The SO wave is incident at the frequency above the A1 mode cut-off frequency, in which the popular approximate plate theories are inapplicable. Due to the non-symmetric blind hole defect, the scattered fields will contain higher order converted modes in addition to the fundamental SO and AO modes. The far-field scattering amplitudes of various propagating Lamb modes for different hole sizes are inspected. The results are compared with those of lower frequencies and some different phenomena are found. Two-dimensional Fourier transform (2DFT) results of transient scattered Lamb and SH wave signals agree well with the analytical dispersion curves, which check the validity of the solutions from another point of view.展开更多

The shock wave speed relevant to these two models is derived. Consider the case of a bar made of one of such material with initial length L 0 and initial velocity v i impinging onto a rigid target. The variations of the stress, strain, particle velocity, specific internal energy across the shock wave and the cease distance of shock wave are all determined analytically. In particular the "energy conservation condition" and the "kinematic existence condition" as proposed by Tan et al. (2005) is re-examined, showing that the "energy conservation condition" and the consequent "critical velocity", i.e. the shock can only be generated and sustained in R-PP-L bars when the impact velocity is above this critical velocity, is incorrect. Instead, with elastic deformation, strain-hardening and strain-rate sensitivity of the cellular materials being considered, it is appropriate to redefine a first and a second critical impact velocity for the existence and propagation of shock waves in cellular solids. Starting from the basic relations for shock wave propagating in D-R-LHP-L cellular materials, a new method for inversely determining the dynamic stress-strain curve for cellular materials is proposed. By using e.g. a combination of Taylor bar and Hopkinson pressure bar impact experimental technique, the dynamic stress-strain curve of aluminum foam could bedetermined. Finally, it is demonstrated that this new formulation of shock theory in this one-dimensional stress state can be generalized to shocks in a one-dimensional strain state, i.e. for the case of plate impact on cellular materials, by simply making proper replacements of the elastic and plastic constants.展开更多

Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.展开更多

To construct the proposed non-classical plate model, the nonlocal strain gradient continuum elasticity is adopted on the basis of a hybrid quasithree-dimensional(3D) plate theory under through-thickness deformation conditions by only four variables. By taking a refined power-law function into account in conjunction with the Touloukian scheme, the temperature-porosity-dependent material properties are extracted. With the aid of the assembled isogeometric-based finite element formulations, nonlocal strain gradient thermal postbuckling curves are acquired for various boundary conditions as well as geometrical and material parameters. It is portrayed that for both size dependency types, by going deeper in the thermal postbuckling domain, gaps among equilibrium curves associated with various small scale parameter values get lower, which indicates that the pronounce of size effects reduces by going deeper in the thermal postbuckling regime. Moreover, we observe that the central cutout effect on the temperature rise associated with the thermal postbuckling behavior in the presence of the effect of strain gradient size and absence of nonlocality is stronger compared with the case including nonlocality in absence of the strain gradient small scale effect.展开更多

The new algorithm has two steps. First, three basic probability assignments dependent on different attribute parameters with Demspter fusion rule are processed. Using the fusion results, one can calculate the evidence interval of the proposition that “the return is from target”. Then based on the magnitude of the center of the evidence interval, one can reject some false alarms, so as to cut down the number of clutters accepted by the filter gate. The Dbrahe partition function reduces to an expectation value of some inserted operators of a q-deformed Yang Mills theory living on a chain of P^1 's in the base p2 of X. At large N this partition function can be written as a sum over squares of chiral blocks, which are related to the open topological string amplitudes in the local p2 geometry with branes at both the outer and inner edges of the toric diagram. Experiments were performed for various airflow rates, particle types/diameters, and particle size distributions. Pres- sure distributions along the wall of the riser were measured, Additional measurements from a smaller pseudo-2D riser (Kallio et al., 2009; Shah et al., 2012) were used to analyze horizontal solids volume fraction profiles. The experimental data were compared with simulation results carried out using an Euler-Euler approach, A mesh sensitivity study was conducted for numerical simulations and effects associated with simplifying real 3D geometry to a 2D model were examined. In addition, the effect of using an algebraic equation to represent the granular temperature versus a full partial differential equation also was examined for numerical simulations. Results showed small but significant near-wall sensitivity of the flow variables to mesh size. Substantial differences in mean pressure, solids distribution, and solid velocities were obtained, when 2D and 3D simulation results were compared. Finally, applying the simplified granular temperature equation for turbulent fluidization and for dilute-phase transport can lead to incorrect predictions in models,展开更多

文摘The propagation of shock waves in a cellular bar is systematically studied in the framework of continuum solids by adopting two idealized material models, viz. the dynamic rigid, perfectly plastic, locking (D-R-PP-L) model and the dynamic rigid, linear hardening plastic, locking (D-R-LHP-L) model, both considering the effects of strain-rate on the material properties. Finally, it is demonstrated that this new formulation of shock theory in this one-dimensional stress state can be generalized to shocks in a one-dimensional strain state, i.e. for the case of plate impact on cellular materials, by simply making proper replacements of the elastic and plastic constants.

