Methods A semi-quantitative 72-food item FFQ was developed for children aged 12-17 years. The reliability and validity of this FFQ were evaluated against 24-h dietary recalls(24 h DRs) to measure the consumption of foods and nutrients. We administered two FFQs and three DRs to children(N = 160) over a period of 1 month to evaluate the reliability and validity. Reliability was examined by quartile agreement and intraclass correlation coefficients(ICCs), and validity was examined by quartile agreement, Bland-Altman plots and correlation with DRs. Results For reliability, the ICCs between the two FFQs ranged from 0.21 to 0.76 for foods and nutrients, and the quartile agreement ranged from 70.0% to 95.0% in the same or adjacent quartiles. Spearman’s correlation coefficients of foods and nutrients between the second FFQ and the 24 h DRs ranged from-0.04 to 0.59. The Bland-Altman plots demonstrated good agreement across the range of intakes among nutrients. The quartile agreement ranged from 50.0% to 100.0%, with infrequent misclassification. Conclusion The FFQ assessment of dietary intakes demonstrated acceptable relative validity and high reproducibility for Chinese children aged 12-17 years.展开更多

Three evaluation scales are available, including the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS). Yet none of these has been proven to be of use in the evaluation of psychological quality after post-stroke fatigue. OBJECTIVE: To introduce FIS into China, and to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Chinese Version in patients with cerebral infarction. DESIGN: Scale evaluation. SETTING: Department of Rehabilitation, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 330 patients with cerebral infarction were selected from the Department of Neurology, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University from June 2005 to December 2006. All patients met diagnostic standards from the Fourth National Cerebrovascular Disease Academic Meeting of China Medical Association and were diagnosed with CT or MRI examination. Patients who were not willing to accept scale evaluation were excluded. METHODS: The English version of FIS was translated into Chinese and subsequently translated back to English again. FIS was given to the discharged patients, and they returned them upon completion. In-patients completed and immediately returned the FIS. Validity and reliability of the retrieved scales were ascertained with descriptive and inference analysis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Total scores and subscale scores of FIS. RESULTS: Out of 330 questionnaires, 214 valid questionnaires were deemed valid in total. Six components were extracted in factor analysis, and the total cumulative contribution was 73.919%, which suggested the questionnaire was valid. After correlation analysis, 6 components were divided into 3 subscales, including cognitive, physical, and social, which was the same as the English version. The Cronbach α value for the three subscales was 0.937 7, 0.918 8, and 0.940 6, respectively (〉 0.7). CONCLUSION: The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of FIS met with satisfaction and appeared to be adaptable to cerebral infarction patients in China.展开更多

However, there is currently no comprehensive measure of its severity. In this study, we designed the Ocular Motor Nerve Palsy Scale and investigated its validity and reliability. Six experts were invited to grade and evaluate the scale. The study recruited 106 patients with a definite diagnosis of unilateral isolated ocular motor nerve palsy. Three physicians evaluated the patients using the scale. One of the three physicians evaluated the patients again after 24 hours. The content validity index(CVI) and factor analysis were used to analyze the scale's construct validity. The intraclass correlation coefficient and Cronbach's alpha were used to evaluate the inter-rater and test-retest reliability and the internal consistency. The CVI results(I-CVI = 1.0, S-CVI = 0.9, Pc = 0.016, K* = 1) indicated good content validity. Factor analysis extracted two common factors that accounted for 85.2% of the variance. Furthermore, the load value of each component was above 0.8, indicating good construct validity. The Ocular Motor Nerve Palsy Scale was found to be highly reliable, with an inter-rater reliability intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.965(P 0.01), a test-retest reliability intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.976(P 0.01), and Cronbach's alpha values of 0.63–0.70. In conclusion, the Ocular Motor Nerve Palsy Scale with good validity and reliability can be used to quantify the severity of ocular motor nerve palsy. This study was registered at Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration number: Chi CTR-OOC-17010702).展开更多

Body Level/Scoliosis meter for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis postural assessment in three anatomical planes.METHODS This is an observational reliability and concurrent validity study of adolescent referrals to the Orthopaedic department for scoliosis screening at KarolinskaUniversity Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden between MarchMay 2012. A total of 31 adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis(13.6 ± 0.6 years old) of mild-moderate curvatures(25°± 12°) were consecutively recruited. Measurement of cervical, thoracic and lumbar curvatures, pelvic and shoulder tilt, and axial thoracic rotation(ATR) were performed by two trained physiotherapists in one day. The intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) was used to determine the inter-examiner reliability(ICC2,1) and the intra-rater reliability(ICC3,3) of the Baseline~? Body Level/Scoliosis meter. Spearman's correlation analyses were used to estimate concurrent validity between the Baseline~? Body Level/Scoliosis meter and Gold Standard Cobb angles from radiographs and the Orthopaedic Systems Inc. Scoliometer.RESULTS There was excellent reliability between examiners for thoracic kyphosis(ICC2,1 = 0.94), ATR(ICC2,1 = 0.92) and lumbar lordosis(ICC2,1 = 0.79). There was adequate reliability between examiners for cervical lordosis(ICC2,1 = 0.51), however poor reliability for pelvic and shoulder tilt. Both devices were reproducible in the measurement of ATR when repeated by one examiner(ICC3,3 0.98-1.00). The device had a good correlation with the Scoliometer(rho = 0.78). When compared with Cobb angle from radiographs, there was a moderate correlation for ATR(rho = 0.627).CONCLUSION The Baseline~? Body Level/Scoliosis meter provides reliable transverse and sagittal cervical, thoracic and lumbar measurements and valid transverse plan measurements of mild-moderate scoliosis deformity.展开更多

文摘Objective and accurate assessment of the degree of ocular motor nerve palsy is helpful not only in the evaluation of prognosis, but also for the screening of treatment methods. This study was registered at Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration number: Chi CTR-OOC-17010702).

文摘AIM To investigate the reliability and concurrent validity of the Baseline~? Body Level/Scoliosis meter provides reliable transverse and sagittal cervical, thoracic and lumbar measurements and valid transverse plan measurements of mild-moderate scoliosis deformity.
