The characteristics of diffusion in nano-scale pores in matrix and desorption on the matrix surface were both considered in the improved differential equations for seepage flow. By integrating the Langmuir isotherm desorption items into the new total dimensionless compression coefficient in matrix, the transport function and seepage flow could be formalized, simplified and consistent with the conventional form of diffusion equation. Furthermore, by utilizing the Laplace change and Sethfest inversion changes, the calculated results were obtained and further discussions indicated that transfer mechanisms were influenced by diffusion, adsorption/desorption. The research shows that when the matrix permeability is closed to magnitude of 10^-9D, the matrix flow only occurs near the surfacial matrix; as to the actual production, the central matrix blocks are barely involved in the production; the closer to the surface of matrix, the lower the pressure is and the more obvious the diffusion effect is; the behavior of adsorption/desorption can increase the matrix flow rate significantly and slow down the pressure of horizontal well obviously.展开更多

As a result, solid-liquid two-phase flow(hydrate and water) transforms into gas-solid-liquid three-phase flow(methane, hydrate and water) inside the pipeline. The Euler model and CFD-PBM model were used to simulate gas-solid-liquid three-phase flow. Numerical simulation results show that the gas and solid phase gradually accumulate to the center of the pipe. Flow velocity decreases from center to boundary of the pipe along the radial direction. Comparison of numerical simulation results of two models reveals that the flow state simulated by CFD-PBM model is more uniform than that simulated by Euler model, and the main behavior of the bubble is small bubbles coalescence to large one. Comparison of numerical simulation and experimental investigation shows that the values of flow velocity and gas fraction in CFD-PBM model agree with experimental data better than those in Euler model. The proposed PBM model provides a more accurate and effective way to estimate three-phase flow state of transporting gas hydrate within the submarine pipeline.展开更多

Flue gases released from power plants can provide an available source of CO_2,which would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere, for injection into a reservoir. However, the costs related to gas extraction from flue gases is potentially high. Hence, greater understanding the role of impurities in miscibility characteristics between CO_2 and reservoir fluids helps to establish which impurities are tolerable and which are not. In this study, we simulate the effects of the impurities nitrogen(N_2), methane(C_1), ethane(C_2) and propane(C_3) on CO_2 MMP. The simulation results reveal that,as an impurity, nitrogen increases CO_2–oil MMP more so than methane. On the other hand, increasing the propane(C_3)content can lead to a significant decrease in CO_2 MMP, whereas varying the concentrations of ethane(C_2) does not have a significant effect on the minimum miscibility pressure of reservoir crude oil and CO_2 gas. The novel relationships established are particularly valuable in circumstances where MMP experimental data are not available.展开更多

文摘The most economical way to overcome flow assurance problems associated with transportation of heavy crude oil through offshore pipelines is by emulsifying it with water in the presence of a suitable surfactant. In this research,a novel surfactant,tri-triethanolamine monosunflower ester, was synthesized in the laboratory by extracting fatty acids present in sunflower(Helianthus annuus)oil.Synthesized surfactant was used to prepare oil-in-water emulsions of a heavy crude oil from the western oil field of India. After emulsification,a dramatic decrease in pour point as well as viscosity was observed. All the prepared emulsions were found to be flowing even at 1°C.The emulsion developed with 60%oil content and 2wt%surfactant showed a decrease in viscosity of 96%.The stability of the emulsion was investigated at different temperatures, and it was found to be highly stable. The effectiveness of surfactant in emulsifying the heavy oil in water was investigated by measuring the equilibrium interfacial tension(IFT)between the crude oil(diluted)and the aqueous phase along with zeta potential of emulsions.2wt%surfactant decreased IFT by almost nine times that of no surfactant. These results suggested that the synthesized surfactant may be used to prepare a stable oil-in-water emulsion for its transportation through offshore pipelines efficiently.

文摘Underwater transportation of bubbles and gases has essential applications in manipulating and using gas,but achieving this function at the microscopic level remains a significant challenge. Here,we report a strategy to self-transport gas in water along a laser-induced open superhydrophobic microchannel with a width less than 100μm.The femtosecond laser can directly write superhydrophobic and underwater superaerophilic microgrooves on the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)surfaces. In water, the single laser-induced microgroove and water medium generate a hollow microchannel. When the microchannel connects two superhydrophobic regions in water, the gas spontaneously travels from the small region to the large area along this hollow microchannel.Gas self-transportation can be extended to laser-drilled microholes through a thin PTFE sheet, which can even achieve anti-buoyancy unidirectional penetration. The gas can overcome the bubble’s buoyance and spontaneously travel downward. The Laplace pressure difference drives the processes of spontaneous gas transportation and unidirectional bubble passage. We believe the property of gas self-transportation in the femtosecond laser-structured open superhydrophobic and underwater superaerophilic microgrooves/microholes has significant potential applications related to manipulating underwater gas.

