Audio signal separation is an open and challenging issue in the classical“Cocktail Party Problem”.Especially in a reverberation environment,the separation of mixed signals is more difficult separated due to the infl...Audio signal separation is an open and challenging issue in the classical“Cocktail Party Problem”.Especially in a reverberation environment,the separation of mixed signals is more difficult separated due to the influence of reverberation and echo.To solve the problem,we propose a determined reverberant blind source separation algorithm.The main innovation of the algorithm focuses on the estimation of the mixing matrix.A new cost function is built to obtain the accurate demixing matrix,which shows the gap between the prediction and the actual data.Then,the update rule of the demixing matrix is derived using Newton gradient descent method.The identity matrix is employed as the initial demixing matrix for avoiding local optima problem.Through the real-time iterative update of the demixing matrix,frequency-domain sources are obtained.Then,time-domain sources can be obtained using an inverse short-time Fourier transform.Experi-mental results based on a series of source separation of speech and music mixing signals demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves better separation performance than the state-of-the-art methods.In particular,it has much better superiority in the highly reverberant environment.展开更多
Individual countries are requested to submit nationally determined contributions(NDCs)to alleviate global warming in the Paris Agreement.However,the global climate effects and regional contributions are not explicitly...Individual countries are requested to submit nationally determined contributions(NDCs)to alleviate global warming in the Paris Agreement.However,the global climate effects and regional contributions are not explicitly considered in the countries’decision-making process.In this study,we evaluate the global temperature slowdown of the NDC scenario(ΔT=0.6°C)and attribute the global temperature slowdown to certain regions of the world with a compact earth system model.Considering reductions in CO_(2),CH_(4),N_(2)O,BC,and SO_(2),the R5OECD(the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in 1990)and R5ASIA(Asian countries)are the top two contributors to global warming mitigation,accounting for 39.3%and 36.8%,respectively.R5LAM(Latin America and the Caribbean)and R5MAF(the Middle East and Africa)followed behind,with contributions of 11.5%and 8.9%,respectively.The remaining 3.5%is attributed to R5REF(the Reforming Economies).Carbon Dioxide emission reduction is the decisive factor of regional contributions,but not the only one.Other greenhouse gases are also important,especially for R5MAF.The contribution of short-lived aerosols is small but significant,notably SO_(2)reduction in R5ASIA.We argue that additional species beyond CO_(2)need to be considered,including short-lived pollutants,when planning a route to mitigate climate change.It needs to be emphasized that there is still a gap to achieve the Paris Agreement 2-degree target with current NDC efforts,let alone the ambitious 1.5-degree target.All countries need to pursue stricter reduction policies for a more sustainable world.展开更多
Evidence for a mantle and/or basaltic component in KT boundary distal ejecta is apparently inconsistent with ejection from Chicxulub Crater since it is located on;5km thick continental crust(De Paolo et al.,1983;Mont...Evidence for a mantle and/or basaltic component in KT boundary distal ejecta is apparently inconsistent with ejection from Chicxulub Crater since it is located on;5km thick continental crust(De Paolo et al.,1983;Montanari et al.,1983;Hildebrand and Boynton,1988,1990).Evidence for mafic/ultramafic target rocks was reinforced by discovery of chromites,some with shock planar deformation features(PDF),in impact layer samples from sites in southern Colorado and eastern Wyoming(Bohor et al.,1990).However,until now it was unclear whether the chromites originated with an impactor or with terrestrial target rocks.To this end,high-precision 54Cr/52Cr isotope ratios were measured on KT boundary chromites along with known terrestrial chromites.We find a terrestrial 54Cr/52Cr ratio in KT boundary chromites from impact layer samples collected at the above sites over the last several years(Fig.1).Ejected terrestrial chromites suggest the impact sampled terrestrial mafic and/or ultramafic target rocks not known to exist in the Chicxulub target area.展开更多

