The mechanisms of silane coupling agent's effects on mechanical properties of rubber microwave absorbing patch ( RMAP ) and microvave absorbing patch's (MAP's) mierostrueture were also discussed by using SEM and FT-IR. The experimental results show that the tensile strength of RMAP could be increased through adding the filler of carbonyl iron powder (CIP) modified by silane coupling agent. RMAP fiUed with CIP, which was treated by silane coupling agent KH550, possessed a high tensile strength of 11.5 MPa, which was 448% more than that of MAP whose filler wus not modified by any coupling agent. It was found that the optimal amount of KH550 was 1.0 phr to 100.0 phr carbonyl iron powder. The effects of different modifying techniques on RMAP's mechanical properties were also inrestigated. It is indieated that MAP whose filler is modified by the wet process has the highest tensile strength, but it is not the optimal modiifying technique due to complieated wet process. On the contrary, the dry process was very simple, and VRMAP possessed fairly high mechanical properties, therefore, it was the perfect modifying process.展开更多

The results show that the differential pressure in the fluidized bed, which has small fluctuation with time, increases with the increase of gas flowing velocity. The utilization ratio of gas decreases when the reaction lasts longer time indicating that the reaction is faster at the beginning of reduction and becomes slower in the latter process. The higher the reaction temperature is, the higher the utilization ratio of gas is, but the difference of utilization ratio among the different temperatures becomes smaller with time. The utilization ratio of gas and the metallization ratio can reach 9% and 84% respectively at 750℃ for 20 min, which shows the reduction reaction by H2 is very fast. The increase of metallization ratio with gas velocity performs quite good linearity, which shows that a higher velocity of reducing gas can be used to improve the productivity of the reactor when H2 is used as reducing gas. With the increase of charge height, the metallization ratio decreases, but the utilization ratio of gas increases. The reaction temperature can be reduced to 700-750℃ from 800-850℃ when H2 is used as reducing gas.展开更多

Ball milling was introduced to overcome the problems of agglomeration and powder separation during powder mixing. After ball milling, the fine NbC particles are embedded on the surface of iron particles and evenly distributed in the mixed powders. Warm compaction was used not only to increase the green density but also to improve the formability of the mixed powder and to improve the compact’s green strength to facilitate handling. The influences of fabrication parameters such as ball milling time, annealing temperature and time, warm compaction temperature, sintering temperature and sintering time were studied. Compacts with a relative sintered density of 97% and a tensile strength of more than 800?MPa can be obtained by using a ball milling time of 5?h, an annealing temperature of 800?℃, a compaction pressure of 600?MPa, warm compaction temperature of 120?℃, sintering temperature of 1?280?℃, and sintering time of 80?min. The shrinkage at this sintering condition was approximately 4.3%.展开更多

Various techniques are employed to produce this magnetic abrasive, but few can meet production demands because they are usually time-consuming, complex with high cost, and the magnetic abrasives made by these techniques have irregular shape and low bonding strength that result in low processing efficiency and shorter service life. Therefore, an attempt is made by combining gas atomization and rapid solidification to fabricate a new iron-based SiC spherical composite magnetic abrasive. The experimental system to prepare this new magnetic abrasive is constructed according to the characteristics of gas atomization and rapid solidification process and the performance requirements of magnetic abrasive. The new iron-based SiC spherical composite magnetic abrasive is prepared successfully when the machining parameters and the composition proportion of the raw materials are controlled properly. Its morphology, microstructure, phase composition are characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis. The MAF tests on plate of mold steel S136 are carried out without grinding lubricant to assess the finishing performance and service life of this new SiC magnetic abrasive. The surface roughness(Ra) of the plate worked is rapidly reduced to 0.051 μm from an initial value of 0.372 μm within 5 min. The MAF test is carried on to find that the service life of this new SiC magnetic abrasive reaches to 155 min. The results indicate that this process presented is feasible to prepare the new SiC magnetic abrasive; and compared with previous magnetic abrasives, the new SiC spherical composite magnetic abrasive has excellent finishing performance, high processing efficiency and longer service life. The presented method to fabricate magnetic abrasive through gas atomization and rapid solidification presented can significantly improve the finishing performance and service life of magnetic abrasive, and provide a more practical approach for large-scale industrial production of magnetic abrasive.展开更多

