Materials and Methods: Seventy five members of the Fire of Anatolia dance group (mean age: 26.8 ± 5.2; 18-38 years) performers were evaluated. The dancers suffered 14 orthopedic injuries requiring surgery (3 meniscus tears, 2 anterior cruciate ligament tears one of which is with posterolateral corner tear, 1 posterior cruciate ligament tear, 1 patellar dislocation, 1 scaphoid fracture, 1 extensor tendon cut in hand, 1 infrapatellar bursitis, 2 Hoffa’s fat pad syndromes, 2 symptomatic medial plicaes) during a nine-year period. Follow-up time was 51 ± 41.9 (29.5-92) months. Results: Following surgeries, the dancers could restart rehearsals in 12.7 ± 9 (range: 4 to 36) weeks and perform live on the stage in 16.2 ± 12.2 (range: 5 to 52) weeks on average. Conclusion: Males were 8.64 times more likely to suffer an injury requiring surgery compared to the females (p = 0.003) and twelve (85.7%) of these injuries were lower extremity injuries and were all located in the knee in Anatolian folk dancers.展开更多

It is an indispensable source of Chinese classical dance, court dance and professional dance creation. Chinese folk dances are characterized by unpretentiousness, diverse forms, rich content, and vivid images. But these require professional dancers to express through professional training. Even amateur dances need to be completed through well-trained and emotionally full actors.⑴ In the process of training, in addition to the necessary basic skills and other physical training, we also need to train the demeanor. We often say that the eyes are the windows of the soul, and the folk dance is more about expressing a feeling to the audience. If the dancer don't have a good performance and face expression, he or she can't express the dance work at all. Therefore, this article takes the training of national folk dance as the starting point, combining technical training, stage perfonnance, professional dancers and amateur dancers, taking the Uygur as an example.展开更多

Methods: A total of 53 urban fourth grade children were divided into two groups, with one group playing DDR and the other group engaged in aerobic dance. After 15 min, the groups switched activities and continued their respective activities for another 15 min. Participants wore NL- 1000 pedometers in four consecutive sessions, and responded to a questionnaire measuring their self-efficacy and enjoyment toward two dance activities at the end of the first session. Results: Children spent more moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) time (p 〈 0.01, 72 = 0.49) in aerobic dance than DDR. Additionally, children reported significantly higher self-efficacy (p 〈 0.001, 72 = 0.28) and enjoyment (p 〈 0.01, η2 = 0.18) in DDR than in aerobic dance. Conclusion: Health care professionals and educators may not replace the traditional PAs and sports with interactive video games, but may use exergaming as an excellent addition to promote PA. The purpose of this study was to simultaneously assess the physiological responses and psychological experiences during salsa dance and Zumba fitness in a community sample of physically inactive women. Methods: Twenty-four participants, aged 22-56 years, visited the laboratory to perform a graded exercise test for determination of maximal oxygen uptake and maximal heart rate. The participants then attended 2 partnered salsa dance and 2 non-partnered Zumba fitness classes each in a counterbalanced order over a 2-week period. The 1-h classes were taught by certified instructors in established venues in the Royal Borough of Kingston and the surrounding communities of London, UK. Physiological data were collected using a wrist-worn ActiGraph wGT3X+ acceler- ometer with accompanying heart rate monitor and were processed using previously validated dance-specific techniques. Psychological experiences were measured via the Subjective Exercise Experiences Scale. Results: There was a significantly higher (p 〈 0.001) total time spent in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (51.2± 3.1 vs. 32.6 ±5.9 min), total energy expenditure (411±66 vs. 210 ± 46 kcal), and total step count (6773 ± 556 vs. 4108 ±781 steps) during Zumba fitness when compared to salsa dance. Significant pre- to post-class improvements in positive well-being (p 〈 0.01, partial 7/2 = 0.4l) and psychological distress (p 〈 0.001, partial 02 = 0.72) were simultaneously observed for both salsa dance and Zumba fitness. Conclusion: The acute responses to classes of partnered Latin dance and non-partnered Latin-themed aerobic dance suggest that in physically inactive women participation is indeed efficacious in terms of community-based physical activity and psychosocial health promotion.展开更多