S-shaped injection current dependence of the energy spacing(ES) between the zero-p...Phonon sidebands in the electrolumiescence(EL) spectra of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well blue light emitting diodes are investigated. S-shaped injection current dependence of the energy spacing(ES) between the zero-phonon and first-order phonon-assisted luminescence lines is observed in a temperature range of 100–150 K.The S-shape is suppressed with increasing temperature from 100 to 150 K, and vanishes at temperature above200 K. The S-shaped injection dependence of ES at low temperatures could be explained by the three stages of carrier dynamics related to localization states:(i) carrier relaxation from shallow into deep localization states,(ii) band filling of shallow and deep localization states, and(iii) carrier overflow from deep to shallow localization states and to higher energy states. The three stages show strong temperature dependence. It is proposed that the fast change of the carrier lifetime with temperature is responsible for the suppression of S-shaped feature.The proposed mechanisms reveal carrier recombination dynamics in the EL of InGaN/GaN MQWs at various injection current densities and temperatures.展开更多

The pore is generated by applying the current pulse across a SiNx membrane, which is immersed in potassium...We provide a way to precisely control the geometry of a SiNx nanopore by adjusting the applied electric pulse. The pore is generated by applying the current pulse across a SiNx membrane, which is immersed in potassium chloride solution. We can generate single conical and cylindrical pores with different electric pulses. A theoretical model based on the Poisson and Nernst-Planck equations is employed to simulate the ion transport properties in the channel. In turn, we can analyze pore geometries by fitting the experimental current-voltage (I-V) curves. for the conical pores with a pore size of 0.5-2nm in diameter, the slope angles are around -2.5% to -10%. Moreover, the pore orifice can be enlarged slightly by additional repeating pulses. The conic pore lumen becomes close to a cylindrical channel, resulting in a symmetry I-V transport under positive and negative biases. A qualitative understanding of these effects will help us to prepare useful solid-nanopores as demanded.展开更多
Comparing and evaluating the Nationally Determined Contribution(NDC) is an important element in global stocktake in the post-Paris climate negotiations, aimed at closing the emissions gap with the Paris Agreement goal...Comparing and evaluating the Nationally Determined Contribution(NDC) is an important element in global stocktake in the post-Paris climate negotiations, aimed at closing the emissions gap with the Paris Agreement goals. To date, however, there has still been no explicit guideline or method. By applying emissions allowance allocated by 16 schemes as benchmarks, this paper tries to compare and evaluate the NDCs of the top six emitters, which jointly account for about 70% of the world's CO_2 emissions. Results show that the four developed countries' NDCs lack ambition with respect to most allocations under 2℃ and all under 1.5℃, indicating they need to substantially ratchet up their NDCs and lead elevating mitigation. Evaluating cumulative emissions is more likely to clarify the ambition and fairness of China's NDC. If considering cumulative emissions, China's NDC is aligned with the median of cumulative allowances under 2℃ and within the 1.5℃ range. The Paris Agreement invited the Parties to communicate the mid-century low emissions strategies. This paper also tries to explore the mid-century mitigation in the perspective of allocations, which might provide decision-makers with some useful information when envisaging the post-NDC mitigation.展开更多

The results show a metallic character of TiS2, and the plots of total and partial densities of states of TiS2 show the metallic character of the bonds and a strong hybridization between the states d of Ti and p of S below the Fermi energy. The optical properties of the material such as real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant (ε(w) = ε1(w) + iε2(w)), refractive index n(w), optical reflectivity R(w), for E / /x and E / /z are performed for the energy range of 0-.14 eV.展开更多

The number of exposed workers with positive mi-cronucleus test was 9. 6 %, which was higher than that of control group (4. 5 % ), but thedifference was not significant (P >0. 05 ). The micronucleus test in mice treated with waterextracts of unsteamed and unbaked birchen dust showed that the micronucleus frequencies inall treated groups were significantly higher than that of contro group (P < 0. 01 ) and therewas also a doseresponse correlation (r = 0. 96, P < 0. 0005 ). The results of steamed andbaked birchen dust extracts were significantly lower than those of the unsteamed and unbakedones at the same doses (P< 0. 001 ). In reptiles, sex-determina tion is a continuum, from tempera ture-dependent sex determination(TSD) to genetic sex determination(GSD).The multi-ocellated racerunner(Eremias multiocellata)is reported to be a cryptic ZZ/ZW chromosomal TSD species, with male-biased sex ratios at high temperatures in two Gansu populations. However, the generality of the sex-determining pattern in different populations of this species remains unclear. To investigate the mode of sex determina tion in a popula tion of E.multiocellata from the desert steppe of Inner Mongolia,we first identified sex chromosomes via comparative genomic hybridization(CGH). We then conducted a thermal manipulation experiment to determine the effect of gestation temperature on offspring sex ratios.From the CGH studies we found that lizards from the Inner Mongolia population possessed ZZ/ZW sex chromosomes. However, our thermal manipulation experiment showed that gestation temperature did not affect the sex ratio of neonates in this population. In combination, these results rule out TSD in the Inner Mongolia population of E. multiocellata, and suggest that there is widespread geographic variation in the sexdetermining system of this species.展开更多