Effect of die wall lubrication on the powder’s warm compaction behavior was also studied. The use of smaller size colloidal graphite investigated can give a higher compact density and lesser spring back effect than the use of flake graphite.
文摘Mechanical properties of the warm compacted alumina particulate reinforced powder metallurgy composite materials was compared with those of the materials obtained by conventional cold compaction. Factors affecting the properties of the warm compacted material such as compaction temperature, lubricant content and alumina content were studied. A 3%(mass fraction) alumina particulate reinforced iron-base composite with a green density of 7.0 g/cm 3 can be obtained by pressing the powder with a pressure of 700 MPa at 175 ℃. The sintered materials have a density of 6.88 g/cm 3, a tensile strength of 512 MPa and an elongation of 1.3%. Results show that as alumina content increases, density and mechanical properties of the composite decrease.
文摘The paper reviews original data obtained by the present authors, revealed in recent separate publications, describing specific procedures for high quality grey irons, and reflecting the forecast needs of the worldwide iron foundry industry.High power, medium frequency coreless induction furnaces are commonly used in electric melting grey iron foundries. This has resulted in low sulphur(<0.05wt.%)and aluminium(<0.005wt.%)contents in the iron, with a potential for higher superheating(>1,500°C),contributing to unfavourable conditions for graphite nucleation.Thin wall castings are increasingly produced by these electric melt shops with a risk of greater eutectic undercooling during solidification. The paper focused on two groups of grey cast irons and their specific problems:carbides and graphite morphology control in lower carbon equivalent high strength irons(CE=3.4%-3.8%),and austenite dendrite promotion in eutectic and slightly hypereutectic irons(CE=4.1%-4.5%),in order to increase their strength characteristics. There are 3 stages and 3 steps involving graphite formation, iron chemistry and iron processing that appear to be important. The concept in the present paper sustains a threestage model for nucleating flake graphite[(Mn,X)S type nuclei].There are three important groups of elements(deoxidizer,Mn/S,and inoculant)and three technological stages in electric melting of iron(superheat,pre-conditioning of base iron, final inoculation).Attention is drawn to a control factor(%Mn)x(%S)ensuring it equals to 0.03–0.06,accompanied by 0.005wt.%–0.010wt.%Al and/or Zr content in inoculated irons. It was found that iron powder addition promotes austenite dendrite formation in eutectic and slightly eutectic, acting as reinforcement for the eutectic cells. But,there is an accompanying possible negative influence on the characteristics of the(Mn,X)S type graphite nuclei(change the morphology of nuclei from polygonal compact to irregular polygonal, and therefore promote chill tendency in treated irons).A double addition(iron powder+inoculant)appears to be an effective treatment to benefit both austenite and graphite nucleation, with positive effects on the final structure and chill tendency.
文摘The effects of types and amounts of silane coupling agent on mechanical properties of vuleanized rubber microwave absorbing patch (VRMAP) were studied. On the contrary, the dry process was very simple, and VRMAP possessed fairly high mechanical properties, therefore, it was the perfect modifying process.

文摘A novel wet-chemical method was presented for the preparation of the micro-sized and uniform spherical Ag powders on a mass-production scale. The well-defined particles were synthesized by mixing the iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate solution with silver nitrate solution directly by high-speed stirring at room temperature. It is found that a large number of micro-sized and uniform spherical particles with rough surfaces are obtained. The mass ratio of iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate to silver nitrate greatly affects the shape of particles, and when it is relatively low, spherical particles cannot be obtained. The reaction temperature has a great impact on the particle size.As the reaction temperature increases from 8 to 15°C,the mean diameter of particles decreases from 3.5 to 1.6 μm.The additive n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone improves the surface smoothness and compactness of the particles while the particle size is kept unchanged.Scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffractometry and energy dispersive X-ray analysis were used to characterize the particle products.

文摘The reduction of 1-3 mm fine powder of iron ore by H2 was conducted in a lab-fabricated kg class high temperature fluidized bed. The reaction temperature can be reduced to 700-750℃ from 800-850℃ when H2 is used as reducing gas.
文摘The mixture of 90 wt%W, 7 wt%Ni and 3 wt%Fe elemental powders was milled in a planetary high-energy ball mill. The evolution of the structure during milling and the sintering behavior of the milled powders were tested. The results showed that by mechanical alloying W(Ni, Fe) supersaturated solid solution with nano-meter size formed, which can enhance the sintering process. Fully dense alloy from the milled powders was obtained through solid state sintering. The tensile strength of the obtained alloy is over 900 MPa which is comparable to that of the alloy sintered by traditional liquid-phase sintering from un-milled powders of the same composition.

文摘To recover zinc from electric arc furnace(EAF)dust,a process of primary normal pressure leaching and secondary alkaline pressure leaching is proposed.First, under the alkaline pressure leaching system, the experiment of pure zinc ferrite being reduced by iron powder was carried out.Under the optimal reduction conditions(i.e.,temperature of 260℃,NaOH concentration of 6 mol/L,liquid-to-solid ratio of 50 mL/g,and a 5-fold excess of iron powder),89%of zinc was extracted. The iron in the reduced residue exists as a magnetite phase.Subsequently, the normal pressure leaching experiment was carried out with EAF dust as raw material, and 66%zinc was leached. The main phase of zinc in normal leaching residue was determined to be zinc ferrite. Then, the normal leaching residue was reduced by iron powder under the alkaline pressure leaching system, and 66.5%of zinc was extracted. After the two-stage leaching process, the leaching rate of zinc in EAF dust can achieve 88.7%.The alkaline pressure leaching solution can be returned as the normal pressure leaching solution, and the magnetite in the alkaline pressure leaching residue can be recovered by magnetic separation.
文摘NbC was used as reinforced particles in the fabrication of iron base composite. The shrinkage at this sintering condition was approximately 4.3%.

文摘SiC magnetic abrasive is used to polish surfaces of precise, complex parts which are hard, brittle and highly corrosion-resistant in magnetic abrasive finishing(MAF). The presented method to fabricate magnetic abrasive through gas atomization and rapid solidification presented can significantly improve the finishing performance and service life of magnetic abrasive, and provide a more practical approach for large-scale industrial production of magnetic abrasive.
