This paper studies various control strategies for digital twin systems from the viewpoint of practical applications.To make full use of advantages of digital twins for control systems, an architecture of digital twin control systems, adaptive model tracking scheme, performance prediction scheme, performance retention scheme, and fault tolerant control scheme are proposed. Those schemes are detailed to deal with different issues on model tracking, performance prediction, performance retention, and fault tolerant control of digital twin systems. Also, the stability of digital twin control systems is analysed. The proposed schemes for digital twin control systems are illustrated by examples.展开更多

The PID gain parameters are optimized by the genetic algorithm (GA). The controller is verified on the new state-space model of servo-valves attached to the physical rotary actuator by SIMULINK program. The controller and the state-space model are verified experimentally. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the PID controller adaptive by GA to control the angular position of the rotary actuator as compared with the classical PID controller and the compensator controller.展开更多
The performance of the designed digital electro-pneumatic cabin pressure control system for the cabin pressure schedule of transport aircraft is investigated.For the purpose of this study,an experimental setup consist...The performance of the designed digital electro-pneumatic cabin pressure control system for the cabin pressure schedule of transport aircraft is investigated.For the purpose of this study,an experimental setup consisting of a simulated hermetic cabin and altitude simulation chamber is configured for cabin pressure control system operation.A series of experimental tests are executed to evaluate the performance of the cabin pressure control system.The parameters of the PID controller are optimized.In the optimization process,the variation regularity of the rate of cabin pressure change under various conditions is considered.An approach to prioritize the control of the rate of change of cabin pressure based on the flight status model is proposed and verified experimentally.The experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can be adopted for the designed digital electro-pneumatic cabin pressure control system to obtain a better cabin pressure schedule and rate of cabin pressure change.展开更多

The complexity of solutions to a restricted complexity controller benchmark problem is investigated using this measure. This paper presents the implementation of an automatic digital controller of a DC-DC boost converter without batteries for a solar cell module by using a peripheral interface controller, which forms a closed loop, to control the ON-OFF period of the switching pulse. The output of DC-DC converter is maintained by automatically increasing or decreasing the pulse width. To produce the pulse width modulation (PWM), the microcontroller is programmed according to the required duty cycle for the power switch. The PWM ON period is increased with the decrease in the PV voltage and vice-versa. The input voltage to the inverter is maintained constantly and is converted into an AC signal by using the metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) H-bridge operated in the sinusoidal pulse width modulation mode by using a PIC (peripheral interface controller) microcontroller. The generated AC signal can be connected to the AC grid or to the AC load. The simulated results by using Proteus 8 and hardware implemented results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.展开更多

First, by introducing a linear varying parameter, the nonlinear system is described as a linear parameter varying (LPV) model. Second, based on this LPV model, an LMI-based condition for the system to be asymptotically stabilized is deduced. By solving these LMIs, a parameter-dependent controller is established for the closed- loop system to be stable with a prescribed level of disturbance attenuation. The condition is also extended to the uncertain case. Finally, some numerical simulations demonstrate the satisfying performance of the proposed controller.展开更多

It utilizes an electro-hydraulic servo manipulator which is required to achieve precise trajectory tracking and positioning operations. Nevertheless,these tasks require precise and robust control,which is very difficult to attain due to the inherent nonlinear dynamic behavior of the electro-hydraulic system caused by flow-pressure characteristics and fluid volume control variations of the servo valve. The sliding mode controller(SMC)is a widely used nonlinear robust controller,yet uncertainties and delay in the output degrade the closed-loop system performance and cause system instability. This work proposes a robust controller scheme that counts for the output delay and the inherent parameter uncertainties. Namely,a sliding mode controller enhanced by time-delay compensating observer for a typical electro-hydraulic servo system is adapted. SMC is utilized for its robustness against servo system parameters’ uncertainty whereas a time-delay observer estimates the variable states of the controller(velocity and acceleration). The main contribution of this paper is improving on the closed loop performance of the electro hydraulic servo system and mitigating the delay time effects. Simulation results prove the robustness of this controller,which forces the position to track the desired path regardless of the changes of the amount of transport delay of the system’s states. The performance of the proposed controller is validated by repeating the simulation analysis while varying the amount of delay time.展开更多