文摘To improve the understanding of the transport mechanism in shale gas reservoirs and build a theoretical basic for further researches on productivity evaluation and efficient exploitation, various gas transport mechanisms within a shale gas reservoir exploited by a horizontal well were thoroughly investigated, which took diffusion, adsorption/desorption and Darcy flow into account. The research shows that when the matrix permeability is closed to magnitude of 10^-9D, the matrix flow only occurs near the surfacial matrix; as to the actual production, the central matrix blocks are barely involved in the production; the closer to the surface of matrix, the lower the pressure is and the more obvious the diffusion effect is; the behavior of adsorption/desorption can increase the matrix flow rate significantly and slow down the pressure of horizontal well obviously.
文摘The environmental risks associated with casing deformation in unconventional(shale)gas wells positioned in abutment pillars of longwall mines is a concern to many in the mining and gas well industry. With the recent interest in shale exploration and the proximity to longwall mining in Southwestern Pennsylvania, the risk to mine workers could be catastrophic as fractures in surrounding strata create pathways for transport of leaked gases.Hence, this research by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)presents an analytical model of the gas transport through fractures in a low permeable stratum. The derived equations are used to conduct parametric studies of specific transport conditions to understand the influence of stratum geology, fracture lengths, and the leaked gas properties on subsurface transport. The results indicated that the prediction that the subsurface gas flux decreases with an increase in fracture length is specifically for a non-gassy stratum. The sub-transport trend could be significantly impacted by the stratum gas generation rate within specific fracture lengths, which emphasized the importance of the stratum geology. These findings provide new insights for improved understanding of subsurface gas transport to ensure mine safety.

文摘In the hydraulic transporting process of cutter-suction mining natural gas hydrate, when the temperature-pressure equilibrium of gas hydrate is broken, gas hydrates dissociate into gas. The proposed PBM model provides a more accurate and effective way to estimate three-phase flow state of transporting gas hydrate within the submarine pipeline.
文摘1 INTRODUCTIONMany attempts to develop semipermeable membranes for gas separation have beendone over the past twenty years [1,2].However,it is still difficult to prepare apolymer film which makes certain gas separation processed within range of being econ-omically and technically feasible, since most polymeric materials are relativelyimpermeable to gases.Facilitated transport concept which was first proposed
文摘An effective parameter in the miscible-CO_2 enhanced oil recovery procedure is the minimum miscibility pressure(MMP)defined as the lowest pressure that the oil in place and the injected gas into reservoir achieve miscibility at a given temperature. The novel relationships established are particularly valuable in circumstances where MMP experimental data are not available.

文摘Different from the conventional gas reservoirs, gas transport in nanoporous shales is complicated due to multiple transport mechanisms and reservoir characteristics. In this work,we presented a unified apparent gas permeability model for real gas transport in organic and inorganic nanopores, considering real gas effect, organic matter(OM)porosity,Knudsen diffusion, surface diffusion, and stress dependence.Meanwhile, the effects of monolayer and multilayer adsorption on gas transport are included. Then,we validated the model by experimental results. The influences of pore radius, pore pressure,OM porosity, temperature, and stress dependence on gas transport behavior and their contributions to the total apparent gas permeability(AGP)were analyzed. The results show that the adsorption effect causes Kn(OM)>Kn(IM)when the pore pressure is larger than 1 MPa and the pore radius is less than 100 nm.The ratio of the AGP over the intrinsic permeability decreases with an increase in pore radius or pore pressure. For nanopores with a radius of less than 10 nm,the effects of the OM porosity, surface diffusion coefficient, and temperature on gas transport cannot be negligible. Moreover, the surface diffusion almost dominates in nanopores with a radius less than 2 nm under high OM porosity conditions. For the small-radius and low-pressure conditions, gas transport is governed by the Knudsen diffusion in nanopores. This study focuses on revealing gas transport behavior in nanoporous shales.

文摘CF3I gas mixtures have attracted considerable attention as potential environmentally-friendly alternatives to SF6 gas, owing to their excellent insulating performance. This paper attempts to study the CF3I ternary gas mixtures with c-C4F8 and buffer gases N2 and CO2 by considering dielectric strength from electron transport parameters based on the Boltzmann method and synergistic effect analysis, compared with SF6 gas mixtures. The results confirm that the critical electric field strength of CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2 is greater than that of 30%SF6/70%CO2 when the CF3I content is greater than 17%.Moreover,a higher content of c-C4F8 decreases the sensitivity of gas mixtures to an electric field, and this phenomenon is more obvious in CF3I/c-C4F8/CO2 gas mixtures. The synergistic effects for CF3I/c-C4F8/70%N2 were most obvious when the c-C4F8 content was approximately 20%,and for CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2 when the c-C4F8 content was approximately 10%.On the basis of this research,CF3I/c-C4F8/70%N2 shows better insulation performance when the c-C4F8 content is in the15%–20%range.For CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2,when the c-C4F8 content is in the 10%–15%range,the gas mixtures have excellent performance.Hence, these gas systems might be used as alternative gas mixtures to SF6 in high-voltage equipment.
