Preparation and Investigation of High-Efficiency Antibacterial Liquid Dishwashing Detergent

A high-effi ciency liquid dishwashing detergent was prepared by using oregano essential oil as an antibacterial agent. The surface cleaning and antibacterial property of the detergent resolved its unifunctionality problem. The antibacterial activities of the detergent were demonstrated through a disk diff usion assay and wipe experiments with Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus . Results showed that the prepared detergent was highly eff ective against E. coli and S. aureus . The results of chemical accelerated tests indicated that the detergent would be eff ective for at least 1 year. The antibacterial property and detergency performance of the high-effi ciency antibacterial liquid dishwashing detergent were compared with those of a commercial antibacterial detergent containing 0.02% o -phenylphenol. The detergency performance of the high-effi ciency detergent reached 97.8% and was superior to that of the commercial antibacterial detergent. 展开更多

A test method was developed to better evaluate the cleaning performance of protease in Chinese automatic dishwashing detergent(ADD)and differentiate the washing performance of different ADD formulations on protein stains.Steamed egg stain,which was a Chinese-consumers-relevant soil,was used as monitor.The response curves of the stain to different amounts of protease were measured under laboratory conditions,and the stain removal ability of commercially available ADDs was tested with this method.The results showed that the soil removal rate of ADD without protease was less than 10%,and the soil removal rate increased with the increase of protease dosage in the range of 0~2.0%.Steamed egg stain had a good response to protease,and it could effectively distinguish the cleaning performance of commercial ADDs.The test method could be used in the development,screening and evaluation of ADD formulations. 展开更多

The foam and oil-removing performance of amino acid surfactants in alkaline condition were test to discuss feasibility of amino acid-based surfactant from natural origin as the alternative to traditional nonionic surfactants from petroleum origin in dishwasher detergent. Comparative study was conducted through using various amino acid-based surfactants and nonionic surfactants respectively, together with enzymes and peroxide to formulate dishwasher detergents, and their application properties such as foam performance and detergency were also evaluated when washing different tableware in automatic dishwasher. The results showed that among all tested amino acid surfactants, glutamate surfactants showed low foaming and high oil-removing ability in alkaline condition, and excellent decontamination ability in dishwashing tests. 展开更多

Saliva is a feasible specimen used in sample collection for research purposes.It is reported that saliva typically contains^430,000 epithelial cells per mL.There are various cost-effective methods and commercial kits available which are used to extract DNA from saliva.However,this study aims to explore a simple,time-saving and cheap method of DNA extraction using daily life household chemicals without the help of any electronic equipment.This protocol utilizes pineapple juice which contains bromelain enzyme as a proteolytic agent and dishwashing liquid as a detergent to rupture the cell membrane and remove the contamination.It takes approximately 10-15 min for the completion of extraction procedure.Results have indicated the good quality of DNA by gel electrophoresis and good yield with purity of 1.7-1.8 optical density.Thus,this method serves as a simple,convenient,easy-to-handle,time-saving,cheap and less laborious way for the extraction of DNA in daily routine practices with a good precision of quality and quantity that could be used for diagnostic purposes. 展开更多