A block-floating-point FWL closed-loop stability measure was derived which considers both the dynamic range and precision. To facilitate the design of optimal finite-precision controller realizations, a computationally tractable block-floating-point FWL closed-loop stability measure was then introduced and the method of computing the value of this measure for a given controller realization was developed. The optimal controller realization is defined as the solution that maximizes the corresponding measure, and a numerical optimization approach was adopted to solve the resulting optimal realization problem. A numerical example was used to illustrate the design procedure and to compare the optimal controller realization with the initial realization.展开更多

The prototype has been developed and is important because the cockpit is a new concept of medical equipment of neonatal life support. There was a modeling of the system of heating of the incubator using the concepts of system identification with the purpose of finding a mathematical model that describes the dynamic behavior of the system. Then, design and implement the strategy of feedback control with digital PID (proportional-integral-derivative) algorithm. The model allowed the design and implementation of a digital PID controller that meets in a satisfactory manner with the requirements, in accordance with the international standard. The control system implemented in the neonatal incubator ESVIN improved the effectiveness of the neonatal life support equipment in regard to temperature controller of the cockpit.展开更多

NOSLC is a high gain converter in which the positive source voltage is converte...This paper focuses on the comparative study of analog and digital control techniques for Negative Output Superlift Luo converter (NOSLC). NOSLC is a high gain converter in which the positive source voltage is converted into a negative load voltage. Though the negative load voltage is produced effectively, there is lot of non-linearities that affects the voltage level. To overcome this, analog controllers like Proportional-integral (PI), fuzzy PI and a sliding mode controller (SMC) were proposed for NOSLC. However PI controller does not respond to changes in operating point, fuzzy PI is based on the systematic approach and proved to be a trial and error oriented method and SMC brings an oscillation in the duty cycle. Therefore, to overcome these drawbacks, a digital control technique using PIC microcontroller is proposed in this paper which provides high versatility and programmability approach. Simulation studies are carried out in MATLAB and the performances of these controllers have been investigated for the proposed DC-DC converter. A prototype of the NOSLC converter is built by employing digital control and the results are verified experimentally.展开更多

The automation process is a very important pillar for Industry 4.0.One of the first steps is the control of motors to improve production efficiency and generate energy savings.In mass production industries,techniques ...The automation process is a very important pillar for Industry 4.0.One of the first steps is the control of motors to improve production efficiency and generate energy savings.In mass production industries,techniques such as digital signal processing(DSP)systems are implemented to control motors.These systems are efficient but very expensive for certain applications.From this arises the need for a controller capable of handling AC and DC motors that improves efficiency and maintains low energy consumption.This project presents the design of an adaptive control system for brushless AC induction and DC motors,which is functional to any type of plant in the industry.The design was possible by implementing Matlab software and tools such as digital signal processor(DSP)and Simulink.Through an extensive investigation of the state of the art,three models needed to represent the control system have been specified.The first model for the AC motor,the second for the DC motor and the third for the DSP control;this is done in this way so that the probability of failure is lower.Subsequently,these models have been programmed in Simulink,integrating the three main models into one.In this way,the design of a controller for use in AC induction motors,specifically squirrel cage and brushless DC motors,has been achieved.The final model represents a response time of 0.25 seconds,which is optimal for this type of application,where response times of 2e-3 to 3 seconds are expected.展开更多
A new kind of volume control hydraulic press that combines the advantages of both hydraulic and SRM(switched reluctance motor) driving technology is developed.Considering that the serious dead zone and time-variant no...A new kind of volume control hydraulic press that combines the advantages of both hydraulic and SRM(switched reluctance motor) driving technology is developed.Considering that the serious dead zone and time-variant nonlinearity exist in the volume control electro-hydraulic servo system,the ILC(iterative learning control) method is applied to tracking the displacement curve of the hydraulic press slider.In order to improve the convergence speed and precision of ILC,a fuzzy ILC algorithm that utilizes the fuzzy strategy to adaptively adjust the iterative learning gains is put forward.The simulation and experimental researches are carried out to investigate the convergence speed and precision of the fuzzy ILC for hydraulic press slider position tracking.The results show that the fuzzy ILC can raise the iterative learning speed enormously,and realize the tracking control of slider displacement curve with rapid response speed and high control precision.In experiment,the maximum tracking error 0.02 V is achieved through 12 iterations only.展开更多

