An Overview of the Achievements of Modern Research on the Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial

The current academic research on the Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial founded in 1884 has been perfected,but there is very little research on the Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,which can be said to be derived from Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial terms of both content and form,and which was founded by the Haiist painter Wu Youru in 1890 in order to reward the increasing number of admirers,but it is still in the initial stage.Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial consisted of four parts:pictures of ladies in Shanghai costumes,news about current affairs,pictures of animals,and compilations of women,each of which was accompanied by the then popular notebooks,which were popular at the time among the then readers because of the matching of pictures with text and the mixing of narratives and discussions.This paper takes Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial as the main object,summarizes the existing literature about Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,points out the deficiencies of the current research on this basis,and points out the development trend of Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial in the future research.

The archaeogenomic validation of Saint Ladislaus'relic provides insights into theárpád dynasty's genealogy

The house of Arp ad ruled Hungary for more than four centuries,establishing dynastical relationships with numerous European nobleand ruling houses,and giving many Catholic saints and blesseds to the Catholic Church.They were one of the significant dynasties of Medieval Europe(Krist o and Makk,1996).The knight-king Saint Ladislaus I(c.1040-1095,reign:1077-1095)is one of the most outstanding kings of this dynasty.In addition to the hand relic(the Holy Right)of King Saint Stephanus I(c.975-1038,reign:1000/1001-1038),the skull relic in the Saint Ladislaus’Herma(Fig.1A-1C)preserved in the Cathedral of Gy or,is one of the most important relics for Hungarians(Klaniczai,2000).

It also illustrates the important position of the ancient historical materials and notes in the historical study for their better historical value.

Annual temperatures during the last 2485 years in the mid-eastern Tibetan Plateau inferred from tree rings

By combining living trees and archaeological wood, the annual mean temperatures were reconstructed based on ring-width indices of the mid-eastern Tibetan Plateau for the past 2485 years. The climate variations revealed by the reconstruction indicate that there were four periods to have average tem- peratures similar to or even higher than that mean of 1970 to 2000 AD. A particularly notable rapid shift from cold to warm, we call it the "Eastern Jin Event", occurred from 348 AD to 413 AD. Calculation re- sults show that the temperature variations over the mid-eastern Tibetan Plateau are not only repre- sentative for large parts of north-central China, but also closely correspond to those of the entire Northern Hemisphere over long time scales. During the last 2485 years, the downfall of most major dynasties in China coincides with intervals of low temperature. Compared with the temperature records in other regions of China during the last 1000 years, this reconstruction from the Tibetan Plateau shows a significant warming trend after the 1950s.
