occurrence time, and the result in this article indicates that the seismicity acceleration model can also be used for describing the seismicity of intraplate. In the article, we give the magnitude and occurrence time of possible strong earthquakes in Shanxi, Ordos, Bole Tuokexun, Ayinke Wuqia earthquake regions. In the same subplate or block, the earthquake periods for each earthquake region are similar in time interval. The constant α in model can be used to describe the intensity of regional seismicity, and for the Chinese Mainland, α is 0.4 generally. To the seismicity in Taiwan and other regions with complex tectonic conditions, the model does not fit well at present.展开更多
