BPDR was varied from 1 to 10. The results revealed that the size and shape of the powder particles do not give a significant change in simulation results when BPDR attains maximum value of 10. The increasing of BPDR leads to the increase of simulation time and size. Hence, the effect of change of the powder particle shape on the calculated data size is not significant. The results also revealed that the increasing rotation speed increases impact energy between powder particles.展开更多

The increasing availability of high-resolution Digital Elevation Model(DEM) and remote sensing imagery, combined with developed object-based methods enables automatic gully feature mapping. But still few studies have specifically focused on gully feature mapping on different scales. In this study, an object-based approach to two-level gully feature mapping, including gully-affected areas and bank gullies, was developed and tested on 1-m DEM and Worldview-3 imagery of a catchment in the Chinese Loess Plateau. The methodology includes a sequence of data preparation, image segmentation, metric calculation, and random forest based classification. The results of the two-level mapping were based on a random forest model after investigating the effects of feature selection and class-imbalance problem. Results show that the segmentation strategy adopted in this paper which considers the topographic information and optimal parameter combination can improve the segmentation results. The distribution of the gully-affected area is closely related to topographic information, however, the spectral features are more dominant for bank gully mapping. The highest overall accuracy of the gully-affected area mapping was 93.06% with four topographic features. The highest overall accuracy of bank gully mapping is 78.5% when all features are adopted. The proposed approach is a creditable option for hierarchical mapping of gully feature information, which is suitable for the application in hily Loess Plateau region.展开更多

Planation surface is the consequence of the denudation and planation processes under a tectonic stable condition. The quantitative expression of the characteristics of planation surface plays a key role in reconstructing and describing the evolutionary process of landforms. In this study, Landform Planation Index(LPI), a new terrain derivative, was proposed to quantify the characteristics of planation surface. The LPIs were calculated based on the summit surfaces formed according to the clustering results of peaks. Ten typical areas in the Ordos Platform located in the central part of the Loess Plateau of China are chosen as the test areas for investigating their planation characteristics with the LPI. The experimental results indicate that the LPI can be effectively used to quantify the characteristics of planation surfaces. In addition, the LPI can be further used to depict the patterns of spatial differentiation in the Ordos Platform. Although the present Ordos Platform area is full of the high-density gullies, its planation characteristics is found to be well preserved. Furthermore, the characteristics of the planation surfaces can also reflect the original morphology of the Ordos Platform before the loess dusts deposition process evolved in this area. The statistical results of the LPI show that there is a gradually increasing tendency along with the increasing of slope gradient of summit surface. It indicates that the characteristics of planation surfaces vary among test areas with different landforms. These findings help to deepen the understanding of planation characteristics of the loess landform and its underlying paleotopography. Results of this study can be also served as an important theoretical reference value for revealing the evolutionary process of loess landform.展开更多

The changing laws of macroscopic mechanical properties of typical rocks were summarized based on the existing research achievements. Parametric simulations were then conducted to analyze the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters, and to derive the changing laws of microscopic parameters for the DEM model. Equipped with the microscopic weathering laws, a series of DEM simulations of basic laboratory tests on weathered rock samples was performed in comparison with analytical solutions. The results reveal that the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters of rocks against the weathering period can be successfully attained by parametric simulations. In addition, weathering has a significant impact on both stressestrain relationship and failure pattern of rocks.展开更多

文摘LuTan-1(LT-1)is a constellation with two full-polarization L-band radar satellites designed by China, and the first satellite was scheduled to be launched in December 2021 and the second one in January 2022.The LT-1 will be operated for deformation monitoring in repeat-pass mode, and for DEM generation in bistatic mode, improving self-sufficiency of SAR data for the field of geology, earthquake, disaster reduction, geomatics, forestry and so on.In this paper,we focused on designing an algorithm for interferometric DEM generation using LT-1 bistatic satellites. The basic principle, main error sources and errors control of the DEM generation algorithm of LT-1 were systematically analyzed. The experiment results demonstrated that:①The implemented algorithm had rigorous resolution with a theoretic accuracy better than 0.03 m for DEM generation.②The errors in satellite velocity and Doppler centroid had no obvious effect on DEM accuracy and they could be neglected. While the errors in position, baseline, slant range and interferometric phase had a significant effect on DEM accuracy. And the DEM error caused by baseline error was dominated, followed by the slant range error, interferometric phase error and satellite position error.③To obtain an expected DEM accuracy of 2 m,the baseline error must be strictly controlled and its accuracy shall be 1.0 mm or better for Cross-Track and Normal-Direction component, respectively. And the slant range error and interferometric phase error shall be reasonably controlled. The research results were of great significance for accurately grasping the accuracy of LT-1 data products and their errors control, and could provide a scientific auxiliary basis for LT-1 in promoting global SAR technology progress and the generation of high-precision basic geographic data.

