Based on the premise that oxidative stress underlies a number of neurodegenerative diseases, the identification of novel antioxidants as potential therapeutics is a prolific area of neuroscience research. There is also a close relationship between specific therapies and the induction of oxidative stress in chronic neurodegeneration, such as the case of levodopa in patients with Parkinson's disease (Mtiller et al., 2014).展开更多