The NH<sub>4</sub>OAc (pH = 7.0) exchange method is usually recommended to determine CEC (CEC<sub>1</sub>) of all soils with different pH values, particularly for studies on soil taxonomy. But comparatively the BaCl<sub>2</sub>-MgSO<sub>4</sub> forced-exchange method is more authentic in determining CEC (CEC<sub>2</sub>) of tropical and subtropical highly-weathered acid soils. But so far little is known about the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>. In this study, the physiochemical data of 114 acid B horizon soils from 112 soil series of tropical and subtropical China were used, CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub> were determined and compared, the influencing factors were analyzed for the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>, and then a regression model was established between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>. The results showed that CEC<sub>2</sub> was significantly lower than CEC<sub>1</sub> (p < 0.01), CEC<sub>2</sub> was 14.76% - 63.31% with a mean of 36.32% of CEC<sub>1</sub>. In view of the contribution to CEC from other properties, CEC<sub>2</sub> was mainly determined by pH (45.92%), followed by silt (21.05%), free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (17.35%) and clay contents (12.76%), CEC<sub>1</sub> was mainly decided by free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> content (40.38%), followed by pH (28.39%) and silt content (27.29%;and the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub> was mainly affected by free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (50.92%), followed by silt content (26.46%) and pH (21.80%). The acceptable optimal regression model between CEC<sub>2</sub> and CEC<sub>1</sub> was established as CEC<sub>2</sub> = 2.3114 × CEC<sub>1</sub><sup>1.1496</sup> (R<sup>2</sup> = 0.410, P < 0.001, RMSE = 0.15). For the studies on soil taxonomy, the BaCl<sub>2</sub>-MgSO<sub>4</sub> forced-exchange method is recommended in determining CEC of the highly-weathered acid soils in the tropical and subtropical regions.展开更多
Nationally determined contributions raised by Paris Agreement aim to control the temperature rise below 2°C or even 1.5°C at the end of the 21st century,compared to pre-industrial levels.However,the climate ...Nationally determined contributions raised by Paris Agreement aim to control the temperature rise below 2°C or even 1.5°C at the end of the 21st century,compared to pre-industrial levels.However,the climate response of the Nationally Determined Contributions(NDCs)remains uncertain due to unstable policies and their credibility.In this study,we calculated the uncertainty of global temperature rise caused by uncertain NDCs and carbon-neutral policies and discussed the difficulty of policy implementation.The results show that there will be 8 GtC uncertainty in emission at the end of the 21st century,responsible for the temperature rise of 0.37°C(1.73–2.10°C).A delayed policy in emission reduction by major emitters would result in a temperature rise of over 2°C,while under non-delay policy,the 2°C target will be possibly achieved.Besides,low-emission countries would introduce a 30 GtC cumulative emission uncertainty at the end of the 21st century if there are no restrictions,leading to a 0.3°C global warming uncertainty.Developed countries need more substantial reductions in carbon intensity to achieve their climate policies while developing countries are under less pressure.The reduction of carbon intensity requires the strengthening of technical and economic methods.This study provides a reference for the realization of emission policies and temperature rise targets.展开更多

This study...The recent Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has resulted in the submission of the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) of 190 countries. This study aims to provide an analysis of the ambitiousness and fairness of the mitigation components of the INDCs submitted by various parties. We use a unified framework to assess 23 INDCs that cover 50 countries, including European Union (EU)-28 countries as parties to the Convention, which represent 87.45% of the global greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. First, we transform initial INDC files into reported reduction targets. Second, we create four schemes and six scenarios to determine the required reduction effort, which considers each nation's reduction responsibility, capacity, and potential, thereby reflecting their historical and current development status. Finally, we combine the reported reduction target and the required reduction effort to assess INDCs. Evaluation results of the 23 emitters indicate that 2 emitters (i.e., EU and Brazil) are rated as "sufficient," 7 emitters (e.g., China, the United States, and Canada) are rated as "moderate," and 14 emitters (e.g., India, Russia, and Japan) are rated as "insufficient." Most pledges exhibit a considerable distance from representing a fair contribution.展开更多

The conic pore lumen becomes close to a cylindrical channel, resulting in a symmetry I-V transport under positive and negative biases. A qualitative understanding of these effects will help us to prepare useful solid-nanopores as demanded.