Then, design and implement the strategy of feedback control with digital PID (proportional-integral-derivative) algorithm. The model allowed the design and implementation of a digital PID controller that meets in a satisfactory manner with the requirements, in accordance with the international standard. The control system implemented in the neonatal incubator ESVIN improved the effectiveness of the neonatal life support equipment in regard to temperature controller of the cockpit.
文摘This paper focuses on the comparative study of analog and digital control techniques for Negative Output Superlift Luo converter (NOSLC). NOSLC is a high gain converter in which the positive source voltage is converted into a negative load voltage. Though the negative load voltage is produced effectively, there is lot of non-linearities that affects the voltage level. To overcome this, analog controllers like Proportional-integral (PI), fuzzy PI and a sliding mode controller (SMC) were proposed for NOSLC. However PI controller does not respond to changes in operating point, fuzzy PI is based on the systematic approach and proved to be a trial and error oriented method and SMC brings an oscillation in the duty cycle. Therefore, to overcome these drawbacks, a digital control technique using PIC microcontroller is proposed in this paper which provides high versatility and programmability approach. Simulation studies are carried out in MATLAB and the performances of these controllers have been investigated for the proposed DC-DC converter. A prototype of the NOSLC converter is built by employing digital control and the results are verified experimentally.
文摘This paper addresses a digital controller for a real time magnetic levitation system using series expansion of pulse transfer function, which achieves desired closed loop response. The proposed digital controller designed, based on series expansion of pulse transfer function by solving a linear equation using the method of least squares, which improves the transient performance and step tracking capability of the compensated system. The designed algorithm used for the control input is not iterative, so the calculation is very fast. The proposed control scheme has successfully applied on maglev system and also validated through the simulation and hardware experimental results.
文摘Digital controllers are an interesting option for the next voltage regulator module (VRM) generation due to their wide programming possibilities. This paper discloses a very interested candidate to control DC-DC power converters, the Digital Signal Controller (DSC). For that matter, a study was done by carrying out simulations and experimental results. Moreover, an additional voltage-input feed-forward (IVFF) algorithm is given in order to show the benefits of this technology. Finally, a complete analysis of the quantization effect is presented, and its influence over the controller performance is included.
文摘The automation process is a very important pillar for Industry 4.0.One of the first steps is the control of motors to improve production efficiency and generate energy savings.In mass production industries,techniques such as digital signal processing(DSP)systems are implemented to control motors.These systems are efficient but very expensive for certain applications.From this arises the need for a controller capable of handling AC and DC motors that improves efficiency and maintains low energy consumption.This project presents the design of an adaptive control system for brushless AC induction and DC motors,which is functional to any type of plant in the industry.The design was possible by implementing Matlab software and tools such as digital signal processor(DSP)and Simulink.Through an extensive investigation of the state of the art,three models needed to represent the control system have been specified.The first model for the AC motor,the second for the DC motor and the third for the DSP control;this is done in this way so that the probability of failure is lower.Subsequently,these models have been programmed in Simulink,integrating the three main models into one.In this way,the design of a controller for use in AC induction motors,specifically squirrel cage and brushless DC motors,has been achieved.The final model represents a response time of 0.25 seconds,which is optimal for this type of application,where response times of 2e-3 to 3 seconds are expected.

文摘A new kind of volume control hydraulic press that combines the advantages of both hydraulic and SRM(switched reluctance motor) driving technology is developed.Considering that the serious dead zone and time-variant nonlinearity exist in the volume control electro-hydraulic servo system,the ILC(iterative learning control) method is applied to tracking the displacement curve of the hydraulic press slider.In order to improve the convergence speed and precision of ILC,a fuzzy ILC algorithm that utilizes the fuzzy strategy to adaptively adjust the iterative learning gains is put forward.The simulation and experimental researches are carried out to investigate the convergence speed and precision of the fuzzy ILC for hydraulic press slider position tracking.The results show that the fuzzy ILC can raise the iterative learning speed enormously,and realize the tracking control of slider displacement curve with rapid response speed and high control precision.In experiment,the maximum tracking error 0.02 V is achieved through 12 iterations only.