文摘The checking survey in Open mine is one of the most frequent and important work.It plays the role of forming a connecting link between open mine planning and pro- duction.Traditional checking method has such disadvantages as long time consumption, heavy workload, complicated calculating process, and lower automation.Used GPS and GIS technologies to systematically study the core issues of checking survey in open mine. A detail GPS data acquisition coding scheme was presented.Based on the scheme an algorithm used for computer semiautomatic cartography was made.Three methods used for eliminating gross errors from raw data which were needed for creating DEM was dis- cussed. Two algorithms were researched and realized which can be used to create open mine fine DEM model with constrained conditions and to dynamically update the model. The precision analysis and evaluation of the created model were carried out.
文摘In this study, a new method for quantitative and efficient measurement for the ground surface movement was developed. The feature of this technique is to identify geomorphic characteristics by image matching analysis, using the intelligent images made from high resolution DEM(Digital Elevation Model). This method is useful to extract the small ground displacement where the surface shape was not intensely deformed.

文摘Planation surface, a surface that is almost flat, is a kind of low-relief landforms. Results of this study can be also served as an important theoretical reference value for revealing the evolutionary process of loess landform.

文摘The distinct element method(DEM) incorporated with a novel bond contact model was applied in this paper to shed light on the microscopic physical origin of macroscopic behaviors of weathered rock, and to achieve the changing laws of microscopic parameters from observed decaying properties of rocks during weathering. In addition, weathering has a significant impact on both stressestrain relationship and failure pattern of rocks.

文摘The value of the high-resolution data lies in the high-precision information discovery. The fine-detailed landform element extraction is thus the basis of high-fidelity application of the high-resolution digital elevation models(DEMs).However, the results of landform element extraction generated by classical methods might be ungrounded on high-resolution DEMs.This paper presents our research on using the aspect to reinforce the applicability and robustness of the classical approaches in landform element extraction.First, according to the research of pattern recognition,we assume that aspect-enhanced landform representation is robust to rotation, scaling and affine variance. To testify the role of aspect,we respectively integrated the aspect into three classical approaches:mean curvaturebased fuzzy classification,elevation-based feature descriptor, and object-based segmentation. In the experiment, based on four types of high-resolution DEMs(1 m,2 m,4 m and 8 m),we compare each classical approaches and their corresponding aspect-enhanced approaches based on extracting the rims of two craters having different landforms, and the ridgelines and valleylines of a region covered by few vegetables and man-made buildings. In comparison to the results generated by curvature-based fuzzy classification, the aspect enhanced curvature-based fuzzy classification can effectively filter a number of noises outperforms the curvature-based one.Otherwise, the aspect-enhanced feature descriptor can detect more landform elements than the elevation-based feature descriptor. Moreover, the aspect-based segmentation can detect the main structure of landform, while the boundaries segmented by classical approaches are messing and meaningless. The systematic experiments on meter-level resolution DEMs proved that the aspect in topography could effectively to improve the classical method-system,including fuzzy-based classification, feature descriptors-based detection and object-based segmentation. The value of aspect is significantly great to be worthy of attentions in landform representation.

文摘In this paper, the northern mountainous area of Fuzhou City which is an ungauged basin has been taken for example to discuss the method of design flood calculation by means of combining the DEM(digital elevation model) and the Xin'anjiang Model(three components). The problem of estimating the parameters of the runoff model has been solved by using the parameters of the reference station. In the conflux calculation, the isochrones are obtained by DEM which helps to avoid the cumbersome work of drawing them on the map. With the establishment of the digital elevation model throughout the country,it is practically significant to use it in the hydrological estimation.

文摘The basal channel is a detailed morphological feature of the ice shelf caused by uneven basal melting. This kind of specifically morphology is widely distributed in polar ice shelves. It is an important research object of sea-ice interaction and plays a vital role in studying the relationship between the ice sheet/ice shelf and global warming. In this paper,high-resolution remote sensing image and ice penetration data were combined to extract the basal channel of the Pine Island Ice Shelf. The depth variation of Pine Island Ice Shelf in the recent 20 years was analyzed and discussed by using ICESat-1,ICESat-2,and IceBridge data.Combined with relevant marine meteorological elements(sea surface temperature, surface melting days, circumpolar deep water and wind)to analyze the basal channel changes, the redistribution of ocean heat is considered to be the most important factor affecting the evolution and development of the basal channel.

文摘Grain crushing is commonly encountered in deep foundation engineering, high rockfill dam engineering, railway engineering, mining engineering, coastal engineering, petroleum engineering, and other geoscience application.Grain crushing is affected by fundamental soil characteristics, such as their mineral strength, grain size and distribution, grain shape, density and specimen size, and also by external factors including stress magnitude and path, loading rate and duration, degree of saturation, temperature and geochemical environment.Crushable material becomes a series of different materials with the change in its grading during grain crushing, resulting in a decrease in strength and dilatancy and an increase in compressibility.Effects of grain crushing on strength, dilatancy, deformation and failure mechanisms have been extensively investigated through laboratory testing, discrete element method(DEM)modelling,Weibull statistics, and constitutive modelling within the framework of the extended crushing-dependent critical state theory or the energy-based theory.Eleven papers summarized in this review article for this special issue addressed the above issues in grain crushing through the advanced testing and modelling.