文摘Comparing and evaluating the Nationally Determined Contribution(NDC) is an important element in global stocktake in the post-Paris climate negotiations, aimed at closing the emissions gap with the Paris Agreement goals. To date, however, there has still been no explicit guideline or method. By applying emissions allowance allocated by 16 schemes as benchmarks, this paper tries to compare and evaluate the NDCs of the top six emitters, which jointly account for about 70% of the world's CO_2 emissions. Results show that the four developed countries' NDCs lack ambition with respect to most allocations under 2℃ and all under 1.5℃, indicating they need to substantially ratchet up their NDCs and lead elevating mitigation. Evaluating cumulative emissions is more likely to clarify the ambition and fairness of China's NDC. If considering cumulative emissions, China's NDC is aligned with the median of cumulative allowances under 2℃ and within the 1.5℃ range. The Paris Agreement invited the Parties to communicate the mid-century low emissions strategies. This paper also tries to explore the mid-century mitigation in the perspective of allocations, which might provide decision-makers with some useful information when envisaging the post-NDC mitigation.
文摘The electronic and optical properties of TiS2 are studied of density functional theory. A linearized and augmented by using an ab-initio calculation within the frame plane wave basis set with the generalized gradient approximation as proposed by Perdew et al. is used for the energy exchange-correlation determination. The results show a metallic character of TiS2, and the plots of total and partial densities of states of TiS2 show the metallic character of the bonds and a strong hybridization between the states d of Ti and p of S below the Fermi energy. The optical properties of the material such as real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant (ε(w) = ε1(w) + iε2(w)), refractive index n(w), optical reflectivity R(w), for E / /x and E / /z are performed for the energy range of 0-.14 eV.
文摘The acute toxic effects of ammonium sulphate to fresh-water catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis (H.fossilis) have been studied by determining LC50 values with 95% confidence limits, by the graphic method, the logistic method, the Spearman and Karber method and the trimmed Spearman-Karber method. The trimmed Spearman-Karber method was found the most ideal for ammonium salt toxicity test. The flaws in the trimmed Spearman-Karber method are also discussed.
文摘In a wood processing factory, the measured air concentration of birchen dust was 1. 26 ±0. 41 mg/m3, and the micronucleus frequency of peripheral blood lymphocytes in 83 workersexposed to wood dust was 1. 13 ± 2. 83%, which was significantly higher (P < 0.01 ) thanthat of control group (0. 51 ± 1. 41% ). The number of exposed workers with positive mi-cronucleus test was 9. 6 %, which was higher than that of control group (4. 5 % ), but thedifference was not significant (P >0. 05 ). The micronucleus test in mice treated with waterextracts of unsteamed and unbaked birchen dust showed that the micronucleus frequencies inall treated groups were significantly higher than that of contro group (P < 0. 01 ) and therewas also a doseresponse correlation (r = 0. 96, P < 0. 0005 ). The results of steamed andbaked birchen dust extracts were significantly lower than those of the unsteamed and unbakedones at the same doses (P< 0. 001 ). This suggests that when the birchen dust is steamed atthe temperature of 100℃ for 24h or baked at the temperature of 80℃, its inducing effect inmicronucleus test could be lowered

