The relationship between language and culture is the core issue in intercultural communication.For native language learners,their native language and local culture are in perfect harmony;while for foreign language learners,they often unconsciously separate the two,resulting in the phenomenon of“half-cooked rice”in foreign language education.This phenomenon makes us reflect on the purpose,content,and methods of foreign language education and seek theoretical guidance.Foreign language teaching aims to improve intercultural competencies,so it must face language and culture in intercultural communication.As a branch of cultural linguistics with multidisciplinary origins,intercultural linguistics focuses on the relationship between language and culture in intercultural communication.In the process of exploring how to apply linguistic theories in second language acquisition,it shows that intercultural linguistics not only has important enlightenment and application value,but also needs further studies.

A Study of English Grammar Teaching and Cultural Introduction from the Perspective of Applied Linguistics

Grammar teaching is the main content of university English teaching,and the quality of teaching will affect the effect of university talent cultivation.Based on the perspective of applied linguistics,it is crucial to use cultural introduction teaching for English grammar teaching.This paper will combine the basic concepts of applied linguistics and cultural introduction teaching,analyze the role of using the cultural introduction teaching method to innovate grammar teaching mode under the perspective of applied linguistics,and put forward a scientific English grammar teaching strategy with the goal of improving teaching quality.

Implications of cultural linguistics for Intercultural Communication

Palmer's theory of cultural linguistics suggests innovative solutions to old problems in anthropology and new directions for research of linguistics. Cultural linguistics is getting accepted as a theoretical framework for intercultural communication study. The paper offers an introduction to the emergence of the cognitive linguistics. Then it gives a brief account of the cultural linguistics, which is the synthesis of the three traditions in linguistic anthropology and cognitive linguistics. The last part involves the implications drawn from cultural linguistics for intercultural communication. Intercultural miscommunication may occur when meanings are supported by different cultural schemas.Identifying cultural schemas enables us to get both an inside and outside view of our native culture.

Theoretical Construction of Palmer's Cultural Linguistics

American anthropologist Gary.B.Palmer put forward a comprehensive theory—cultural linguistics in 1996.Centered in image and framed in cultural dimension,Palmer originates a new research method for linguistics by integrating three major branches of linguistic anthropology and cognitive linguistics,hopefully to provide a new perspective to study language and culture,enhance understanding between nations,and promote the process of the harmonious world.

On the theoretical basis of linguistics and modem cultural studies

Language study is closely related to the ecological literature and cultural studies. The predicament of modern ecological literature and cultural theory is that there no linguistic theory to rely on. Biolinguistics emphasize the two-way interaction between language and environment, regard language as the intermediate link between nature and culture. It combines the ＂environment＂ of language with nature and social psychology. Thus this theory studies beyond such one-way determinism of traditional linguistics as ＂the world constructed language＂ or ＂language of the construction of the world,＂ concerning the relationship between language and the world. It also goes beyond the dualism of ＂naturatness＂ of language and ＂agreement＂ of the issue to become the real eco-dialectical linguistic theory with rich ＂argument＂ . This theory can help people better understand the relationship between text and the world, nature and culture, natural ecology and social spiritual ecology. Therefore it is a basic theory of modern literature, cultural studies, as well as one of the most leading and challenging issue for the study of ecological poetic and culture abroad.

English Cultural Introduction Teaching from the Perspective of Applied Linguistics

In the process of learning a language, the language communication from the perspective of applied linguistics cannot exist without certain cultural tendency. Practice proves that an appropriate introduction of the background culture having a certain relationship with language environment can enrich the knowledge structure of students, and effectively remove the obstacles in the process of English language communication, so that the cognitive ability is improved. In this paper, applied linguistics as well as the concept of cultural introduction teaching theory is briefly elaborated, and the necessities of cultural introduction teaching and the signiflcances of English cultural introduction teaching are analyzed, and also some rules necessary to follow in the introduction teaching of English culture are introduced, and then the implementation strategies are discussed, so as to provide a reference for a large number of educational workers.

A Comparison of Languages on the Chinese and English Clothing Tags from the Cross-cultural Perspective

With the rapid growth of China's marketing economy, a lot of China-made clothes sweep into the foreign markets in recent years, so the internationalization, standardization and normalization of the languages of the clothing tags seem more important than they probably are. From the cross-cultural perspective and with the help of stylistic analysis, the author studies the languages of 10 Chinese-version clothing tags and 10 original English-version clothing tags respectively in lexis, syntax and discourse. The English version of Chinese clothing tags inclines to use the imperative sentences with strong tone of command, and their corresponding sentence structures and those of the original English clothing tags are not alike. Comparatively the latter give a more static feeling in a milder tone. In the perspective of lexis and discourse, clothing tags, both home and abroad, use the simple words and add the words with pictures. Tentatively, the author gets a general conclusion of the skills and characteristics of English clothing tags' language. Besides, according to the current problems existing in the Chinese clothing tags' translation,the author gives the relative advice to the Chinese clothing company in order to promote the international commercial communication, besides, the author expects more studies on this field with a new view point.

