Our research work has employed virtual manufacturing environments to represent supply chain nodes to simulate processes and activities in supply chain management. This will enable those who are involved in these processes and activities to gain an intuitive understanding of them, so as to design robust supply chains and make correct decisions at the right time. A framework system and its hierarchical structure for visualising and simulating supply chains in virtual environments are reported and detailed in this paper.展开更多

However, building E-supply chain depends on business process improvemen t and re-engineering, which becomes one of the important aspects in supply chai n management. However, the supply chain process re-engineering and improvement is constrained because of lack of integrating operation framework and standards based on information management. We find that the idea of CALS origins from DoD of USA can solve the problems very well. CALS is the abbreviation of "continues acquisition and life- cycle support". It is an information strategy adopted by many developed counties. The final objective of the CALS is that government a nd industry can generate, exchange, manage and use all the digital information t hroughout the lifecycle of a product in virtue of adopting the international and national standards, improving existing business process and introducing advance d technology. The Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) created by CALS provides a brand new operation mode for consumer, contractor and supplier in supply chain . Besides, a series mutual standard is involved in CALS system. These standards and the standardization technology would be applied widely in the supply chain. This study mainly focuses on supply chain process in CALS environment, and puts forward a framework model of supply chain process. Then the study analyzes the c haracteristics of the model, which includes the application of standards and inf ormation technology, and finally discusses on methods to achieve the supply chai n process in CALS environment.展开更多

This model is proposed on the basis of uncertain information processing method of D-S theory and its data combination rules, combined with the “discount rate” correction model, and it includes a risk assessment index system of agricultural products supply-chain finance, fully considering the five aspects of production, processing, marketing, cooperation of supply chain and collateral. At last, a taro supply chain is taken for example. And the risk assessment of its supply-chain finance based on this model has been discussed in detail. And the result has proved that the model and its algorithm are practical and feasible.展开更多
A digital arc welding power supply was designed with the advanced reduced instruction set computer machine (ARM) and embedded real-time multi-task operating system micro C/OS- Ⅱ. The ARM, with its powerful calculat...A digital arc welding power supply was designed with the advanced reduced instruction set computer machine (ARM) and embedded real-time multi-task operating system micro C/OS- Ⅱ. The ARM, with its powerful calculating speed and complete peripheral equipments, is very suitable to work as the controller of the digital power supply. The micro C/OS- Ⅱ transplanted in ARM, helps to improve the respondent speed against various welding signals, as well as the reliability of the controlling software. The welding process consists of nine tasks. The tasks of great significance on reliability of the welder, for example, the A/D conversion of current and voltage, enjoy top priority. To avoid simultaneous-sharing on A/D converter and LCD module, two semaphores are introduced in to ensure the smooth performance of the welding power supply. Proven by experiments ,the ARM and the micro C/OS- Ⅱ can greatly improve both the respondent speed and the reliability of the digital welder.展开更多
Several media report highlight on that the pharmaceutical companies require ultra-low temperatures -80<span style="white-space:nowrap;">°</span>C to transport and store its COVID-19 vaccines...Several media report highlight on that the pharmaceutical companies require ultra-low temperatures -80<span style="white-space:nowrap;">°</span>C to transport and store its COVID-19 vaccines. This research presents the thermodynamic analysis on cascade refrigeration system (CRS) with several refrigerant pairs which are R32/R170, R123/R170, R134a/R170, R404A/R170, R407c/R170, R410/R170, and the hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerant pair Propane/Ethane, namely R290/R170. Besides, the results of R22/R170 pair, which is not recommended to be used due to phase out of R22 as per Montréal Protocol, are included as base case to compare the novel hydrocarbon pairs in CRS and the old trend of refrigerant pairs. Thermodynamic properties of all these pairs were investigated and compared under different intermediate temperature used in CRS heat exchanger, which thermally connected both the Low and High temperature cycles (LTC) and (HTC). By applying the first law of thermodynamics, the coefficients of performance (COPs) and the specific power consumptions (SPC) in kW/TR are presented and compared. In addition, by applying the second law of thermodynamics the exergetic efficiencies were estimated. The results reveal the promising opportunity of using the HC pair (R290/R170). The minimum SPC in kW/TR is recorded for the pair R123/R170. One the other hand, the highest exegetic efficiency values are observed to be 40%, 38%, and 35% for the pairs R123/R170, R290/R170, and R134/R170, respectively. This research concludes that the HC pair (R290/R170) is highly recommended for CRS applications either to transport the COVID-19 or store it in cold storage rooms in hospitals and clinics. All precautionary measures should be carefully applied in design and operation of HC pair (R290/R170) due to its flammability hazard.展开更多
The current basic energy plan of Japan was authorized in the Cabinet in June 2010, in which ambitious energy and environmental targets and policies giving nuclear power a pivotal role toward 2030 were described. At pr...The current basic energy plan of Japan was authorized in the Cabinet in June 2010, in which ambitious energy and environmental targets and policies giving nuclear power a pivotal role toward 2030 were described. At present, the Japanese government has been forced to review the basic energy plan in the wake of the great east Japan earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 followed by the severe accident at the nuclear power plants in Fukushima. Before the disaster, the IAE (institute of applied energy) had realized that it was not clear how CO2-free hydrogen would contribute to solving various energy and environmental issues, or that prospects were not clear for large demand of CQ-free hydrogen other than FCVs (fuel cell vehicles). In this connection, the authors organized a voluntary "Concept Study Group (in short)" in March 2011 and held four meetings until the end of March 2012. Through the quantitative studies using IAE's simulation model (GRAPE), the common recognition was built in the concept study group that hydrogen could contribute to energy security and increase in zero-emissions electric power ratio in Japan. It was also estimated that global CO2-free hydrogen supply chains could be realized by degrees after 2020. Based on these results, the authors made a proposal that hydrogen should be added in the primary energy constitution for new basic energy plan to the Japanese government because imported hydrogen could be considered as a pseudo-primary energy like LNG (liquefied natural gas). Now, the succeeding "Action Plan Study Group (in short)" has been held focusing on hydrogen demand in various applications, future pictures of CO2-free hydrogen chains and road maps.
