A control system consisting of analogue parts was replaced with a new digital control implemented in a TMS320LF2407A DSP chip. The design and constructional features of the whole digital control were presented. The resources of the DSP chip were efficiently utilized and the circuits are very concise, which can enhance the stability and reliability of welding inverter. Experimental results demonstrate that the developed digital control has the ability to accomplish the excellent pulsed gas metal arc welding process and the merits of the developed digital control are stable welding process, little spatter and perfect weld appearance.展开更多

The proposed control system ...A fuzzy logic intelligent control system of pulsed MAG welding inverter based on digital signal processor (DSP) is proposed to obtain the consistency of arc length in pulsed MAG welding. The proposed control system combines the merits of intelligent control with DSP digital control. The fuzzy logic intelligent control system designed is a typical two-input-single-output structure, and regards the error and the change in error of peak arc voltage as two inputs and the background time as single output. The fuzzy logic intelligent control system is realized in a look-up table (LUT) method by using MATLAB based fuzzy logic toolbox, and the implement of LUT method based on DSP is also discussed. The pulsed MAG welding experimental results demonstrate that the developed fuzzy logic intelligent control system based on DSP has strong arc length controlling ability to accomplish the stable pulsed MAG welding process and controls pulsed MAG welding inverter digitally and intelligently.展开更多

The main circuit of the generator makes use of dual inverter structure among which the former inverter uses full bridge zero voltage switching topology and the latter inverter uses full bridge inverter circuit. To improve the dynamic response performance, the inverting frequency of the former inverter is as high us 100 kHz. The Cortex-M3 kernel based ARM microcontroller LM3S818 is adopted as the cybernetics core of the digital control system to achieve accurate, stable and flexible control of the generator. All the PWM signals for the former and latter inverters are generated by the LM3S818 directly. The constant current characteristic of the former inverter is obtained through current close-loop feedback control, and can ensure the operation safety when the output current waveform is at zero crossing point. Both simulation and experiment results show that the proposed generator is with such advantages as wide soft-switching range, perfect control accuracy and flexible waveform modulation, and can fulfill the requirements of electromagnetic stirring process.展开更多

By selecting the appropriate stability parameter which determines the additional pole and describes the degree of peaking in closed loop transfer function, a control model of current programmed full bridge arc welding inverter with maximum frequency bandwidth and stability can be obtained. The power supply main circuit is composed of two similar power electronic building blocks, using full-bridge high frequency inverter topology to achieve efficient energy transformation. To realize accurate digital control of the plasma cutting power supply and cooperative work of the two power electronic building blocks, the Cortex-M4 type ARM microprocessor-TM4C123GH6PGE is used as the cybernetic core of the control system. To improve the response performance and reliability of the power system, close-loop control and peak current feedback control modes are adopted. In the end, the experimental study of the performance testing and cutting of the developed prototype is carried out. The results indicate that the design is rational and feasible, and the developed high power plnsma cutting power supply works reliably with excellent performance.展开更多

The basic configuration of the new topology and their fundamental principle are firstly introduced, the method of design double-loop controller and sliding mode controller are clarified, analyzed and compared in the following. Finally the validity and feasibility of the new topology are tested by simulation. The results indicate that regulation of the voltage transfer ratio and output frequency can be realized optionally by the new converter, furthermore the harmonic distortion of waveform is low. So the inherent drawback of low voltage transfer ratio of traditional converter is effectively settled. This study may provide inspiration for further engineering application.展开更多

This paper presents the implementation of an automatic digital controller of a DC-DC boost converter without batteries for a solar cell module by using a peripheral interface controller, which forms a closed loop, to control the ON-OFF period of the switching pulse. The output of DC-DC converter is maintained by automatically increasing or decreasing the pulse width. To produce the pulse width modulation (PWM), the microcontroller is programmed according to the required duty cycle for the power switch. The PWM ON period is increased with the decrease in the PV voltage and vice-versa. The input voltage to the inverter is maintained constantly and is converted into an AC signal by using the metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) H-bridge operated in the sinusoidal pulse width modulation mode by using a PIC (peripheral interface controller) microcontroller. The generated AC signal can be connected to the AC grid or to the AC load. The simulated results by using Proteus 8 and hardware implemented results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.展开更多

Although the traditional symmetrical component decomposing and superimpose theory can keep the voltage balance through compensating the positive-, negative- and zero-sequence components of the output voltage of inverter, however, this method is time-consuming and not suitable for control. Aiming at high power medium frequency inverter source, a P+Resonant (Proportion and Resonant) controller which ensured a balanced three phase output voltage under unbalanced load is proposed in this paper. The regulator was proved to be applicable to both three-phase three-wire system and three-phase four-wire system and developed two methods of realization. The simulation results verified that this method can suppressed effectively the output voltage distorted caused by the unbalanced load and attained a high quality voltage waveforms.展开更多

The proposed topology combines the advantages of a traditional four-switch three-phase inverter with the advantages of the z impedance network (two inductors in series and two X connected capacitors). This new topology, besides the self-boost property, has low switch count and it can operate as a buck-boost inverter. As a result, the new embedded controlled reduced switch Z-source inverter system provides ride through capability during voltage sags, reduces line harmonics, improves power factor, reliability and extends output voltage range. This paper proposes a sliding mode controller based on robust model reference adaptive proportional-integral(RMRA-PI)control for a stand-alone voltage source inverter(SA-VSI).The proposed controller has two control lo...This paper proposes a sliding mode controller based on robust model reference adaptive proportional-integral(RMRA-PI)control for a stand-alone voltage source inverter(SA-VSI).The proposed controller has two control loops where the coefficients of PI controller are regulated by the adaptive sliding law.This method is used to regulate the output voltage of the inverter under different load conditions and uncertainty,and adapts the output to the reference model to reduce the total harmonic distortion(THD).In this paper,the stability of the proposed controller is proven by using Lyapunov's theory and Barbalet’s lemma.The proposed controller performs well in voltage regulation such as low THD under sudden load change and uncertainty.Also,the results of the proposed controller are compared with PI controller to show the effectiveness of the presented control system.展开更多