社会认知语言学视域下语言的社会性与文化身份性

本文主要基于具身认知和社会认知理论,从社会认知语言学视角讨论语言的社会性和文化身份性。首先,认知语言学的“社会转向”将对语言的考察及其与文化的联系置于一个更加宏大的社会场景,在其研究框架中,认知与语言的本质及其功能、语言的社会性等都能根据具身认知理论、语言与文化的相互作用关系等在基于使用的语言基本观找到理论支持;其次,从语言的本质和功能方面看,语言首先满足交际和互动功能,语言习得在交际环境中进行,因此,语言具有社会认知性特征;再次,从具身认知理论看,语言是个体和群体的具身经验,认知具有普遍性,而特定的认知模型具有独特的文化属性,代表群体的语言文化身份。语言认知和语言习得都是在一定社会文化语境中基于使用而实现的,某种语言的表征和认知方式也有其具体特征,在一定程度上反映语言使用者的心理特征,体现语言和语言使用者的文化身份。

文化认知语言学初探

文化认知语言学是探讨语言与文化认知之间相互作用的跨学科领域,也是认知语言学的最新发展。本文尝试构建文化认知语言学的学科体系,分析文化如何影响和塑造人类认知,以及文化认知如何影响语言结构与使用。本文首先论述认知语言学的文化视角,解释文化认知这一核心概念,然后阐释文化认知语言学的理论基础,最后论述文化认知语言学的研究目标和主要研究话题。通过论述与举例说明,本文初步构建了文化认知语言学这一新兴学科领域。

系统功能语言学视角下中国西南地区文化负载词英译策略研究——以翻译《湘漓文化》为例

在习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的指导下,我国越来越注重提高文化软实力。湘漓文化作为中华文化的一部分,其相关资料的外宣翻译质量对我们是否能讲好中国故事有重要影响。湘漓文化史料中的文化负载词众多,如何贴切地将它们翻译出来是译者必须思考的问题。该文从系统功能语言学中的人际元视角出发,结合具体案例讨论文化负载词的翻译策略,灵活运用直译法、意译法和音译加注法,力求寻求最佳的翻译方法。该研究旨在提升湘漓文化相关文本的翻译质量,为文化负载词的翻译提供参考,并通过此次研究,增进世界各国对中国文化的了解,促进中国文化走向世界。

“道”与“在”:关于海德格尔语言本体论的符号学反思

海德格尔的语言本体论从真理存在的方式切入,通过语言表征的“遮蔽”与“去蔽”的关系,力求让真理在语言的表述中“敞开”。然而,他的语言本体论依然沿着探索真理的传统路径,试图解决无法解决的问题,没能让语言脱离表征危机。如果从老庄的道家学说出发,与通常的真理探索之路相反,返回自然,打破固有体系和现存观念的束缚,也许能够更接近包含所谓真理在内的“道”,让语言的本质和真理能够更加自由地“在”。本文从对真理存在的质疑、意义的自反生成和言说的间离作用三个方面,来反思海德格尔的语言本体论,以期把语言存在研究引向深入。

英语的另一半:以“英语文化体系”为中心的英语教育理论与实践

当前我国英语教育体系以“英语语言形式”为中心,较少涉及“英语文化体系”,只教了英语的一半。以这种英语教育体系培养出来的学生能够在各种语言技术性考试中获得高分,不过会因为对英语文化缺乏了解而在和英语本土人士的实际交际中丢分。针对这一问题,我们尝试设计了以“英语文化体系”为中心的英语教育模式,确定了“大量、有效的英语文学原著阅读”的具体路径,以个别教育的方法进行了小规模的实验。经过六年多的实验,我们取得了初步的实验结果。我们发现学生们既能够很好地了解英语文化体系,又能够很好地掌握英语语言形式,还能够和英语本土人士进行得体的交际,在完整意义上基本学好了英语。所有参加实验的同学都被剑桥大学、南加州大学、香港中文大学、中山大学等国内外名校录取。

政治思想史研究的“语言学转向”及其反思

20世纪70年代以来,受人文社会科学“语言学转向”的整体效应影响,政治思想史研究出现了“语言学转向”的变化趋势。这一趋势发生在20世纪下半叶政治思想史研究在政治学、历史学等相关主学科中学术地位不断下降的背景之下,从而也被视为政治思想史研究积极寻求研究范式创新的重要体现。通过对政治思想史研究中的“语言学转向”问题进行总结和反思可以发现,虽然“语言学转向”拓展了政治思想史研究的议题思路,并提供了新的方法资源,但政治思想史领域的“语言学转向”也存在创新有效性有限、学科主体性困境更为突出以及无法解决“理论贫困”等一系列问题。20世纪后半叶以来政治思想史研究的学科危机问题异常复杂,除了知识层面的议题拓展、方法创新等问题外,还与政治思想史的研究定位,甚至与政治学、历史学等政治思想史所根植的相关主学科的研究取向变化等紧密相关,如何让政治思想史研究重获新生还需要更多的思考和努力。

