During the Chinese New Year of 2024,China National Opera&Dance Drama Theater was invited to Hungary,Sweden,Denmark and Norway to carry out the 2024"Happy Chinese NewYear"tour performance.China National Opera&Dance Drama Theater sent a visiting team composed of 29 artists to touch the hearts of overseas audiences with the art of ethnic singing and dancing and the deep charm of the Chinese culture,and to spread the essence of the Chinese culture in the dialogue with the world.

Balancing Academic and Artistic Merit:Equity Concerns for Dance Students in China’s College Entrance System

This study explores the effects of recent changes in China’s dance college admissions,which now equally weigh academic and professional performance.While the policy aims to create fairer admissions,it presents challenges for students from specialized dance programs(keban),who may struggle with academic demands.In contrast,academically strong students with limited dance training may gain an advantage.The research highlights the policy’s mixed impact and proposes flexible admissions strategies,such as conditional offers and ongoing academic support,to better accommodate students with diverse abilities.The study underscores the importance of refining these policies to ensure greater equity and cultural diversity in dance education.

Empty-nest elderly:mahjong and Chinese square dance for improving the cognitive function in the community

Objective: The elderly population has proliferated worldwide. The empty-nest family pattern has become predominant among the aging people, and they are more vulnerable to the development of cognitive disorders. However, there is no standardized service in the community nursing care that includes procedures on how to improve the cognitive function of the elderly. Meanwhile, the booming number of empty-nest elderly stimulates the community nurses to assume the responsibility for their care. All of these bring more difficulties and opportunities for community nurses who are dedicated to the prevention of geriatric cognitive disorders.Methods: The authors reviewed the literature related to "empty-nest elderly", "cognitive function","mahjong",and "Chinese square dance" in the Elsevier, Web of Science(WOS), China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Springer and PubMed databases. The study illustrates the utility possibility of an efficient and straightforward method for improving the cognitive function among the elderly in the context of community nursing care in China and even in the rest of the world.Results: Mental and physical activity contributes to cognitive fitness and may be beneficial in delaying cognitive decline. Mental activities, such as playing mahjong, and physical activities, such as the Chinese square dance, are common Chinese activities. Both of them can affect cognitive function in some way.Conclusions: China is experiencing one of its most severe aging problems. Community health personnel and related professionals may consider using mahjong and Chinese square dance to promote psychological health in empty-nest elderly individuals in the community.

Beyond the Playboy and the Hero: The (Re)constructions of Roberto Carlos’s work in “The Songs You Danced for Me”

The aim is to examine how the musical work of Roberto Carlos was mobilized in the danceshow“The songs you danced for me”.The contact between the songs and the contemporary dance defined different meanings.The results indicate that such contact reaffirms romantic love and the heroism of the protagonist,but also opens possibilities for relationships that escape from the heteronormative romantic ideal.

Beyond the Ontology of“Dance” as an Art： An Anthropological Analysis of Female Stage Performers

The proposed paper focuses on art as a form of cultural expression and it presents data based on ethnographic information of famous Pakistani musical theatres in Lahore, Province of Punjab. Most description of the performing arts is written by men with an exclusive male perspective. Little or no attempt has been made to explore women lives in performing theatre apart from their assigned role as physical crowd-pullers. This study presents how symbols are used to communicate, as each member of theatre community uses entire repertoire to convey messages, manual gesticulations, body gestures, facial expressions, dance patterns, a particular dress etc. at the cultural level. The central idea of this study is how artists use the body in performance to imagine and enact culture, values, humor, selfhood, and the complex relations among them. It discusses their real backstage life experiences and problems faced as well how and what type of contact they maintain with their audience and admirers. What are their moral values and what kind of social dilemmas they face, how the sexuality of theatre women is being controlled, their fears emotions, distress of theatre women etc. are the major research questions. In short, this anthropological inquiry takes into account all relevant social, cultural, political, economic, and religious dimensions of performing art.