文摘Sex-determining systems show a striking diversity not only among species, but also among popula tions. In reptiles, sex-determina tion is a continuum, from tempera ture-dependent sex determination(TSD) to genetic sex determination(GSD).The multi-ocellated racerunner(Eremias multiocellata)is reported to be a cryptic ZZ/ZW chromosomal TSD species, with male-biased sex ratios at high temperatures in two Gansu populations. However, the generality of the sex-determining pattern in different populations of this species remains unclear. To investigate the mode of sex determina tion in a popula tion of E.multiocellata from the desert steppe of Inner Mongolia,we first identified sex chromosomes via comparative genomic hybridization(CGH). We then conducted a thermal manipulation experiment to determine the effect of gestation temperature on offspring sex ratios.From the CGH studies we found that lizards from the Inner Mongolia population possessed ZZ/ZW sex chromosomes. However, our thermal manipulation experiment showed that gestation temperature did not affect the sex ratio of neonates in this population. In combination, these results rule out TSD in the Inner Mongolia population of E. multiocellata, and suggest that there is widespread geographic variation in the sexdetermining system of this species.
文摘Cation exchange capacity (CEC) is one of the most important properties of soils. The NH<sub>4</sub>OAc (pH = 7.0) exchange method is usually recommended to determine CEC (CEC<sub>1</sub>) of all soils with different pH values, particularly for studies on soil taxonomy. But comparatively the BaCl<sub>2</sub>-MgSO<sub>4</sub> forced-exchange method is more authentic in determining CEC (CEC<sub>2</sub>) of tropical and subtropical highly-weathered acid soils. But so far little is known about the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>. In this study, the physiochemical data of 114 acid B horizon soils from 112 soil series of tropical and subtropical China were used, CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub> were determined and compared, the influencing factors were analyzed for the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>, and then a regression model was established between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub>. The results showed that CEC<sub>2</sub> was significantly lower than CEC<sub>1</sub> (p < 0.01), CEC<sub>2</sub> was 14.76% - 63.31% with a mean of 36.32% of CEC<sub>1</sub>. In view of the contribution to CEC from other properties, CEC<sub>2</sub> was mainly determined by pH (45.92%), followed by silt (21.05%), free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (17.35%) and clay contents (12.76%), CEC<sub>1</sub> was mainly decided by free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> content (40.38%), followed by pH (28.39%) and silt content (27.29%;and the difference between CEC<sub>1</sub> and CEC<sub>2</sub> was mainly affected by free Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (50.92%), followed by silt content (26.46%) and pH (21.80%). The acceptable optimal regression model between CEC<sub>2</sub> and CEC<sub>1</sub> was established as CEC<sub>2</sub> = 2.3114 × CEC<sub>1</sub><sup>1.1496</sup> (R<sup>2</sup> = 0.410, P < 0.001, RMSE = 0.15). For the studies on soil taxonomy, the BaCl<sub>2</sub>-MgSO<sub>4</sub> forced-exchange method is recommended in determining CEC of the highly-weathered acid soils in the tropical and subtropical regions.

文摘Nationally determined contributions raised by Paris Agreement aim to control the temperature rise below 2°C or even 1.5°C at the end of the 21st century,compared to pre-industrial levels.However,the climate response of the Nationally Determined Contributions(NDCs)remains uncertain due to unstable policies and their credibility.In this study,we calculated the uncertainty of global temperature rise caused by uncertain NDCs and carbon-neutral policies and discussed the difficulty of policy implementation.The results show that there will be 8 GtC uncertainty in emission at the end of the 21st century,responsible for the temperature rise of 0.37°C(1.73–2.10°C).A delayed policy in emission reduction by major emitters would result in a temperature rise of over 2°C,while under non-delay policy,the 2°C target will be possibly achieved.Besides,low-emission countries would introduce a 30 GtC cumulative emission uncertainty at the end of the 21st century if there are no restrictions,leading to a 0.3°C global warming uncertainty.Developed countries need more substantial reductions in carbon intensity to achieve their climate policies while developing countries are under less pressure.The reduction of carbon intensity requires the strengthening of technical and economic methods.This study provides a reference for the realization of emission policies and temperature rise targets.
文摘The recent Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has resulted in the submission of the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) of 190 countries. This study aims to provide an analysis of the ambitiousness and fairness of the mitigation components of the INDCs submitted by various parties. We use a unified framework to assess 23 INDCs that cover 50 countries, including European Union (EU)-28 countries as parties to the Convention, which represent 87.45% of the global greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. First, we transform initial INDC files into reported reduction targets. Second, we create four schemes and six scenarios to determine the required reduction effort, which considers each nation's reduction responsibility, capacity, and potential, thereby reflecting their historical and current development status. Finally, we combine the reported reduction target and the required reduction effort to assess INDCs. Evaluation results of the 23 emitters indicate that 2 emitters (i.e., EU and Brazil) are rated as "sufficient," 7 emitters (e.g., China, the United States, and Canada) are rated as "moderate," and 14 emitters (e.g., India, Russia, and Japan) are rated as "insufficient." Most pledges exhibit a considerable distance from representing a fair contribution.
