The output of a strainmeter was sampled at a rate of l00/sec by seismometer acquisition from the original rate of 1 per minute. Plenty of high frequency sampled data was recorded. The minute value curve calculated from the seismometer acquisition are consistent with that of the original data sampled by the strain acquisition system. More complete waveforms were recorded with a higher sampling rate, and seismic phase parameters calculated by using higher sampling rate strain seismic waves are also in consistency with the results of its predecessors. Spectra of the strain seismic waves are compared with that of seismic waves recorded by a seismometer in the Shisanling seismic station, and their trends are almost the same. Besides, some lower frequency components still exist in strain seismic waves.展开更多

The proposed algorithm selects the critical flow rate as the trigger variable of the algorithm which is calculated by the road c...A bottleneck automatic identification algorithm based on loop detector data is proposed. The proposed algorithm selects the critical flow rate as the trigger variable of the algorithm which is calculated by the road conditions the level of service and the proportion of trucks.The process of identification includes two parts. One is to identify the upstream of the bottleneck by comparing the distance between the current occupancy rate and the mean value of the occupancy rate and the variance of the occupancy rate.The other process is to identify the downstream of the bottleneck by calculating the difference of the upstream occupancy rate with that of the downstream.In addition the algorithm evaluation standards which are based on the time interval of the data the detection rate and the false alarm rate are discussed.The proposed algorithm is applied to detect the bottleneck locations in the Shanghai Inner Ring Viaduct Dabaishu-Guangzhong road section.The proposed method has a good performance in improving the accuracy and efficiency of bottleneck identification.展开更多

The Mass Gathering Data Acquisition and Analysis (MaGDAA) project involved the development of hardware and software solutions to facilitate the rapid and effective collection of autonomous and survey based data during...The Mass Gathering Data Acquisition and Analysis (MaGDAA) project involved the development of hardware and software solutions to facilitate the rapid and effective collection of autonomous and survey based data during mass gathering events. The aim of the project was the development and trial of a purpose-built Open Hardware based environment monitoring sensor prototypes using IOIO (pronounced “yoyo”) boards. Data from these sensors, and other devices, was collected using Open Source software running on Android powered mobile phones, tablets and other open hardware based platforms. Data was shared using a Wi-Fi mesh network based on an Open Source project called The Serval Project. Additional data in the form of survey based questionnaires were collected using ODK Collect, one of the applications in the Open Data Kit suite. The MaGDAA project demonstrated that it is possible for researchers (through the use of Open Source software and Open Hardware) to own, visualise, and share data without the difficulties of setting up and maintaining servers. MaGDAA proved to be an effective infrastructure independent sensor logging network that enables a broad range of data collection (demographic, predispositions, motivations, psychosocial and environmental influencers and modifiers of audience behaviour, cultural value) in the field of mass gathering research.展开更多