Body Composition and Performance Capabilities Based on Protein Intake in Collegiate Dancers： A Pilot Study

The aesthetic nature of dance places pressure on the athlete to have low body weight and fat and despite data showing higher protein intake improving body composition in numerous populations, a paucity of data exists on dancers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine associations between protein intake, body composition and performance among dancers. Female dancers （n = 25; age 20.7 ± 1.8 years; mean ± SD） completed three-day diet logs, body composition （DXA）, and performance testing. Protein intake was expressed as g/kg/day and three equal tertiles were created （Low protein： LP, 〈 1.2 g/kg/day; Moderate protein： MP, 1.2-1.6 g/kg/day; High protein： HP, 〉 1.6 g/kg/day）. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA to compare group means with significance at P 〈 0.05. Protein and energy intake were greater in HP compared to LP （P = 0.001, 0.033, respectively）. The only performance difference observed was peak horizontal force （AMTI force platform） which was significantly greater in HP compared to LP （LP： 295.7 ± 111.1N, HP： 419.9 ± 76.7N; P = 0.029）. In conclusion, no significant differences were found between protein tertiles and body composition. Nevertheless, protein intake may be physiologically important to dancers when combined with evidence from other athletic .populations indicating high protein and energy intake may be beneficial to body composition.

In this paper, the independent extracurricular practice of the students in the specialized dance sport in Shenyang Sport University is analyzed and studied, and the influencing factors and problems of the students＇ independent extracurricular practice in the specialized dance sport are further analyzed based on knowing well the current independent extracurricular practice of the students in the specialized dance sport in Shenyang Sport University, and then the corresponding countermeasures are proposed according to the existing problems. Thus, a theoretical foundation is provided for the future development and continuously deepened physical education reform of the specialized dance sport in physical education institutes.

Augmented Reality Book for Preserving Malay Traditional Dances:A Case Study

Malaysia is known throughout the world for its multiculturalism.As a multiple ethnic country,many countries are looking on Malaysia as a great example of peaceful co-existence races and belief where all the ethnic groups in Malaysia live together in harmony and enrich the country's cultural lifestyle.Within that,Malaysia also consists of a collective blend of food,traditions,clothing and customs.Towards that,traditional dance is the treasure of art and culture.Therefore,with modern era and technology nowadays,it has led the younger generation care less about traditional dance.Beside,a printed media such as bunting,banners and pamphlets are less effective in promoting the traditional dance.By concerning this,this research study aims to preserving the traditional dance among young generation towards new media technology.In explaining the issues,a case study through quantitative approaches of questionnaires survey and interviews was used in studied the uniqueness of traditional Malay dance and further proposes a new approach for preserving the traditional Malay dance awareness among the young generation.The research significantly impacts the publics particularly on the new generation towards uniqueness of traditional dance in Malaysia.It is also contributes to the National Heritage Department and the National Arts and Culture Department where the documentation could be used as a collection of cultural and heritage books in the form of new media technology for young generation.

Research on the Effect of Dance Therapy on Improving Social Communication Ability of Children with Autism

Research motivation:Through the 12 weeks dance therapy intervention for children with autism,the purpose is to explore the intervention model of dance therapy for children with autism and the changes in motor ability,social ability,and communication ability of children with autism after dance therapy intervention.The results of the research are expected to expand the intervention mode of dance therapy in my country and provide practical reference for rehabilitation intervention of children with autism.Research methods:24 autistic boys aged 6 to 12 with mild to moderate symptoms were recruited and screened through the Internet as the subjects of this study.We randomly divided them into experimental group(N=12)and control group(N=12).All children with autism have an autism diagnosis certificate issued by Children’s Hospital or a tertiary hospital,excluding other mental diseases(such as epilepsy,major physical disability,mental illness,no history of drugs and other interventions,etc.).We used the paired sample t-test to compare the score difference between the dance treatment group and the control group before and after the two groups,and used the observation method to record the basic communication behavior and the number of active communication behaviors in the experimental group during the intervention process.All data analysis is used in SPSS 20.0.Research results:After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention,there were statistically significant differences in the gross movement,balance,and coordination abilities of the children in the experimental group compared with those before the intervention(p<0.01).There was no significant difference between the children in the control group(p>0.05).After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention,there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the social response scale for children with autism in the experimental group(p<0.05).There was no significant change in the scores of each item of the SRS scale before and after intervention in the control group and the dance treatment group(p>0.05).
