Based on the structural mode of cultural ecosystem,a structural mode of architectural culture was established in this study by replacing human society,exterior environment and culture in the cultural ecosystem with hu...Based on the structural mode of cultural ecosystem,a structural mode of architectural culture was established in this study by replacing human society,exterior environment and culture in the cultural ecosystem with human activities,architectural environment and architectural culture.Within this mode,architectural engineering technology was in the uttermost layer of the architectural cultural structure,design techniques and written works in the middle layer,and values in the innermost layer.It was applied to analyze the evolution of classical Chinese gardens along the line of dynastic changes,from the perspectives of social consciousness,cultural psychology and aesthetic habit,it was pointed out that classical Chinese gardens have evolved from animal park to landscape garden,from urban residential garden to private garden in the southern regions of the Yangtze River,which also indicated a transition from focusing on exterior forms to stressing practical functions,and such a transition was realized on the basis of social consciousness and values of the time with the help of proper design techniques.展开更多

The article delves into the concept of“Chineseness”in contemporary Chinese architecture,a strategic tool for creating distinctive styles rooted in Chinese identity.It serves not only to distinguish projects from mar...The article delves into the concept of“Chineseness”in contemporary Chinese architecture,a strategic tool for creating distinctive styles rooted in Chinese identity.It serves not only to distinguish projects from market-driven trends but also to establish a pivotal position in the global architectural landscape.“Chineseness”among 24 identified keywords represents a practical strategy embraced by many young architects with international exposure.The traditional Chinese dwelling,a symbol of familial and cultural essence,particularly in the context of home culture,is a primary inspiration for contemporary architects.The research adopts a case study approach,focusing on Tulou-related cases from the last fifteen years,encompassing various building types.The Tulou,a mountain-dwelling with rich cultural connotations,is introduced,reflecting ancient Chinese philosophies in its architectural principles.The case studies,including URBANUS’s“Tulou Collective Housing 2008”and Chengdu’s“Tulou Theater,”demonstrate how Tulou prototypes can be creatively adapted.These designs not only replicate forms but also capture the communal spirit inherent in traditional dwellings.“Stepped Courtyards”by OPEN Architecture reinterprets Tulou typology for a staff dormitory,emphasizing community awareness.In conclusion,the concept of“Chineseness”emerges as a prominent topic,showcasing the dynamic and adaptable nature of traditional Chinese culture and modern architectural expressions.The cases illustrate the evolving intersection between traditional Chinese culture and modern architecture,offering insights into the future trajectory of Chinese architectural culture.The interrelated keywords highlight the nuanced and evolving nature of“Chineseness”in architectural practices.展开更多
Social transformations have been changed in thinking and observable current religious institutions in contemporary architectural manifestations. Likewise, observed these changes in religious buildings of the past, they were current and contemporary in its own time, which has allowed them to remain in force in its architectural spatiality and its urban relationships, serving as the historical bridge 1;hat allows analyzing the contemporary perspective in Mexico and particularly in Yucatan. The goal of this paper is to carry out a contemporary look to the interior and exterior of the temples in Yucatan colonial architecture to establish the process of change and permanence of spatiality and volumes that have allowed liturgy procedures as well as the way of approach to the sacredness of the Catholic communities from the colonial period to the present day. On the other hand, interest to establish, in particular, as the colonials religious buildings have been maintained in force and have appreciated for religious service to continue and in some cases, as they have given other kinds of services while maintaining its primordial spatiality.展开更多