文摘Tension Leg Platform(TLP)in deepwater oil and gas field development usually consists of a hull, tendons, and top tension risers(TTRs).To maintain its top tension, each TTR is connected with a tensioner system to the hull.Owing to the complicated configuration of the tensioners, the hull and TTRs form a strong coupled system.Traditionally, some simplified tensioner models are applied to analyze the TLP structures. There is a large discrepancy between their analysis results and the actual mechanism behaviors of a tensioner. It is very necessary to develop a more detailed tensioner model to consider the coupling effects between TLP and TTRs.In the present study,a fully coupled TLP hull-TTR system for hydrodynamic numerical simulation is established.A specific hydraulic pneumatic tensioner is modeled by considering 4 cylinders. The production TTR model is stacked up by specific riser joints. The simulation is also extended to analyze an array of TTRs.Different regular and irregular waves are considered. The behaviors of different cylinders are presented. The results show that it is important to consider the specific configurations of the tensioner and TTRs,which may lead to obviously different response behaviors, compared with those from a simplified model.
文摘The N-representability conditions on the reduced second-order reduced density matrix (2-RDM), impose restrictions not only in the context of reduced density matrix theory (RDMT), but also on functionals advanced in one-matrix theory such as natural orbital functional theory (NOFT), and on functionals depending on the one-electron density such as those of density functional theory (DFT). We review some aspects of the applications of these N-representability conditions in these theories and present some conclusions.

文摘A method based on the diffraction theory for estimating the three-dimensional (3D) focusing performance of the compound refractive X-ray lenses is presented in this paper. As a special application, the 3D X-ray intensity distribution near the focus is derived for a plano-concave compound refractive X-ray lens. Moreover, the computer codes are developed and some results of 3D focusing performance for a compound refractive X-ray lens with Si material are shown and discussed.
文摘We study four-dimensional quiver gauge models from F-theory compactified on fourfolds with hyper-K¨ahler structure.Using intersecting complex toric surfaces,we derive a class of N =1 quivers with charged fundamental matter placed on external nodes. The emphasis is on how local Calabi–Yau equations solve the corresponding physical constraints including the anomaly cancelation condition.Concretely,a linear chain of SU(N) groups with flavor symmetries has been constructed using polyvalent toric geometry.
文摘This article aims to propose a finite element formulation based on Quasi-3D theory for the static bending analysis of functionally graded porous(FGP)sandwich plates. The FGP sandwich plates consist of three layers including the bottom skin of homogeneous metal, the top skin of fully ceramic and the FGP core layer with uneven porosity distribution.A quadrilateral(Q4)element with nine degrees of freedom(DOFs)per node is derived and employed in analyzing the static bending response of the plate under uniform and/or sinusoidally distributed loads. The accuracy of the present finite element formulation is verified by comparing the obtained numerical results with the published results in the literature. Then, some numerical examples are performed to examine the effects of the parameters including power-law index k and porosity coefficient on the static bending response of rectangular FGP sandwich plates. In addition,a problem with a complicated L-shape model is conducted to illustrate the superiority of the proposed finite element method.

文摘In the research of uncertain information processing,Dempster-Shafer Theory(DST)provides a framework for dealing with uncertain information, where evidence is defined on a Frame of Discernment(FOD)consisting of mutually exclusive elements. However, the requirement of exclusiveness on FOD sometimes is not satisfied,as shown in Dezert-Smarandache Theory(DSm T),a derivative of DST.In DSm T,the non-exclusiveness is expressed by propositions’intersection and the fusion of evidence is realized through a Proportional Conflict Redistribution(PCR)rule. In order to handle non-exclusive FODs,a new framework called D Number Theory(DNT)has been proposed recently, which quantifies the non-exclusive degree between propositions different from DSm T.In previous studies,an Exclusive Conflict Redistribution(ECR)rule has been designed in DNT to implement the fusion of evidence defined on a non-exclusive FOD,but there are some deficiencies in the ECR rule.In this paper,a new rule called ECR-PCR rule is proposed by combining the ECR and PCR rules to better implement the fusion of evidence defined on a nonexclusive FOD.Within the proposed rule, the definition of conflict utilizes the idea of ECR’s exclusive conflict, and the disposal of conflict is following the idea of PCR’s proportional redistribution.Properties of the ECR-PCR rule are presented. The effectiveness of the proposed new rule is verified through numerical examples and applications,in comparison with other fusion methods.

文摘The coupled dynamic responses of two pontoons while connecting with each other in irregular waves are calculated by means of 3D potential flow theory. The computation is used to find the optimal status for connecting at certain sea state. On the basis of the relative motion of two pontoons in irregular waves, visual FORTRAN programming language,as well as open graphics library (OpenGL),is used to develop a set of virtual reality system, which is fully interactive and with realistic effect. The transfinite interpolation scheme is applied for the mesh generating of the wave surface, and the wave motion is simulated by surface elevation, which is calculated by 3D potential flow theory.
文摘We present experimental investigations and numerical simulations of a pseudo-2D riser. Finally, applying the simplified granular temperature equation for turbulent fluidization and for dilute-phase transport can lead to incorrect predictions in models,
