Is Yang-Mills theory unitary in fractional spacetime dimensions?

We present concrete evidence that Yang-Mills theory exhibits non-unitarity in non-integer spacetime dimensions.This violation of unitarity stems from evanescent operators that,while vanishing in four dimensions,are non-zero in general d dimensions.We demonstrate that these evanescent operators lead to the emergence of both negative-norm states and complex anomalous dimensions.

Cultural Differences Between China and the West Behind“neijuan”

Over recent years,our society has plunged into the phenomenon of“neijuan”(in English“involution”,a kind of meaningless competition).And it even becomes a social dilemma that many people are forced to make more efforts to compete for limited social resources.This phenomenon has,of course,attracted the attention of many researchers.There are many researches about“neijuan”varying from its popularity reasons and its trend to its application,but there is very little research about the cultural differences between China and the West behind this phenomenon.Therefore,based on Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory,this paper analyses the different manifestations of“neijuan”in China and the West and explores the cultural differences between the two.

An Acceptance Model of Using Mobile-Government Services(AMGS)

In recent years,the telecommunications sector is no longer limited to traditional communications,but has become the backbone for the use of data,content and digital applications by individuals,governments and companies to ensure the continuation of economic and social activity in light of social distancing and total closure inmost countries in the world.Therefore,electronic government(e-Government)andmobile government(m-Government)are the results of technological evolution and innovation.Hence,it is important to investigate the factors that influence the intention to use m-Government services among Jordan’s society.This paper proposed a new m-Government acceptance model in Jordan(AMGS);this model combines the Information System(IS)Success Factor Model and Hofstede Cultural Dimensions Theory.The study was conducted by surveying different groups of the Jordanian community.Astructured questionnaire was used to collect data from203 respondents.Multiple regression analysis has been conducted to analyze the data.The results indicate that the significant predictors of citizen intention to use m-Government services in Jordan are Information Quality,Service Quality,Uncertainty Avoidance,and Indulgence vs.restraint.While,the results also suggest that Power Distance is not a significant predictor of citizen intention to use m-Government services.

Transverse shear and normal deformation effects on vibration behaviors of functionally graded micro-beams

A quasi-three dimensional model is proposed for the vibration analysis of functionally graded(FG)micro-beams with general boundary conditions based on the modified strain gradient theory.To consider the effects of transverse shear and nor-mal deformations,a general displacement field is achieved by relaxing the assumption of the constant transverse displacement through the thickness.The conventional beam theories including the classical beam theory,the first-order beam theory,and the higher-order beam theory are regarded as the special cases of this model.The material proper-ties changing gradually along the thickness direction are calculated by the Mori-Tanaka scheme.The energy-based formulation is derived by a variational method integrated with the penalty function method,where the Chebyshev orthogonal polynomials are used as the basis function of the displacement variables.The formulation is validated by some comparative examples,and then the parametric studies are conducted to investigate the effects of transverse shear and normal deformations on vibration behaviors.

Application of Structural Equation Modeling to Evaluate Service Quality of Sportswear Retailing

Structural Equation Modeling （SEM） used widely in sociology, economics and psychology is adopted. Based on data obtained from marketing research, and using statistical analysis software SPSSll. 0 and LISRELS. 7, Theory of Five Dimensions of service quality is proved to be suitable in sportswear retailing in China. It analyzes the relationship among five dimensions and puts them in order of importance as to service quality in sportswear retailing. Advices are given for sportswear retail companies to improve their .Service quality and enhance customer loyalty.

Exact 3D Thermoelastic Solutions for a Penny-Shaped Crack in an Infinite Magnetoelectric Medium

Exact solutions of three-dimensional(3D)crack problems are much less in number than those of two-dimensional ones,especially for multi-field coupling media exhibiting a certain kind of material anisotropy.An exact3Dthermoelastic solution has been reported for a uniformly heated penny-shaped crack in an infinite magnetoelectric space,with impermeable electromagnetic conditions assumed on the crack faces.Exact 3Dsolutions for the penny-shaped crack subjected to uniform or point temperature load are further presented here when the crack faces are electrically and magnetically permeable.The solutions,obtained by the potential theory method,are exact in the sense that all field variables are explicitly derived and expressed in terms of elementary functions.Along with the previously reported solution,the limits or bounds of the stress intensity factor at the crack-tip for a practical crack can be identified.

A Cross-Cultural Analysis of Disaster News in Chinese and American Media

Mass media has become an important platform for countries to connect with the outside world and exchange information.However,due to the differences in values,beliefs,and conventions of each country,misunderstandings are likely to occur in the processes of reading,translation,and communication.Catastrophic news,as an indispensable part of news reporting,is worth studying,especially the differences in this kind of news between China and American,to find out the cultural reasons leading to inconsistencies.This study selects some of the disaster reports in People’s Daily and Washington Post to examine what are reported and how they are reported,and then uses Hofstede’s Theory of Cultural Dimension to explore the cultural values reflected in the different features of Chinese and American catastrophic news.The results show that China and the US are quiet different in power distance,collectivism or individualism,and uncertainty avoidance.

Krein regularization of λφ~3 theory

In this paper, the one-loop self energy of λφ3 theory is calculated by using Krein regularization in four and six dimensions and the result, which is finite, is compared with the conventional result of λφ3 theory in Hilbert space. The self energy is calculated in the one-loop approximation and the result is automatically regularized as a result of “Krein Regularization”.
