This happens mainly because of a gap that exists between engineering and psychology fields, with the first developing planning tools for production but with little concern for creativity and the other developing spaces for creativity, but with a lack of tools. Both try to solve the same issue: fostering productivity in the workplace, but they need to be linked first, in order to accomplish it. How to close this gap? Can a project manager plan the facilities for a creative organizational in the best way possible? In this paper, a new approach is used for studying the design of physical environments that foster organizational creativity, combining the results of psychological studies on the impact of physical environment on creativity with the facilities planning body of knowledge applied by industrial engineers. In order to test the results, a single case study is developed in a small IT consulting firm. By using the systematic layout planning (SLP) step by step process, it is shown that by acting on the work environment of the company, the developers creative processes can be boosted and facilitated. It is also shown that both industrial engineering and creativity research have much to contribute to each other and future research topics in the field are presented.展开更多

With the rapid development of the city, the phenomena of“large-scale demolition and construction” and “a thousand cities having the same pattern” are becoming more and more serious, and the urban characteristics containing rich historical information are gradually lost. As an important witness of the historical development of urban industry, industrial heritage contains precious historical and cultural values. Starting urban memory, and taking Taoxichuan Square as the example, through field research and memory interview, the continuation manner of urban memory in industrial heritage space is studied, and the transformation strategy of industrial heritage is put forward from the perspective of urban memory, making industrial heritage have a unique life cycle and cultural precipitation, inherit the urban context and promote the harmonious development of society.展开更多

The micro creative space of Gongshu District in Hangzhou has experienced a rapid and mixed development. Considering the existing problems of those space, the following measures can help those space realize an organic urban growth: arranging the layout comprehensively, optimizing industrial agglomeration, improving the planning management quality and optimizing public platform serx, ice support. The good development of micro creative garden can promote the full flow of creative element, so as to accelerate city economic structure transformation, increase city space efficiency and promote the city innovation development.展开更多

The five ontological elements of the i-System are Intelligence, Involvement, Imagination, Intervention, and Integration corresponding to five diverse dimensions of the Creative Space. The paper discusses the meanings and functions of these dimensions in knowledge integration and creation, and presents applications of the i-System to technology roadmapping and archiving.展开更多