多模态语言景观是重要的公共空间建构元素,不同模态语言景观的形式符号特征相互关联,共同建构景观话语意义。广州恩宁路历史文化街区语言景观具有显著的多语多模态性,它通过模态间与模态内的互动、管理者和创作者与语言景观之间的互动以及体验者与语言景观的协调互动,构建历史文化街区独特的空间意义,呈现出全球化、融合性、多样性和体系化的特点。但对于此地多模态语言景观中的双语和多语建设,应注重细节,提高信息传达的准确性和文化传递的有效性,提升语言景观的经济和文化价值,增强受众对街区的积极体验。

对外翻译中的语言生态——基于《敦煌文化关键词》的翻译

语言生态理论要求译者具有语言意识,关注语言生态因素间的协作,为对外翻译提供了新的理论指导和研究视角。统筹考虑语言生态因素可以优化对外翻译的译文质量,塑造可持续发展的译文提升空间。文章参照语言生态理论,以2019年中宣部地方优秀外宣品一等奖获奖图书《敦煌文化关键词》为样本,从读者受众和译介选材、翻译策略和方法、译者文化情感以及评价原则方面解读分析语言生态因素的统筹考虑对本书的英译产生的影响,展示了对外翻译中的语言生态机制如何在具体的翻译任务中得以体现,为对外翻译的未来发展提供新的研究思路。

苏联爱国诗歌语言图景中的祖国形象定型研究

在1941年苏联伟大卫国战争初期曾涌现出大量爱国主义诗歌作品,其诗歌语言单位反映出俄罗斯民族的身份归属、神圣使命、家国共情、国家意识等个性文化成素,由此形成了20世纪40年代初俄语诗歌语言图景中的祖国形象定型。本文从俄语语言文化学视角运用词源分析法和观念分析法阐释该时期诗歌语言中具有“祖国”义素的观念词和关键词,以揭示俄罗斯人民在特定历史时期的国家意识及其形象定型。

生态翻译学视域下民俗文化外宣翻译研究——以《辽东满族民俗》为例

随着经济全球化和文化多元化的不断深入,民俗文化作为我们国家和民族独有的文化形式,其国际传播越来越受到重视。民俗文化的外宣翻译不仅是文化交流的桥梁,也是增强国家软实力的重要手段。生态翻译学理论,作为翻译学领域的重要理论之一,强调“翻译即生态平衡”和“翻译即文本移植”。基于此背景,该文以生态翻译学理论为理论基础,以《辽东满族民俗》为例,研究民俗文化的外宣翻译,从语言维、文化维、交际维三个维度进行探讨。以期通过对现有文献的综合分析和具体案例的实证研究,探讨民俗文化外宣的翻译策略,提升民俗文化的国际传播效果。

文化语言视域下中日茶品命名对比研究

中日语言中的茶类词汇是中日两国茶文化发展与交流的产物,其中茶名是传达成茶相关信息的重要途径,也是研究各国茶文化的重要窗口。本文基于课题组前期建设的“中日韩三国茶类词汇语料库”,从两国茶名词汇存有量、类属要素进行计量与整理,考察中日两种语言在茶类命名上呈现的倾向与理据,进而从文化语言学与命名学视域下探寻中日“茶名”所蕴含的文化元素及其成因。

生成式人工智能及其教育应用的基本争议和对策

本文是对联合国教科文组织《生成式人工智能教育与研究应用指南》的系列解读第二篇,着重讨论生成式人工智能及其教育应用引发的基本争议。“基于工作过程”技术缺陷,生成式人工智能已引发加速数据贫穷、技术不透明导致服务辖区内治理缺失、未经许可搜集训练用数据、模型架构不可解释、基础模型不理解真实世界、生成的信息污染互联网、强势价值观投射、助长违法性深伪等多重争议。生成式人工智能会对平等、包容、学习主体能动性、价值观及语言文化多样性、知识建构的多元性等教育核心价值产生直接而深远的冲击,而这些核心价值应被秉承为考证生成式人工智能教育适用性的逻辑基点。决策者和实践者应遵循“优先管制、确保包容、引导应用”的逻辑路径,强化全系统监管法规和执法能力,确保教育生成式人工智能生态系统安全可信、自主可控、本地适用,进而通过能力建设和实践指导等措施引导合理的教育应用实践。
